I'd heard of this proposal, but had no idea that they had done this much red tape work on it. It's kinda long, but interesting nonetheless.

There's no way I'm gonna be able to read all through that, but any improvement to Union Station sounds like a good idea. From the pictures, I saw only one problem: it looks like the Gold Line bridge over the 101 gets in the way of those proposals. Would anyone else agree?

ha ha! yep looks like someone forgot about this?
cant they do it to the other side of the split rail ends?

There's a different version of the plans which was on a site called "runthroughtracks.org" (whichis no longer online). There would be four tracks going over the freeway, all directly east of the Gold Line LRT bridge.
The Gold Line tracks are the extreme westernmost platform tracks in Union Station, all the other train tracks are east of them.

^^ Is that the same proposal "Fullerton" is referring to?
