Superb! What a power!
kokpit January 16th, 2007, 05:36 PM Nice to see Czech singer is known also in Poland, it's quite rare I think. I'm surprised she is able to speak and understand Polish, I have big difficulties to understand even few words, she had to learn it for sure. It's easier to read a text in Polish for me though.
BTW, Jerzy Stuhr is quite famous here (and old polish comedies from Machulski as well :) )

Do you really have big difficulties? I have not such a problem to understand the Czech language, but I don't try to speak Czech, because as you surely know, the same word can have vvveeeerryyy oposite meaning(not rarely vulgar) and I could insult someone by an accident:)

many word are similar, but I'm talking about spoken Polish language, pronunciation is different and to me it seems Poles are talking very quicky so I understand only few words, you are simply too fast for me :)

Try to read this dialog:
“- Ja to proszę pana, mam bardzo dobre połączenie. Wstaję rano, za piętnaście trzecia. Latem to już widno. Za piętnaście trzecia jestem ogolony. Bo golę się wieczorem, śniadanie jadam na kolację. Tylko wstaję i wychodzę.
- No, ubierasz się pan.
- W płaszcz, jak pada. Opłaca mi się rozbierać po śniadaniu?
- A fakt.
- Do PKS (CSAD in CZ) mam 5 kilometry. O czwartej za piętnaście jest PKS.
- I zdążasz pan?
- Nie… ale i tak mam dobrze, bo jest przepełniony i nie zatrzymuje się. Przystanek idę do mleczarni, to jest godzinka… i potem szybko wiozą mnie do Szymanowa (village under Warsaw). Mleko, wiesz pan ma najszybszy transport, inaczej się zsiada. W Szymanowie zsiadam, znoszę bańki i łapię EKD (elektricka). Na Ochocie(*) w elektryczny, do Stadionu(*districts of Warsaw). I góra 22.50 jestem z powrotem. Golę się, jem śniadanie i idę spać.”
This dialog is from comedy "Co mi zrobisz jak mnie złapiesz" (What Will You Do When You Catch Me?) by St. Bareja

She has a polish husband.
kokpit May 4th, 2007, 10:26 AM ^ no, she married only few years ago for some rich Czech. May be she had some Polish friend formely but I don't know.
delfin_pl May 4th, 2007, 10:32 AM i think she just spent so much time in Poland with Maryla Rodowicz (her friend) that she finaly learned to speak polish fluently, its not hard for slavs to learn another slavic language.
kokpit May 4th, 2007, 10:36 AM some videoclips of her songs ;)

Yes, I sometimes read some Polish newspapers on internet and I understand more and more I think :)
Norkey May 4th, 2007, 04:27 PM Well, H.V. she is quite unpopular in Czech rep., especially among young generation (<30). And her new tv advertisement fof polish 'Koral' is in a word weird.. :ohno:
she was also nominated for national round of Eurovision song contest, luckily for us she dissolved her participation here..
kokpit May 4th, 2007, 07:28 PM ^ may be she would be better option than Kabát... current czech pop-music suck anyway...

How they got into that contest anyway?
kokpit May 4th, 2007, 09:24 PM ^ no idea... I'm somehow not interested in these "contests"...

Me either, just being curious..To me they don´t fit in this kind of contest because there are more younger singers and groups as far as I know.
kokpit May 4th, 2007, 09:37 PM I hate them. And I've watched them only twice or so.
Norkey May 4th, 2007, 10:50 PM I hate them. And I've watched them only twice or so.
Well, I slightly disagree, :bash: but.. I think they have no chance to success in this contest with song "Malá dáma," it's very slow, they had better (Bára, Má jí motorovou, Pohoda, Na Sever, Burlaci). However, many singers refused to participate on this kind of contest, so only "waste" (Gipsy.cz, terrible roma noises) stayed there...
kokpit May 4th, 2007, 11:03 PM it will be one of the biggest dishonours of CZ ever...
