In case everyone doesn't already know this; Gibraltar is only the pointy bit, which is easily distinguishable because of its dominant feature, the Rock,

with La Linea

on the other side, and I think that's Algeciras across the bay.

Gibralter is home to Europe's only population of monkeys, the Barbary Macaque,

The name Gibraltar, like so many others on southern Iberia, is from Arabic Jabal Ţāriq, meaning "mountain of Tariq". Yes, I stole that from Wikipedia :)

God I never realised how tiny it is, it looks less than a square mile or habitable land.

It is small, but I enjoyed the week I spent there and there are at present quite a few new developments going up.

My left arm got molested by one of those apes and believe me they are difficult to get rid off.

I have a friend who works in Gibraltar and lives in La Linea, he cycles to work and has to show his passport and cycle across theairport runway to get into Gibraltar.

I visited him a couple of years ago and Giraltar is small, it only takes 20-30 mins to walk from the border to the tip of the rock.
