Nice pics! Milano is definitely one of my favorite cities: great place, great people, great shopping, great nightlife and they have some awesome architectural projects for the next years.
I think it's one of the cool cities in Europe, much more than London which in my opinion is just overrated.

Milan offers much higher quality of life than other Italian cities that attract hordes of tourists. It has an amazing city center, lots of luxurious shops and a convenient subway network, but the most impressive fact is that the Milanese are the most beautiful people in Europe. Nowhere else is the average person on the street dressed more fashionably than in Milan.

Yeah, great city, always like to see its picstures here.

Also, now the plans for a new and very innovative skyscraper cluster whose team of designers include names such as Hadid, Isozaki and Liebeskind, will enter Milan into the future world with a boom!!!

Nowhere else is the average person on the street dressed more fashionably than in Milan. The Milanese are well dressed for sure, but quality of life I would dispute. Let's face it Milan is not a pretty city, heavily polluted and with many of the social ills big cities face. Still, a great city in a very rich region (Lombardia) of Europe.

Milan has all the pros and cons of a large city. Saying that it's polluted and that the quality of air is not as high as in Innsbruck or Lausanne is just useless.

said by someone who lives in the nearest city to Milan (Turin) and who is very envious os some aspects of the Milan life, that's definitiely true. Milan peolple's dressing is the most fashionable at least in Italy.
When I see in my city someone whose dressing likes "different" from others one, quite always he comes from Milan.
What about the other Fashion Capital in Europe??

Only I can say that I have been charmed with the photos, since I am not lucky to have travelled there. I have been in Italy but not in Milan, nevertheless Ryanair now offers flights from Granada up to Milan and some time ago that I think that it will be my next destination.

Milan is the bastion of one of the richest regions and of Europa's major prosperity. The beauty of his classic architecture is evident and in addition it possesses good projects for the future.

Thank you Spotter for these photos showing us.

There surely are some great discos and clubs here and there, mainly at some distance from the center, but you really have to go for them. In downtown Milan you hardly have any choice where to have a drink. It took us long to find some bars at the end of Corso di P.ta Ticinece (maybe 4 or 5). And yes, we asked many locals where to find them.

It's not like here in Amsterdam where you can find all kinds of bars at every street corner, along the canals, and at our piazzas. Not to mention the 30/40 large discos and clubs of which many are located in the city center.
Now I know that's not a European standard, but Milan was just boring after sunset, unless you have a bigger wallet than I have, and you can visit a club somewhere near the outskirts.

It was also hard to find a convenient restaurant.

And still the large part of the city looks like the edges of Salou or Lloret de Mar. The center has some really beautifull streets and the main square is awesome, but I wouldn't call Milan a beautifull city myself. Many parts of the citycenter are damaged by 'new' buildings, often not in proportion to their surroundings. I call it the Brussels-effect. (sorry Belgians, it's not meant as an insult, rather a comparison). Also the huge low-rise office neigbourhood next to the city center reminded me of Brussels.

imo Milan is a mix of Brussels, Rome and Vienna (though I only know Vienna of pictures) and the outskirts are like Salou.

I agree that Milan has suffered of what you call the "Brussels effect" but I don't share most of your statements on the city especially when you compare it to Amsterdam.
As you say, in Amterdam you can find many clubs and bars in one single block but I have to add that most of them are not bigger than a tiny room which makes it almost impossible to dance or get a drink there and the only thing you can do is to try to make your way through the people. And I did not ask to locals I was with locals, with inhabitants of the city!!!
It's just not true that downtown Milan has only a couple of bars and clubs downtown: there are many of them and yes, most of them are very chic and expensive but personally I prefer to spend a little more than going to a club where I can't almost move.
As for the city, well I don't think Amsterdam has anything really stunning: not the royal palace, not a particular church. It is just a pleasant city to walk around and it has 2 first class museuems the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum and that's about it.
Morover the coffeeshops and the redlight district attract a high number of freaks and dodgly people from all over the world which make the city not that safe at night.
In fact, when you happen to talk about Amsterdam with the dutch people, many of them keep on repeating that the rest of the Netherlands is not like Amsterdam as if they were kinda ashamed of their capital city: this is also something wierd that I noticed.

Next time don't go to the city centre in Milan for fun, you won't find anything at night, coz every night place is in many parts of the city,
Navigli as well as in Ticinese, or you can go to Marghera, Porta Romana,
Brera and Garibaldi or Porta Venezia, these are some part of town where you can find whatever you want for fun and drink. And as well as in many other cities in the world there are places where you can spend a lot or less, Milan is a little expensive.

Thanks for your view on Amsterdam. The ´room sized´ esteblishments you talk about are evrywhere indeed, but there are dozens of danceclubs and grand cafés in the center as well. And you can easily find them.

I didn´t say Milan hasn´t got a sufficient level of bars, but I meant to explain that they´re hard to find. It didn´t come up to me to walk all the way to Brera from the Duomo to have a look.

Dutchmen who pretend to be ashamed of their capital focus to much on their hatred for Ajax, their anxiousness for immigrants and the sixties-reputations of many drugusers on the street. I think most of them haven´t seen much of the city.

And indeed the plane back to Amsterdam was stuck with Italian youth,
hungry for a joint;)

Hey, don't be so irritative. :) I think that Milan is nice city. Foggy days and fallen leafs on the streets it's normal in autumn. As too a traffic jams - traffic jams are caused by a huge amount of cars. Generally it means that people have possibility to buy cars. :)

For comparison - traffic jam in my native city - Kiev
