Nope, that large viaduct is in Slovenia and the last picture seems to be Chinese. Turkish motorways are nearly always 2x3 lanes and 2x2 roads are of lower quality often.

When you delete these two photos that are not Turkey, Turkish motorways are one of the reasons why I love Turkey!

E87: Does it follow D.100 or O.3 between D.555 and D.550 near Babeaeski?

E88: Does it stop at O.20 east of Ankara, enter Ankara on D.200, follow the north part of O.20 to meet O.4/E89, or follow the southern half of O.20 to meet E90/D.750?

E89: Does it stop at O.20 northwest of Ankara or continue south on O.20 to stop at D.200/E90?

E96: How does it reach O.30 from D.300? Or does it stop at E881 somewhere before reaching O.30?

E881: How does it reach O.30 from D.565?

Finally, E981 [Afyon-Konya- Junction (Aksaray-Pozantı) ( on the State road linking Ankara and Mersin)] and E982 [Mersin- Junction Tarsus East (on the motorway linking Ankara and Adana on E90)] are designations that are only about 2 years old. Are they now marked on signs along those routes?

Finally, who is Debs-the dog or the lady?:lol:

Sorry for the late reply, I sent your complain to our guys (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=76346591#post76346591). Also, cmap.m-plex.com site doesn't open in Turkey, probably blocked for silly reasons (even if it's suitable with that silly code 5651).

BTW two days ago, I've took photos of Afyon-Ankara road where its D-200 part is transit. I'll upload them at next page. (or remove some photos of Matt posted by me.)

Many Urban highways (Located on İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir vb.) are now owned and maintenanced by Municipalities as KGM's maps verify: ( http://www.kgm.gov.tr/Sayfalar/KGM/SiteEng/Root/Maps.aspx and http://www.kgm.gov.tr/Sayfalar/KGM/SiteTr/Root/otoyolharitalari.aspx ) So that applies both former D- and E- numbered roads.

And last, E-87 stops on D-650 Intersection, doesn't reach Central Antalya.

BTW are you planning to add State (D-XXX) and provincal (XX-XX) roads of Turkey?

I thought Sivrihisar-Ankara D-200/E-90 is a concrete paved 2x3 lane road. At least, it's transit with diamond interchanges and the only one level intersection is at Polatlı. After Polatlı, the road is 2x3 til Ankara.

^^ If that was an Otoyol, a trunk road should included parallel. Edirne-İstanbul-Bolu Otoyol follows D-100, Mersin-Adana-Şanlıurfa follows D-400 and the partially completed Ankara-Adana follows D-750.

Maybe that's an advantage of being an E-road and close to Ankara. There's no interchanges built yet on Antalya-Denizli E-87. Its dividement completed on last year (inc. Korkuteli beltway).

Today i came to visit Istanbul and got a KGS toll card when entering the Edirne-Istanbul motorway. I credited it with 50 TRL, but actually Edirne-Istanbul costs about 6,5 TRL in one way, so when coming back home i'll have some 37 TRL unused credit on my KGS card. Could you please tell me if it is possible to get a refund of this credit at the toll points or in the banks issuing KGS cards? Thank you!

Are there other letter-suffixed motorway numbers besides O-21A?

O-21 is Adana-Ankara and O-21A connects O-21 to Konya (Still mostly u/c)
I don't know about any more probably they are planned

There are other long motorway spurs that are already built or partially. The Gazantiep bypass and the O-52 - O-53 north-south connector come to mind. Are these motorways, or other motorway spurs ("access roads"), given their own designation, similar to how O-21A has a different designation than O-21?

I haven't been in TR by car more then two years, but until then there was toll boxes for paying in cash. So it was NOT ONLY for KGS/OGS.

But, I bought KGS card because it is very good thing and there was no queue for KGS toll boxes.

What is the status of the Gaziantep bypass? Is it fully open to traffic, or is only part of it open? When will the whole bypass be open to traffic?

As Google Maps, Gaziantep ringroad is completed I see. Also, you can see the extension of Bursa Beltway on Yandex Maps (and I think that, it's a useless extension).

On E5 Motorway yes, all electronic. You can't pay in cash. But you can use card system which you top up previously and touch the reader at the toll gate. On TEM, you can still pay in cash.

so generally to pass the bridge you must have or electronic toll transporder, or you must buy smart card (KGS)? that is nice improvment, but they should have left few lanes with automatic card payment. authorization of credit cards is today as fast as reading the smart cards

exactly. electronic toll transporder takes time for registering at bank etc. but you can get KGS card easily from many places such as Shell petrol stations and you can top up as much as you like and pay as you go. so no need to pay by cc to be honest. but maybe in the future, when they remove cash payment from second bridge too.

At one point, I was actually thinking of daydreaming about a massive roadtrip whenever I plan to visit Turkey. So I tested it out to see how long it would take and my god, google maps suggested a drive time of AT LEAST TEN HOURS :nuts:

From: Ataturk International Airport (Istanbul)

to: Mardan Palace Hotel (Antalya)

That is already inclusive of 100+ kilometers of driving along D650 :lol:

and obviously, I'd have to allocate time for bathroom breaks and a few meals.

Thankfully, Turkey allows speeds of 120 km/h in certain major roads so I'm hoping that should save up some time......I think. Oh and damn, I forgot to consider traffic conditions as well.

I already factored the possibility of flying from Ataturk<->Antalya Airport (i.e. I heard Turkish Airlines offers Business class in that sector......with Personal TVs in each seat).

Thing is, I would want to be able to drive a car when I'm in Turkey.........and since I've observed that violent crime/murder/homicide is quite low in Turkey (note: If any Turks here say otherwise, then please correct me on this), well then........

Supersport version with 500+ hp, 625 Nm max torque and 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds should help me drive Istanbul<->Antalya in less than the suggested 10 hour drive time........or at least that's what I've been thinking about.

^^ Unfortunately, the speed limit is 90kph because D650 is a blue shield road, not green like O- coded ones.

120 km/h for motorways and 110 km/h for 2x2 highways. 90 km/h is the old limit.

Hmm.......you know what. I think my body can't handle a drive of more than 10 hours. I guess it's better to go with this approach then:
-Turkish Airlines Business Class (Ataturk->Antalya)
-Ship Jaguar XJ Supersport by helicopter from Levent, Bestikas Jaguar dealership to Antalya Airport
-Drive Jaguar XJ to Mardan Palace Hotel

I drove in 2010 Bucharest-Antalya in one leg, leaving Bucharest at 4 am and arriving in Antalya at around midnight. The trip from Istanbul to Antalya is not a difficult one so I would choose car over flying because I can better see the landscape, which is quite interesting on the route.

PS. Mardan Palace Hotel looks really nice, I saw it from outside, I stayed in Kremlin Palace, which is nearby :)

I drove already 4 times from Amsterdam to Istanbul. The fastest I could do was 23 hours, it was around 2.700/800 km. And two times from Istanbul to Erzurum (far east Turkey), but NO WAY again..

Haha yeah. Said to be the most premium and most expensive hotel in Turkey (either that or Kempinski Ciragan palace hotel). Either way, those hotels are mainly for the bigshots and big bank accounts. :nuts:
