Both the colour and pattern of the cladding have a resemblance to the cladding on 23 Marina (http://i40.tinypic.com/29qftkz.jpg)
Jude12 April 17th, 2009, 06:29 PM The cladding looks very great. :okay:

Hey, Business Bay is taking shape, here with a nice group of new 200m+ towers: DIP Office Tower I (46 floors) to the left should be on that list, as well as the "veteran" from 2008, The Citadel (201m), and the still growing 60-storey Churchill Residency right behind.
Did I forget something? ... Oh well, Emirates Park Towers must've broken the 200m-limit recently, too. And they go up quickly: two new levels for the left tower in a week, and one for the right. :cheers2:
jhalsey May 1st, 2009, 05:44 PM BB is developing into another cluster/concentration of skyscrapers - like Canary Wharf.
saeed May 1st, 2009, 08:58 PM where is canary wharf?
Axel_F May 1st, 2009, 08:59 PM ^^Its the skyscraper district in London, GB.
saeed May 3rd, 2009, 04:02 PM Oh, I see. very nice area indeed!!
miau May 3rd, 2009, 04:27 PM BB is developing into another cluster/concentration of skyscrapers - like Canary Wharf.
Yes, it seems also a little bit isolated from the actual city center. At least here from a distance. How do the Dubai people think about it?
jhalsey May 4th, 2009, 06:34 PM Yes, it seems also a little bit isolated from the actual city center. At least here from a distance. How do the Dubai people think about it?
True of Canary Wharf also. It is about 6 miles away from the traditional City of London skyscrapers. In Dubai you have a third cluster - the Business Bay.
AltinD May 6th, 2009, 08:12 PM Marriott has been appointed operator of the Park Towers, a 1,614-room twin-tower hotel and apartment property, which Emirates is currently constructing on Sheikh Zayed Road, next to to Dubais Business Bay district.
Under Marriott management, the property will be branded as one of the top-of-the-range JW Marriott Marquis luxury hotels.
This will include two guest room towers rising from a six-story building housing lobby and public space. The first 807-room tower is scheduled to open in 2011 and the second tower in 2013.

saeed May 6th, 2009, 08:16 PM You really have to indentify where is City center in Dubai. Is it Dubai creek and Deira? or SZR north? or is it Burj Dubai area? that if we execlude the marina area as its part of the new Dubai, which maybe in my opinion should be the DT area for Dubai!
DennisS May 7th, 2009, 08:41 AM The first 807-room tower is scheduled to open in 2011 and the second tower in 2013.
No difference yet between the construction of both towers but I wonder why they will split up the construction process..
But thanks for the news however, sounds good!

saeed May 19th, 2009, 10:13 PM Is it lev 47?
Burj Duboy May 19th, 2009, 11:52 PM Level 39 actually. At least that's what the boards says.
Zollern May 20th, 2009, 04:17 PM ^^
saeed is right. If you count the number of levels in the pic there are about 47.
AltinD May 20th, 2009, 04:44 PM ^^ The number 39 refers to the number of regular floors that are located above the Ground, Mezzanine and Podium levels.
saeed May 20th, 2009, 11:15 PM ^^ So does this mean there will be 77 floors not including the podium at completion? !
for example 77+8= 85
or its just a method of counting repeated floors?
AltinD May 21st, 2009, 01:14 PM ^^ There are no repeated floors. 77 is the total number of above-ground floors.
Axel_F May 21st, 2009, 03:24 PM They are already really tall towers and are large than their near neighbors. Nice procress in a half year (pics from DesertDiver):

Can't find it anywhere. Doesn't say anything about the height here: http://www.emporis.com/ge/wm/cx/?id=115348 . It does however say it will be completed in 2010 and that it will only have 70 floors, but that could be without mech floors.
However in some news articles it does say it will be 376 metres : http://www.theage.com.au/news/business/multiplex-wins-715m-dubai-hotel-contract/2007/06/20/1182019182437.html and here https://www.zawya.com/story.cfm/sidZAWYA20070621050220/Multiplex%20Awarded%20Contract%20to%20Build%20Emirates%20Park%20Towers%20Hotel%20in%20Dubai and 395 metres I can only find on this forum and on wikipedia (but that's probably put there by skyscrapercity members)

Stephan23 July 1st, 2009, 01:27 PM PS: 80 floors high??!! Title?
Dan Hochhaus July 2nd, 2009, 05:36 PM On the renders of the entry post, I count 70 floors.
Let's see if the design has changed as much adding 10 storeys... the only difference I recognize so far is the converse alignment of the craning parts on the facade.
saeed July 2nd, 2009, 07:32 PM Height is changed !
Thats not true
Stephan23 July 5th, 2009, 08:09 PM 19 meters down !! :hm: Not that terrible !! :)
King of Construction July 5th, 2009, 08:21 PM Now it makes more sense that they don't make it 400+ meters. If it would have been 395 they only had to add 5 meters and it would be 400 meters.

King of Construction August 13th, 2009, 04:26 PM It can't have 26 floors to go. The spire is 65 meters long. So 376-65-current height 240= 71 meters until spire, and I think in the highest part there won't be real floors which have hotel rooms in them. Someone said that lowest 10 floors aren't counted in the labelling. So if it would be actually 61 floors atm, it would sound more believable. Only 16 floors to go.

King of Construction August 25th, 2009, 12:29 PM ^^
Ah ok so 16 floors to go is through. Almost there, it can be done before end of 2009.
CULWULLA August 25th, 2009, 11:54 PM im very confused here. anyhow ive worked out that the first 8 levels or so are equal to 12 hotel floors in actual height. so 55 + 12=67fl. or they are now up to main roof height of 282m.?
Also works out that those 3 sets of white angled structures which rise up the bldg, (each 12floors) you can see these in the photos, have 12 foors above the highest one which also means they have started on the first stepped in section above main roof.
so these arent far from topping out.

Ni3lS September 28th, 2009, 06:20 AM ^ English please.. Don't forget English is the number 1 world language and not Spanish.
The cladding looks sweet. Nice updates..
malec September 28th, 2009, 11:33 AM ^remember the floor count doesnt include the 9 below the hotel floors.(where cladding starts)
i count 63 hotel floors up to inside corebx. so add 9, thats=72.
they are nearly upto the main roof area.my diagram back on aug26 is wrong.
if avergae floor height= 3.65m? current height would make it 262m.?
I still think it's around 300m now. Just look here, vision tower is 260m high.
http://i30.tinypic.com/sl1i61.jpg
Axel_F September 28th, 2009, 12:09 PM I still think it's around 300m now. Just look here, vision tower is 260m high.
But vision tower is some rows behind. Good reference would be the DIP Tower on the left side of the EPTs. But we have no real height of DIP Tower...
I looked for the Millenium Tower. It is in the same row like EPTs. And Millenium Tower is 280m. And EPTs are some meters higher...so they hit 300m?!
234sale September 30th, 2009, 07:50 AM Agreed, must be above 300m.

CULWULLA October 1st, 2009, 03:49 AM I still think it's around 300m now. Just look here, vision tower is 260m high.
http://i30.tinypic.com/sl1i61.jpg
yeah sounds like it.
lev62 is now in corebox. not including 9 below hotel floors starts. so its about 71 floors high now.
right
ive worked out this thus far. if typical hotel floors are 4m high. thats 62x 4=248m
the 9 floors from grd to first hotel floor are equal to 13 hotel floo heights or 52m.
so 248m + 52m= 300m!
CULWULLA October 1st, 2009, 04:23 AM i must be getting close with diagram estimates?

EXACTLY 300m?? thats a little bit unrealistic...
but btw nice diagram cul
Dan Hochhaus October 1st, 2009, 02:20 PM I'm not convinced that the towers should be at the top of the tier already, as the lateral edges still don't jut out.
Great cladding btw! :)

Dan Hochhaus October 16th, 2009, 01:45 AM So the design must've been changed a bit... the towers don't look as extravagant as in the rendering (http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/1549/v4finalri2.jpg), but more straight vertical. But I like what I see, no doubt :)
AltinD October 16th, 2009, 11:21 AM ^^ No design change so far. It is as extravagant as the renders suggest, you just have to wait for the cladding on those parts to be completed but I can assure you that the almost completed sections (you can't see them on the pictures posted) look such and more.
Sentient Seas October 16th, 2009, 02:12 PM Looking great, thanks for the photos!

TXSkyWatcher October 17th, 2009, 12:01 AM As you can see in the photo above the cladding contains the 'fins' or overhangs. They are not structural. The 'crowns' up top might be different. This one is going to look just like the renders.

And it was a good decision IMO to swap the facade pattern between the towers from the render (http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/1549/v4finalri2.jpg). They are already dominating the skyline in Business Bay and west of Burj Dubai, I thought they were close to topping out but I was proved wrong. Another 13 floors plus spire left to be built and already incredibly high and awesome looking.
It is a shame that these two beauties remain the only supertalls that will be completed in BB for years. Really would have liked to see The Skyscraper, BAA and Signature Towers in this area too.
Dan Hochhaus December 26th, 2009, 04:02 PM ...I thought they were close to topping out but I was proved wrong. Another 13 floors plus spire left to be built and already incredibly high and awesome looking. ...Agree on what you say about Business Bay - but there aren't that much floors left anymore. If I got it right, we must add the 8 level tall podium to the "T-levels" to receive the floor number. Furthermore, signs for the two finished levels above T64 are missing, and above there's (at least) one more visible in the center.
So IMO it's 8 + 64 + 2 + 1 = 75 floors.:)
Btw., on this 25/November/2009 pic by Imre (http://i50.tinypic.com/2u9l8py.jpg), the floor above "T64" is labelled "SF4", so I think that's the first roof service floor.
I still wonder what both crowns will look like in the end - the narrow sides just don't jut out above floor 60 and step back several times near the top, as it was supposed to be. Of course that would be a nice surprise to see that jut out happen further up, so EPTs would have +80 floors in the end, but I don't believe this actually.
AltinD December 26th, 2009, 06:55 PM There are no more regular floors to be build.
