Columbus does have some nice height for its metro size... 4 buildings over 500 ft (the most in Ohio)
But I get an overall sense of sterility while looking at the buildings... and it doesn't seem that dense for a northern city...
Columbus reminds me a lot of Indy
LeVeque is simply amazing...
BG918 June 12th, 2003, 08:12 AM I would also expect Columbus to be much more dense considering its location and history in the upper Midwest. What's there are some nice tall towers, each with a fairly unique design. But then that's all. Reminds me a lot of Oklahoma City's skyline, but not quite as good. Needs some work. 6.5/10
Wu-Gambino June 12th, 2003, 05:19 PM 8/10
Sniper June 13th, 2003, 12:29 AM 7.5/10 The skyline is small, although it's dense and has height on it. I like it!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Detroit June 14th, 2003, 12:26 AM I was very surprised with the skyline of Columbus the first time I saw. Much bigger, and larger than I imagined. 8.5
Fabio July 31st, 2003, 10:40 PM 7/10
Just like any other NA medium city skyline, small but with nice towers
Kaneda August 1st, 2003, 12:04 AM A nice suprise. Dident know Colombus had such a good skyline ! 7.5/10
gothicform August 1st, 2003, 08:11 PM its "ok" but nothing of much interest there really. i quite like the oldest of the four look towers but apart from that the whole thing screams "bland conservative america". note to columbus planners - must try harder.
6/10.
renell August 1st, 2003, 09:10 PM it's a pretty nice skyline 6.5/10
cincyimages August 8th, 2003, 05:55 PM LeVeque awesome, the rest is crap! Columbus' skyline is disappointing!
Columbus might be the fastest growing city and metro in the state but there skyline needs help.
cincyimages August 8th, 2003, 05:55 PM Whoever put 10, needs their head examined.
Cardpooch November 15th, 2003, 05:47 PM LeVeque is a knockout. The rest of it isn't.
6.5/10
SeeMacau November 17th, 2003, 04:31 AM Small skyline, but I think the skyline is dense
Need some more buildings
7.5/10
CaptainJackSparrow November 17th, 2003, 06:10 AM I like the shiney building, 7.
Mr. Big November 17th, 2003, 11:32 PM Columbus lacks major land formations such as rivers, lakes, hills etc. Because of this the buildings must stand on their own. Unfortunately, many of the newer towers are boring. So much so that I think they actually detract from the beauty of the Leveque Tower.
6.5/10
Aquarius November 19th, 2003, 08:44 PM notable skyline, needs algun more modern building, to be a North
American and capital city of Ohio 7,5 /10
james2390 January 25th, 2004, 04:21 AM Leveque Tower is very underrated!
Imperfect Ending January 25th, 2004, 07:46 AM 7
small skyline

arielbender May 4th, 2004, 08:20 AM Great skyline, lousy college football team...8.5/10
Anvers30 May 4th, 2004, 06:50 PM It's good skyline for city size. I like that 7.5/10 :)
JCDJ May 31st, 2004, 05:14 AM I would've like larger and more pictures.

The LeVeque Tower looks nice. A beautyful example of Art Deco.
SoboleuS June 20th, 2004, 03:47 PM Skyline is quite small but is tall and dense 7.5/10

hauntedheadnc February 11th, 2005, 11:44 PM Average, but very pleasant. Every big city should be so lucky as to have a signature historic skyscraper. 7.
i_am_hydrogen March 16th, 2005, 11:00 AM 5/10 - very small, but it has some attractive buildings.
Jaybird March 16th, 2005, 04:47 PM Columbus has quite the amazing skyline for its size, amazing heightage, I would definitely put it up against Cleveland and Cincinnati for the best skyline in Ohio. I was going to visit there last year to see an NHL game, but that is going to be delayed.
9/10
cwilson758 March 16th, 2005, 04:52 PM You know, I don't know what it is about Columbus' skyline I don't like??? Granted, I think that my city's leaves a bit to be desired too, but I am just not impressed with Columbus. There needs to be a modern "signature" tower.
MattSal March 18th, 2005, 12:34 AM Great medium-sized skyline that is too often overlooked. I give it a 7/10. :okay:
40748246 June 11th, 2005, 09:55 PM What is in Ohio, should stay in Ohio. That`s what I think.

columbusguy20 November 18th, 2005, 12:40 AM very nice. the best is proably the leveque. has anyone seen the supreme court building? it is the white marble building, with the green top, in front of the huntington building and vern riffe tower. the inside is amazing. i think it beats almost any other interior in ohio. columbus has a very nice skyline. miranova is amazing and it is the tallest residential building in the state and i think, i think, within a few states range(i.e. indiana, kentucky?, west virginia, eastern pennsylvania). i think it beats indianapolis' skyline anyday(im not saying anything against indy and i dont hate indy)
ESSEXgeezer November 18th, 2005, 01:55 AM a very nicely balanced small city skyline, nice and compact but with decent hight. Have an 8
-Jeff- December 2nd, 2005, 11:57 PM I have lived in Columbus for many years and I have always admired its skyline. It seems to be very orginized and it has some pretty unique and interesting buildings like the LeVeque Tower and the Huntington Center.
-Jeff- December 3rd, 2005, 12:02 AM The Huntington Center is unique and beautiful and the Vern Riffe center isn't bad.... the Franklin County Court House is another beautiful skyscraper in Columbus!! At least there are no ugly buildings like in Indianspolis, Cleveland, or Cincinnati.

Now_In_New York June 20th, 2006, 08:10 AM I have to work on inserting some images but for now--
Visit: http://www.urbanohio.com/--Click on Central Ohio, than Columbus, than skyline and you can at least get an idea of the full skyline along with more perspective on the buildings and their location.
Also: Some of the pics found on the above site along with a few more with added picture information--unfortunately they are all extremely condensed, nevertheless over 50 images, some more detailed images of specific buildings

Columbus is no New York but it's not bad for a city its size. It has 10 buildings over 400 feet. Granted some aren't as original or as tall as some comparable cities but all in all pretty good. Nevertheless, look at the pictures on either link to see for yourself.

OhioTodd November 24th, 2006, 11:09 PM Which is bigger? Columbus of Cleveland? 8/10 BTW, looks like a nice place to live.
Just going by city corporation limits, Columbus is larger(about 730,000) while Cleveland is at around 500,000. If you consider the urban areas however, Cleveland is much larger with about 2.25 million versus about 1.6 million for Columbus.

Paddington September 12th, 2007, 07:43 AM The size and density is decent, but the architecture is lacking. I live in Columbus, and I think this city has some of the ugliest high rises I've ever seen. :ohno:
The only ones I like are the La Veque Tower, the Nationwide Building (mainly for its colorful night lighting), and the Miranova tower. The others range from "Nothing to write home about" like the Key, Motorist, and Rhodes buildings to just god damn ugly like the Huntington Center. I must say, the Huntington Center is one of the worst skyscrapers I've ever seen. Its recesses are inverted, and it's proportions look bloated.
