Tanger was in the fifties the St Tropez/Marbella of now. You had a lot of jetset, filmstars etc who lived in Tanger. Tanger was then the place to be. St-Tropez was at that time not more then a boring fishing village...
If Tanger wasn't neglected after the independence it had now become bigger then Dubai/Marbella etc

P.S: In any case, the decree in tangier states that you cannot build anything right next to beach so as not to spoil the view.

The prices of the land still grows every year. That is why people sell their land to building companies...
And that is why it is difficult to create green areas in a city. Every piece of land is worth a lot...

Look at the other african cities, they just build with no concern for the environment or quality of life and end up with cities that look like crap...

10 towers of 20-25 floors, it's really nothing. If you look from your window you only look... nothing because they have just 10 towers in a very big town, whit a lot of population who live only in 5-6 floors buildings, see less...
Look at the south africa (cap town) towers :

And look at the indonesian towers too :

We need towers like these !
This is that we have to make in Morocco's towns : Casa or Tanger City ! You don't agree whit me ?
You can not compare South Africa or Indonesia with Morocco, they are more richer then Morocco and have the money to build huge towers.
To much towers is not so nice. If Tanger should have a lot of towers is will lose its charme.

We compare towers, not the economy of these countries !
You can't say "more richer...have more money than " is not a real reason, a lot of coutries are not more richer than Morocco and haven't money but they have more towers huge or not !
In these photos they haven't "a lot of towers" but just 1 or 2 bigs towers and it's all that we demand !
We don't demand "too much towers" or "a lot of towers" but more towers than actually and none have any towers it's not "so nice" too ! It's not the fact of having no towers who is going to lose the charm of Tanger !

When it comes to commodities, It is a rich country but most of the Wealth is concentrated within the hands of a few people (just like a lot of african countries!) in the case of the South Africa, the whites are rich, the blacks live in utter poverty though
Speaking of which, anyone been to South Africa? If it were not so dangerous I sure would like to go, I heard it's a beautiful country!

You really are quite arrogant and naive as to South Africa's present state of being, perhaps it would be wise to temper such malicious comments and curb your blinding patriotism. Being proud of your country does not give you the right to demote others, please, lets be proud of the new found interest in Africa as our continent.
A point of interest, South Africa produces nearly half of it Petrol consumption. It does so through Sasol, a company that synthesis's fuel from coal.

I thought you’d have realized by now that my statement was meant more cynical than seriously ;) Because a(n) (increasing) number of McDonald’s restaurants isn’t a real criterion to measure an economy of course.
Besides that, increasing still doesn’t mean that a new one must have opened today or yesterday.
Anyway, as far as I know:
- The last new McDonald’s opened in November 2006 in Tangier.
- Morocco had the first implementation of a McDonald’s restaurant on the African continent back in 1992, in Casablanca.
- The McDonald's restaurant which was implanted in Fez in 2004 was the 19th restaurant. At that moment 8 different cities had a McDonald's restaurant.
- In its strategy Mcdonald's-Morocco plans to other openings in Khouribga, Beni Mellal, or Safi.
- Today, Morocco is among the only three countries on the African continent that have McDonald’s. The other two countries are South Africa and Egypt.

Six residential towers (600 apartments), two office towers, a five star hotel and a shopping centre set around an artificial lake in one of the best locations in Tangier's new business district. Ideally situated for the train station and the beach we anticipate that this will prove to be one of the best projects in Tangier for some time.
The price per square metre of this project suggests that it has been released at below market prices by up to 40% compared to some of the surrounding projects. Average price of nearby developments: 2100 p.sqm Average price of Perle: 1,239 p.sqm
These two and three bedroom apartments would make ideal rental investments in this dynamic city. The large Spanish developer has ensured the use of high quality materials throughout the project and the stylish and futuristic design of the towers will make La Perle a new landmark in Tangier.

To make you all get agree with each other, let's hope for Tanger at least tow or three towers between 30 and 40 floors, it will give a better look to the city because what I d'ont like, is the fact that most of the towers build and the futurs ones are between 16 and 20 floors : the result is banal and ordinary (It will be the same if all the towers where 50 or more floors).
But when a little area is composed of 10 towers (for example) like this configuration : 1 of 40 floors, 2 of 30 floors and the rest between 15 and 20 floors, the whole area will have more contours, depth and relief.

All the real, national or foreign operators, have the glance turned towards Tangier and its area.
23.000 authorizations to build which were delivered in 2007, that is to say three times more than in 2006, according to figures' published recently by the Association of the property developers of Tangier. The year which arrives should also be ostentation for the sector and this, in spite of the loss of the organization of the International exhibition of 2012. In light, Tangier continues to allure the real investors. In fact, the demand is keen and the projects abound in all the segments of the sector. Thus, the year 2006 saw the launching of the urban pole of Ibn Battouta, composed of 9.000 economic residences carried out by the Addoha group. In 2007, the building sites gained in standing. By way of example, one can quote the residential complex of Marina d' Or. With the program, 600 top-of-the-range residences, plates for offices and a hotel of 5 stars. With proximity is the project of Tangier City Center, launched by the Spanish operator Fadesa. The investment is 900 million DH. It envisages the realization of two hotel units of 1.000 beds, on a surface built of more than 40.000 m2 and a great shopping centre. With the menu also, plates for offices on more than 81.000 m2 and of the tourist residences. Other groups, like Urbas and Grupo Salamanca, dispute their share of the cake. An increasingly expensive cake because of the lack of grounds. The promoters make pressure on the urban agency and the local authorities to release from new spaces to build. For the hour, this pressure is not without effect on the prices of the grounds. Indeed, the prices of land naked vary between 8.000 DH and 30.000 DH according to the surface and of the site. And in 2007, the scarcity helping, the tariffs climbed from 20 to 30%. This rise, related to the cost of the principal inputs, cement and iron, is reflected naturally on the wallet of the final customer. Thus, the price range is thus 8.000 to 12.000 DH for average standing. In the case of top-of-the-range, the prices are more difficult to analyze considering than they are marketed via different circuits and directly on the European markets leconomiste.com Ali ABJIOU

Hello thank you for this information. But I would like to have more details and information about this project. Perhaps you know more about this project in Ksar Sghir.
I know there are many rumours under the local people about what is to going to happen with Ksar Sghir, but no one nows what is really the plan for the future.

Why do you think that? Do you know my name?
Or is it because you're from casa and you refer to Casaoui? But my nickname is Casraoui. :)
