As for Sandown Isle, something is being built there - not sure if it's the 16 floor building you have as cancelled, but it could well be.
Also, Hydro Park on Grayston is under construction, not completed.
And you also need to add details for The Regent. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=10411416#post10411416
And there is another development which slipped past us called 10 Degrees. It is completed, and looks about 10-12 floors, but will need to double-check it.

Boys I have searched high and low for a render of the AXIS which I have has never built, Its the last building in Sandton to get a pic next to it. a box of smarties to the first to find one
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 11th, 2008, 09:24 PM I have been sending updates to Emporis to make changes to the names of several buildings in South African cities:
I just got them to change the name of the ArabellaSheraton to the Westin Grand in Cape Town. See the link at:
The Westin Grand Cape Town Arabella Quays Hotel (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=arabellasheratongrandhotelcapetown-capetown-southafrica)
The other building I had them to rename are Southern Sun properties around South Africa that were still called Holiday Inn on Emporis such as the one in Cape Town which is now called Southern Sun Waterfront.
In addition, I just had them add Mossel Bay to the list (see Tallest Skyscrapers - Mossel Bay (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/ci/bu/sk/li/?id=162666&bt=2&ht=2&sro=1) ) so that they could add a new entry I gave them for the Diaz Strand Hotel (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=diazstrandhotel-mosselbay-southafrica), which is a 13-storey four-star hotel that opened in Mossel Bay in 2004.
That is not all. I just submitted them info on the new Radisson SAS that is being built in Port Elizabeth, so this entry will probably appear on their listings in an day or two.
I also just submitted a change to rename the BP House and Shell House in Cape Town to their new names.
kjetilab March 11th, 2008, 11:26 PM Shell House, BP Centre and Safmarine House updated (should be avaliable to the public soon)
I'm happy to update anything new about Cape Town, but be sure to include any avaliable sources.
Not to familiar with CT yet, so feel free to be quite specific about street adress and such...
Caisson Boy March 12th, 2008, 02:49 PM Well, I also did some updates. But I'm also slightly pussymoer to see that the editorial control over the content is not nearly as strict as it used to be, when there were only a couple of us doing all the work. Some complete fucknut has gone and added lots of low-rise buildings in Stellenbosch, and uploaded completely wrong pictures there. Bloody useless.
SA BOY March 12th, 2008, 04:52 PM not me I was removed from being SA Editor cos I cause too much trouble
Caisson Boy March 12th, 2008, 05:34 PM Well in that case fuck'em.
Mo Rush March 12th, 2008, 09:53 PM if you use the websites "reputation" and name you could get many architecture firms to send you high res renders of projects!!
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 13th, 2008, 12:17 AM For the Diaz Strand Hotel, I just sent them five links to pictures from the CyberCapeTown.com website and we'll see what they will do with the pics.
Obviously if you do include pictures of your own or from another source, you should name the source in order for the picturetaker to get the credit for the pic.
Regarding Cape Town, I can confirm that the formerly BP Centre, Shell House and Safmarine House have been renamed their new names like was done to the Westin Grand (formerly ArabellaSheraton) last week.
I did send them some info on two towers in the Eastern Cape: Dukumbana (12-floors) in Bhisho and Sigcau Botha (12-floors) in Mthatha (formerly Umtata). We'll see what they will do along with the request for a new listing for the Radisson in Port Elizabeth.
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 13th, 2008, 12:42 AM Well, I also did some updates. I understand what you are saying as I just looked at 18 low rise structures in Stellenbosch such as Helshoogt which they have listed at 11-floors even though they got two pictures on a Merriman Street that is certainly not in South Africa but more likely in the US. Also I noticed a tower listed in a small rural town in Zimbabwe that I don't know the name of but when I looked closer the tower was actually in Chicago.
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 13th, 2008, 12:46 AM Well, I also did some updates. By the way it doesn't make sense that they have just one building listed in Paarl, which is twice the size of Stellenbosch while George does not have any. What changes in Stellenbosch need to be noted to Emporis other than the Helshoogte, whatever it means in english.
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 13th, 2008, 12:48 AM not me I was removed from being SA Editor cos I cause too much trouble
What kind of trouble did your cause? Just want to know so I'll know what to expect from them as I have been sending some updates to them.
SA BOY March 13th, 2008, 08:12 AM I had a run in with the guys in the US who thing the world revolves around them. I spend 4 years tking hundreds of photos and getting loads of info for all SA cities as well as Dubai. I was givin info by Emporis on towers heights which I then used and was then told I would loose editors rights as I dident verify the info , but in reality it was from them.
Neverthe less I gave up trying to be rational with them as they were so negative about Dubai and always were trying to trip us up on the city and its buildings. Its like if its niot a 12floor shit box in mid west USA , they are not intrested
Pule March 13th, 2008, 12:05 PM Was Gwen Lane Towers cancelled, I don't like its deisng but some how it was gonna add to Sandton's skyline.
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 13th, 2008, 05:50 PM Was Gwen Lane Towers cancelled, I don't like its deisng but some how it was gonna add to Sandton's skyline.
Yes it was the first Sandton tower to be cancelled about five years ago and is listed on Emporis as Never Built.
Mosi-oa-Tunya March 13th, 2008, 05:55 PM Regarding the Diaz Strand Hotel in Mossel Bay, I was told by their staff that they could not accept pics other than pics taken by Emporis editors and photographers.
Regarding the Dukambana and Botha Sigcau in the Eastern Cape I was told to submit the sources from a newspaper which I just did so I hope they will post these buildings.
Caisson Boy March 14th, 2008, 01:38 PM I am an Emporis editor. And I took Pics of all the new high rises at Diaz in Mossel Bay about 3 weeks ago....

Did you submit the pics to Emporis so we can get some color on the Mossel Bay listing and for Diaz Strand Hotel listing too?
Could you also create a new gallery thread for Mossel Bay in SSC and put the pics there? Would most certainly like to see them.
Since you are an editor can you get the 2 pics removed for the 11-storey building at the University of Stellenbosch which are not in Stellenbosch (understatement as the residents there would die over cold if they thought that something like that found on a Merriman St).
I did succeed in getting Emporis to set up new listings for the Dukambana Building in Bhisho and Botha Sigcau Building in Mthatha, both of which are in the Eastern Cape, and should show up on Emporis next week if they follow the same process after they approved my request for the Diaz Strand Hotel, which was the first new listing I was able to get them to add along with the Mossel Bay city listing about a week ago.
