View Full Version : Fort Wayne - USA
james2390 June 5th, 2003, 06:49 AM Fort Wayne is a small city in Indiana with about 200,000 people. I live about 2 hours away from it in the mishawaka/ south bend area. It has some awesome buildings, take a look:

ParraMan January 12th, 2004, 03:15 AM 5
OK, but lacks density due to having too many carparks. Not bad for a city its size though.
Big! January 12th, 2004, 06:45 PM 5/10
renell January 12th, 2004, 07:26 PM 6/10 small, but well, it's only 200,000 people
Imperfect Ending February 5th, 2004, 07:09 AM 3/10
nothing much
Necker February 9th, 2004, 11:24 AM Nice square in the second pic, but I don't like the city.

skyperu34 June 12th, 2004, 08:20 PM good looking city with some classic buildings that make it very special....7.5
154th Floor June 13th, 2004, 04:57 AM Kind of neat for a city of its small size. 7/10
What's the building with the dome? Looks like a church.
Aaron W July 20th, 2004, 06:59 AM I grew up in Northwest Ohio, just 10 minutes from the Indiana line. As a young child, Fort Wayne was *the* big city for me (along with Toledo). I loved the skyline as a kid, haha. It's not really impressive anymore after having visited cities like NYC, Philly, Chicago, and Vancouver, but it does hold some sentimental value for me. Here are a few more pictures:

LouisvilleJake January 5th, 2005, 01:44 AM I do not like Fort Wayne, but the skyline is cute to pass through in the middle of nowhere Indiana. 4.5/10
hauntedheadnc January 6th, 2005, 02:18 AM Not much quantity, but stellar quality, especially in the form of Lincoln Tower. I give the skyline a 7.
MIMICA January 6th, 2005, 02:21 AM I haven't seen any density, yet...In some reasons, I'd like to visit...Nothing that special though. :(
I give it a 4/10 because of it's low population...
MattSal March 19th, 2005, 05:41 PM Fort Wayne, USA (Indiana)
Population: 219,495 in city and 559,619 in metro
The second largest city in the state of Indiana (Indianapolis is the largest)

MattSal March 19th, 2005, 05:48 PM I've seen many a skyline in my day, but this one's pretty good. Some nice old buildings and a historic downtown area.
I give it a 6/10. :okay:
Monkey March 19th, 2005, 05:51 PM Some fairly good midrises; nothing really tall though, and the cluster needs bulking out to give it more cohesion.
5.5
Ashok March 19th, 2005, 05:56 PM not bad, the skyline seems diverse 6/10
SoboleuS March 19th, 2005, 06:54 PM Surprisingly good skyline, really tall buildings, but needs more density. 6,5/10
hauntedheadnc March 20th, 2005, 12:19 AM Fort Wayne has a real treasure in the Lincoln Building, and it appears to have a nice downtown overall, what with that historic courthouse and a scattering of other noteworthy historic buildings. However, I've heard that downtown Fort Wayne is unhealthy, which is a shame. For the buildings alone though, 7.
MattSal June 2nd, 2005, 06:03 PM Nothing too out of the ordinary. I give it a 6/10.
Indyman June 11th, 2005, 10:22 PM Alright here is a biased opinion. 10/10. I would always want to drive through and see the "skyscrapers". I thought they were huge. lol But it is my hometown so I love it.

i am impressed with the hieght of the buildings for a city of that size. but several buildings don't look too pretty, and i think a few smaller buildings to bridge the tall skyscrapers with the surrounding area would be nice as well.
Jules December 28th, 2005, 01:00 AM It's tallest is a beauty, makes me think Tribune Tower Chicago. 4.

rob_1412 February 4th, 2008, 03:27 AM Downtown is clean and fairly attractive, albeit mostly a 9-to-5 downtown with too much surface parking and few amenities to attract people outside business hours.
A few decent eating places have opened up, though, and the Harrison Square (http://www.cityoffortwayne.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1047&Itemid=634) development, incorporating a ballpark, hotel and mixed-use condo & retail space, should help with density and street life.
Visit my web site (http://www.robertpence.com/), if you like. There are quite a few photos of Fort Wayne there, and I have a lot more to post as I find time.
