He was insistant that there will definately be a Mosque in the Marina, surprise,surprise he couldnt/wouldnt tell me where.

Anyone know anyhing about this ?

steve, those pictures are great! They really show the marina becoming a nice place. I'm also beginning to appreciate the jumeirah beach residence a bit more. The colours seem well chosen so that even though it's really dense there still is a lot of light. The whole area at ground level seems to be getting better and better.
The only thing that sticks out is the lack of people walking around, something which I wouldn't be used to seeing with such density. But I suppose there aren't many shops open and also, the area will need to be given a few years before the towers are all occupied.

I thought on the Marina side infront of Jewels True Blue did mention it was some kind of greeney but yes around the back is bus station or thats where buses are leaving from at the moment.

Shocking how in the UK it takes 6 months to rapair half a mile of a lane on the M4.

I cant believe the speed they build roads in Dubai, or drive on them once built for that mattter.

Yes, it is quite incredible the speed at which roads, bridges and the metro rise here. Buildings, despite the thousands sprouting everywhere, unfortunately proceed more slowly.

The new bridge is almost ready. :)

I suspect someone will grip this problem soon - as it's going to be a big deal if the marina is going to be labelled as "dirty". During the construction process I suspect there is a lot of ill discipline with respect to rubbish - and although I don't wish to be unfair to them I expect a lot of the plastic bottles and food wrappers in the water are as a result of construction workers discarding them without a thought or a care for the environment. Although it is a problem at present I'm convinced it wont be allowed to be a problem for long. The reputation of this development internationally is too important for those in control to allow marine pollution to be an issue which might spoil the success. Lets face it there is plenty of labour to keep the water clean and in due course I expect skimming macines will patrol the marina daily collection up the floating detritus for proper disposal. This is what happens in most ports.

I am not sure. I know dishes are not allowed in the Torch so I am surprised that they are allowed here.

Are there any large plots left apart from the one in front of the torch that could accomodate 3 towers?
Lets hope they have a good design anyway. I'd be concerned about the traffic a 100 storey office tower would bring

Jesus I've just been reading some of the posts here on various Marina projects as thinking of buying into one,I think maybe I'll change my mind!There seems to be alot of

As for these bridges,I love the bridges in Dubai when i visit,gleaming white,the entrance to Palm J and over at Festival City are fantastic.

Dubai Marina is a parking nightmare, if you by mistake decided to visit a friend or have coffee in this prestigious address, be aware that you will either need to spend 2 hours looking for a place to park, or park 1 KM away and hike your way through construction leftovers to get to your Destination, and risk getting a parking fine. Parking is always a challenge.

I avoid malls, marina, and many places during weekend, to avoid such situations, trust me , I am not a spoiled brat, I use my car very sensibly, I car pool to work, whenever I am going out with friends we try to use one car max. I refused to buy a big car, all to save the environment. I promise I will use the metro, tram and bike whenever possible. However, Dubai marina/ Marina Walk is a different story. Where will visitors/users park?

Are those F&B outlets only catering to the residents of the buildings, is it intended that everybody are going to walk to get here? Or what? This remains a mystery! I did some research, I checked Dubai municipality standards and it says for every 500 SQ ft commercial space, 1 parking bay is needed, this mean that if we have 20 outlets in the marina walk , each of which an average 100 SQ. M of indoor area , you do the math. Add to that that this commercial space is often expanded to the outdoor area, which triples its capacity and consequently its parking requirements.
