wow, i remember going to sheffield united away9tm forest) about 4 years ago, and i remember thinking, that the station and the entrance was pittiful(worse than nottinghams, and i personally think the walk from the station to nottm city center is a bit depressing). I remember the darlk and dingy subways etc.

now looking at the water features, and the general entrance from your ststion to your city center has gone from the worse to arguebly one of the top 3 in the country. So what transformation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One question i noticed when coming out of the station there were out factory buildings vandalised, derelict etc lying west of the station, will these be developed???they seem wasted buildings

Not sure where you mean - south of the sation along the rail line are a few old buildings there are plans i think but not much.

I think you might mean the buildings which have been cleared which were originally some kind of depot for newspaper distribution WHsmith? . The tower behind them was called sheaf house and that was originally a British Rail Office block, all has gone, it is now a large lovely public square.

He might mean the buildings facing the back end of the Leadmill, to the right of Spar.

Yeh, the station looks fantastic. I can't stop wondering why bobthebuilder always ends a compliment with a negative comment. He's been accused of this on the leeds forum. (sour grapes, i think).

Hope this wasn't aimed at me as i'm not an outsider and wasn't applauding Sheffield Council, just simply remarking that the station looks good. I was having a little dig at BTB. :bash:
