View Full Version : New kinds of threads...

So, I have been thinking up some different ideas for tweaks to the forums...

And have decided upon two kinds of threads that I want to try out, if people are receptive to contributing to them here. Otherwise, we'll try them out somewhere else on SSC.

One... a thread which would categorize weblinks to other sites relevant to the Tampa region... govt sites, media sites, informational sites, sites of local restaurants and so on...

Another thread would be a place where folks could leave a post with their professional credentials if they wanted to... folks could say what they do, for who, how to be contacted... basically whatever such relevant information they wanted to post, but no sales pitches for anything. (sorry to the students and younger folks, but not all threads are for everyone I guess)

So folks know, the ultimate endgame of this would be to create a portal for Tampa, like the portals which already exist for other cities on SSC. But even before that would occur some months from now, these will obviously be interesting just as threads, and may even be of some practical use.

so yay or nay?

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Although i wont really be contributing to these 2 threads, I think they are a great idea for everyone, and they can be real helpful and informative for quick access. They should be stickys IMO

I think it’s a great idea. It will be useful and convenient for forumers to access information through the links.
