Hi from Down Under. After attending the 4th Test at the MCG with almost 90,000 others it got me thinking about my trip to the UK in 2009 to see some test cricket and whether I could secure a ticket in your smaller grounds. I have a few questions.

1. When do the Test match tickets usually go on sale?

2. Where do they go on sale? Phone, booking agency, Internet?

3. Can foreign tourists obtain tickets?

4. Can one obtain a ticket as part of an organised tour?

5. What are the test cricket venues and what is their crowd capacity?

6. Are plans underway at any of the venues in Q5 to renovate and/or build larger stands?

Many thanks.

1. Not sure
2. Phone or internet best - probably easiest to view the website of the home cricket club eg for Headingley go to Yorkshire CC website?
3. Don't see why not
4. You probably can but it's a surefire way to pay over the odds. The UK is easy and safe to travel round.
5. Not sure which venues will be used in 09 but capacity generally 15-25k
6. I know there are big plans for Headingley with upto 2 major new stands.

There will be no tests at Old Trafford and Trent Bridge, they are replace by Headingly(Leeds) and Sophia Gardens(Cardiff-needs a lot of work)

Does that mean they still get ODIs?

Anyone got any details on the redevelopment of the Pavilion end at the Oval?

Surrey County Cricket Club announced today that it is in the early stages of planning the next phase of the development of its historic home ground, the Brit Oval, in partnership with the Arora International Hotel Group.
The proposals involve the improvement of existing facilities at the Pavilion end of the ground, with the creation of a new integrated stand and hotel design. By demolishing the existing Surrey Tavern, the front entrance to the ground would be completely opened up and finished with an elegant piazza, allowing the original Pavilion building to be fully appreciated by visitors and passers by.
Surrey County Cricket Club are looking to improve existing facilities at the Pavilion end of the ground. The current Lock and Laker stands would be replaced with a new stand built to house an additional 2,000 seats, whilst a four star hotel is planned to back onto the stand.
