Hmmmmmm.....below freezing is below zero....I think the lowest temperature ever recorded in the Philippines is just 6 (six) degrees celsius (Baguio City)....wala pa pong temperature sa Philippines na umabot ng zero. AFAIK, its just that on some mountainous and heavily covered mossy-rainforest peaks of the country, a transient drop of temperature of until 5 degrees were claimed but no records have been set. Examples are Kitanglad - Kalatungan -Dulang Dulang area, Balatucan Range, Apo, Kanlaon, Isarog, Halcon, Pulag.^^

This is why we should have atleast one observatory in our tall mountains to track weather patterns and temperatures. On an average, temperature tends to drop 2 degree celsius every one thousand feet. Baguio is "only" at 4,900ft and we have more than a handful of mountains almost twice that altitude so no doubt record low temperatures go unnoticed probably everyday

I was in mt. apo and we recorded 4 degrees celsius and that's El Nino time, but definitely there is no below 0 degrees celsius in PI. but i agree Bukidnon could be colder because it is landlock .

be careful what you ask or you might get it.

although not snow, but frozen hailstones did occur in some parts of the Philippines such as Baguio, Zamboanga, South cotabato, Batangas.

a hailstone also occured in Las Pinas during the inauguration of the current president, some say it's a sign of bad omen.

There have been many stories of frost and hail all over our country and it baffles me we have yet to see any picture of such when it happens almost every year.

Walang pera ang pagasa for a weather observatory sa mga matataas na mountains...so they prioritize more yung typhoon, flood and rain aspects of weather....buong Negros island nag iisang PAGASA station lang (Dumaguete)

The topography and location and add to that, the forest cover of the mountains call for its "coldness". deep and wide valleys or plateaus of high elevations and regular prevailing winds make our cold places

Hail is quite common in some parts of the Philippines,,,I think Quezon City and Baguio City are the largest urban centers with the most frequent hailstorms ever

Yep, frost...marami yan sa mga bundok natin...ewan ko ba ba't walang may naka pag post nig pics dito

Would love to see that impossible snow fall happen in our beloved Pinas at least even just once in my lifetime! If Somalia, a country hotter than us, can record snow (they did in 2005, Google it), why can't we? There is always a first time for everything!

In some isolated parts of Bataan and Olongapo it gets really cold at nights during late Nov. to Dec. It usually goes with clear, starry nights which makes sense - no cloud cover. I'd like to try that 4 degree temp in Mt. Apo, though.

i dont agree that mt pulag be converted into a city. kailangang mapreserve rito yung mga natural resources kasi sayang naman

if only Baguio city is 2kms high. 1.2 kms high lang kasi ang Baguio.

I don't think snow has fallen over any peak of the Philippine Islands. What we only have is hail and frost.

Puncak Jaya (Carstensz) is (was?) the only the ice-capped peak in Southeast Asia when Meren Glacier was still there until 2000
