Jiangwho January 1st, 2007, 05:28 AM any construction pic???
Kenwen January 1st, 2007, 05:35 PM i got a star war feelin from this
Renato Leao January 26th, 2007, 08:30 AM beautiful!!!
CULWULLA January 29th, 2007, 01:14 PM has this started? if so ill add to worlds tall diagram, but i need evidence.
great184 May 2nd, 2007, 05:52 AM Whatever happened to this project?
giovani kun May 2nd, 2007, 07:28 AM Aren't there too many radio transmitters ??? I think they'll make phis project in each chinese city....looks like Guangzhou one...:bash:
Mr. Alloy May 24th, 2007, 02:28 AM I think it looks like an arm with the muscles exposed. At Bodyworlds (http://www.bodyworlds.com/en.html), it was cool. At 300+ meters tall... Not so much.
Mosaic May 24th, 2007, 07:29 AM incredible design!!!
Reinsdorf Sucks May 24th, 2007, 07:36 AM I think it looks like an arm with the muscles exposed. At Bodyworlds (http://www.bodyworlds.com/en.html), it was cool. At 300+ meters tall... Not so much.
I agree, I immediately thought of muscles.
This is a pretty nice design none the less!
beyond 1000 May 24th, 2007, 08:14 AM I like it with all my 1069 lbs.
UD2 May 24th, 2007, 09:20 AM every city must have a TV tower, but only the important ones get the tall ones... I think that's what's going on.
as happy as I am for Zhenzhou, I truly believe that this is a spectacular case of over doing it. This tower is too busy visually to be appealing in the long run. I have a feeling that this is one of those things that people will think is "cool" at the first glance, and then get more and more annoyed by it as time goes by.
but that's just my opinion.
counstruction starts Dec of this year.
ps. there won't be an overpopulation of radio-emmitters with the counstruction of TV towers. because cities that do not have a dedicated TV tower just ends up mounting them on top of tall buildings. So the radio emission stays the same, but buildings just won't have eye-soreing chunck of steel on their roofs.
b1gh0u5e May 24th, 2007, 09:45 AM The US seems to be going the internet/cable/satellite route for broadcasting systems, BUT China is building these CN Tower-like structures which seem to be an outdated form of transmitting. But then again, HD signals do come in better via over the air transmission versus cable. Have the Chinese advanced antenna broadcasting in some crazy new way? What is the reason for the sudden construction of these towers? Can they broadcast multiple HD signals from one of these towers and if so, how many? I think they are great towers, I'm just curious what the thinking is behind them.
UD2 May 24th, 2007, 09:49 AM the US/Canada still send/recieve their signals using towers, which then is transfered to households using cable/sat.
radio wave is always transmitted by air.
Internet is cable based at the local level only. They don't drag cables across countries.
And USA/Canada have planty of there towers around, they just don't look as good.

leo82 June 29th, 2007, 04:22 AM que bacano se ve muy fututista
cs88 June 29th, 2007, 09:54 AM ^^ Awesome design. It looks like Burj al Alam if it had a spire.
great184 June 29th, 2007, 01:26 PM You will really appreciate it in the large renders, by seeing all the intricate details that does not even seem too complex. Whats its status though? hmm
Sbz2ifc June 30th, 2007, 12:19 AM I like the top, but everything leading up to it is a bit too much.
xiaoluis June 30th, 2007, 01:11 AM Oh nice!!! looks very futuristic...

deepblue01 November 17th, 2008, 06:00 PM Wow, this tower rivals the gaungzhou tv tower. Both are very spectacular
DamienK November 18th, 2008, 11:34 AM Amazing design! Can't wait to see this one completed.
Shortest Skyscraper November 18th, 2008, 08:00 PM That top part of the tower that looks like space-rocket boosters turned upside-down, are actually real space-rocket boosters; so, at the end, when the tower is finished, the final part would be to fire-up the rocket-boosters, as they are... and the force of the upward thrust will push the tower downward and deeper into the ground: That's a great way to stabilize the tower, isn't it!?
ZZ-II November 18th, 2008, 09:10 PM another great new tower for the TV-Tower section in the ROT
dave markon November 19th, 2008, 01:35 AM what do you think ?another same, but yet different (http://pawst.com/post/587777-awesome-television-tower) perspective of tv towers....

droneriot February 22nd, 2009, 02:51 AM It is quite tall. My guess would be 250 meters or so.
ARRE February 22nd, 2009, 06:53 AM great landmark of Zhengzhou!
skyscraper100 February 22nd, 2009, 07:09 AM it looks taller in the render :S

foxmulder_ms February 22nd, 2009, 06:52 PM isn't 388m tall ?:)
ZZ-II February 22nd, 2009, 08:06 PM yes. it probably looks not that tall because of the quite long spire
deepblue01 February 23rd, 2009, 12:20 PM isn't 388m tall ?:)
388m is actually quite a tall height
SilentStrike February 23rd, 2009, 05:47 PM nah, look at the render. The bottom of the real one is much fatter

The progress of this amazing tower blows my mind.

UD2 February 25th, 2009, 04:29 AM it doesn't look tall folks because it is so wide. use that crane as reference.
madsidsav March 4th, 2009, 10:12 AM Is it just me or is the bottom section reminiscent of an Egyptian temple?
droneriot March 20th, 2009, 04:10 AM Another month has passed, should be time for another update. ;)

thanks for the update
Jude12 March 21st, 2009, 10:09 AM Oh yeah! now that's what you call a fast construction! :okay:
sqly1983 March 21st, 2009, 10:52 AM you guys all missed the most important point of this tower design, I remember I have read this before. It is said this after this tower is completed, when you look at it from the sky, it will appear to be a gorgeous blooming blossom!!! Just think about the shape of the tower and image it, coz I don't have any pic atm. Look at the top, it has a flat roof with the flower shape, and the lower part of the tower are actually leaves! Yes, it is going to be a flower seen from the sky!!!!!
sqly1983 March 21st, 2009, 10:54 AM I have to post it again, so that most people will notice what I said!

sqly1983 March 21st, 2009, 10:58 AM I think this is the most amazing part of the design! A flower, and can only be seen from a specific angle! I hope someone can post a photo to illustrate this.
NorthLimitation March 21st, 2009, 11:54 AM What a fantastic building! A lot of thought put into this one, looks a bit like a trophey.
sqly1983 March 21st, 2009, 03:15 PM I don't usually pay much attention on tall buildings, especially TV towers. I try not to be biased in the judgment, because I come from ZZ city, however, I just can't stop myself liking this one. I really like it. I don't give it any credit on being futuristic. It looks truly muscular with the strong steel supporting structure and also feminist in the design since it secretly appears to be a blooming flower!!! This is really a design beyond my imagination!!!
Jude12 March 21st, 2009, 03:31 PM ^^ why post so much? :dunno:
delores March 22nd, 2009, 07:00 AM Looks 'alright' but I think someones getting a bit too excited about this one, its not that great. Ps that new housing looks terrible in that picture.
tony8 March 23rd, 2009, 09:06 PM The best of design! Fantastic design!
redstone March 24th, 2009, 12:55 AM Emission tower sounds odd. Why not just say "broadcast tower"

ssfan April 13th, 2009, 05:16 PM It seems that this tower also has lots of inhabitable levels, just like Guangzhou TV tower.
antovador April 17th, 2009, 08:56 PM It will be better if spire is redesign.
bluens April 17th, 2009, 10:33 PM Really like the render, and the construction pics are impressive.
However, I think I'm going to end up being disappointed by the end result :(, but I'll wait and see.

droneriot June 24th, 2009, 10:59 PM For some reason this thread keeps being forgotten.
MontanaGuy June 25th, 2009, 12:40 AM This project is one I find particularly interesting and I'm always looking for new photos but the last one looks like it's a month old. It's more than twice as tall as the Space Needle and I think it has a great futuristic design. It must be close to topping out so I hope we see some photo updates soon.
droneriot June 30th, 2009, 07:37 AM I'm sorry if I'm being obnoxious, just hoping someone with a skyscrapers.cn account stumbles upon this thread...

foxmulder December 20th, 2009, 06:11 PM Thanks for the GREAT update. Tower looks great. My favorite emission tower. It pushed guangzhou TV tower to 2nd place :)
MontanaGuy December 20th, 2009, 07:12 PM To those who didn't like the appearance of the latest photos take a look at some of the shots that show the entire structure on earlier posts and the original render to get a better idea of how this really looks. I think it's quite a striking piece of architecture and it's quite futuristic and original. These latest photos show some of the details closer up to show the progress that's been made on various parts of the tower which I really appreciate because I was disappointed at how little attention it received during the course of it's construction. As you can probably tell I really like it.
antovador December 20th, 2009, 09:36 PM This tower is unique and original, it is more than a simple com tower. Thanks for update. I saw some forum's haters are so blind they never apreciate originality and others things over conformism.

It's is the goddess Nu Wa,a nearly female figure in Chinese mythology. According to one legend it was she who was the creator of mankind.
The earth was a beautiful place with blossoming trees and flowers, and full of animals, birds, fish and all living creatures. But as she wandered about it Nu Wa felt very lonely. She bent down and took up a handful of earth, mixed it with water and molded a figure in her likeness. As she kneaded it the figure came alive -the first human being. Nu Wa was so pleased with her creation that she went on making more figures both men and women.
