put in mind that the first 10 floors of Uhuru Heights is parking and Offices meaning the ceiling height is 8ft high and the rest is residential with 6ft high ceiling level. For Millennium tower, all 27 floors are offices/commercial with 8ft high ceiling level.

I may be wrong...I think Mwananchi knows the consultant for Millennium towers, he can help us on this on.

@Kiligoland...Apparently the tender for mzizima towers was supposed to be award last quarter of 2011.So far nothing is happening...NSSF has 3 different building projects that will mature soon.1 is Mzizima towers 2 is Maarifa House 3 is ilala branch tower.Atleast these 3 are on advance level.

I have been going through this thread and others which show the projects being built and proposals and i have to say, Dar has one of the worst modern architects this world has ever seen! over 80% of the buildings are abysmal ie not appealing at all and u cant even waste your time taking pictures of them!! what in the world was the designer of Rita and Samora towers thinking?( to mention but a few).C'mon people lets make Dar look more appealing and beautiful and not like an old communist state. Although may be i think its bse the competition for architects isnt that strong, so they arent pushed enough to come up with new fantastic ideas or they are just plainly and ignorantly lazy (which is a far better and preferable explanation).

unfortunately im not an architect student..but me and you, and most of the people here want the same thing for dar ie too look more beautiful..I just think we arent doing enough..before erecting high rise buildings, we should start by comprehensively cleaning the city and have an organisation responsible for that.

Anyone knowing what is going to come up on this plot? I passed by this area yesterday and found a busy team of people demolishing the building at the junction of Ghana and Mirambo street on the precincts of Gymkhana club close to Mirambo and Umoja Houses.

I was just discussing with a friend yesterday about this. lets wait and see what is planned but I think those voda and tigo shops along Ohio should also be demolished.

I saw this pic from the website Kiligoland gave above.. the caption was that it is a daladala stand at Makumbusho area, is this related to DART ??

I guess so, DART has many projects and you can find feeder stations and roads have been done by different companies around the city, the only thing we are waiting now is the main terminal near KAMATA , the area recently cleared and BRT lanes from a German company.

Australian SMEC International is working on jangwani station, see the work has started

the first phase of DART does not cover Makumbusho.Makumbusho was planned by Kinondoni municipal to have a bus terminal around Kijitonyama.

kweli...utadhani jiji fulani kwenye fukwe la Mediterranean...we still need to work on own waterfront in terms of atleast a double lane road,promenade with walking paths,street lights,park with Palm trees lined-up. Yaani kuanzia Ferry hadi mwisho wa nssf waterfront inahitaji kufumuliwa.

It is more than one place. The top two and the second from the top on the left are in Mikocheni in Dar es Salaam. A recent development, I think it is called Dar Village. The Bottom left and the second from the bottom are in Slipway in Dar es Salaam. It is kinda of a small mall setup by slipway properties that runs a hotel and some rentals. The dhows are in the bay between slipway and Mikocheni. The rest I don't recognize. On no wait on second thought they might be at the Sea Cliff hotel.

Who knows what will come up at the junction of Mirambo and Ghana avenue opposite Gymkhana club? I have seen the new developer has taken two plots. Obviously this is not a small project. I was told it is an international hotel but did not get sufficient details.

It seems construction may start soon...considering the location...I would be thrilled if it is a 25 storey.

I fully agree. They must have paid at least US$ 3m for the two plots. They need to utilize the space to the maximum possible benefit and this calls for a high rise building.
