Milky, how hard is it to get into the H3 building? Would I be able to walk in?

I also tried to take night photos from the Prudential, and failed. I think an SLR is the only way to go...

I just pretend as a inhabitant in this apartment and the security guard let me in , very easily :D

Very cool photo, thanks for finding it, titanic. I don't think we've had any photos from the Sun Wah tower before! The only remaining major "unconquered" building is therefore the Metropolitan. I'll see what I can do, if we ever get a sunny day again... :)

so they resume the work on Times Square. The area around LeLoi-NguyenHue-DonhKhoi still has many old ugly apartments(built pre-75 and has downgraded a lot,some became slums),i hope they will be demolished for new buildings, or at least renovated in the near future.

I had a feeling about the timesquares stopped because they wanted to change the design of the building...

I am all for French architecture, but the way they incorporate French architecture with that twin 40storeys glass towers is not at all my taste

Sailing Tower is grow very slow , don't know that the hell they're working on its basement , it takes more than 6 months but they haven't finished yet , Horizon is the same but it has more proceed :) , Gemandept is working on basement , pretty fast , International Plaza , I just posted a photos of it a week ago , plz take a look at previous page :)

If you want to take photos of Horizon , You must pay money ( I guess so T_T ) , đi chụp hình dự án xây trái phép khó lém àh , em xin đầu hàng ko chụp được Horizon :( mà mấy người dân sống gần đó xin vô nhà đứng chụp hình có chút xíu mà cũng ko cho , chắc phải xì tiền ra wé +_+ )

to the right of that building I think there will be a big building rising in the near future...........because 1 of jaro's pics shows a huge land clearance on that site facing the other street.....the area behind the red highrise tubehouse (hotel)....I say atleast 10-15 tubehouses.......

That corner building (it used to have a big Annam luxury foods store) had a certain period charm... now it will be lipsticked into boring post-history.

The green u/c to the right of Mme Aodai is, I think, another 12 story office building, opposite that Jungle disco or something.

seems like in vietnam they love to put up a billboards for over a year or longer then start with construction.......it's like an entrance or something....has to make it big, grand, but slow.....so i will look interesting

Có nhà khi xây đã “phòng xa” làm cho nền nhà mình cao 0,4 m so với mặt đường. Thế nhưng, không bao lâu sau đó, nhà của họ đã trở nên thấp hơn mặt đường do đường liên tục được nâng để tránh ngập nước.

Ấn tượng nhất là khi vào cư xá Cửu Long, Bình Thạnh, hàng loạt cây cầu mini dài khoảng 1 m, cao gần 1 m vươn ra ngập hai bên đường. Xen giữa các cây cầu là bậc tam cấp, thềm thì ít nhưng độ cao thì chóng mặt. Cứ phải dắt xe máy vượt qua những cây cầu này, bất kỳ ai cũng toát mồ hôi, chỉ có cư dân ở cư xá này là cảm thấy bình thường vì ai cũng giống ai. Chủ căn nhà không số sát với cây cầu cũ của cảng Ba Son, giới thiệu: “Để có được nền nhà cao thế này, người ít nhất cũng đã phải nâng nền đến ba lần”. Nhà bà hiện có độ cao khoảng 80 cm so với mặt đường. Lý giải chuyện nâng nền cao ngất ngưởng như hiện nay là do mặt đường đã nâng lên hai lần rồi, lần nào cũng phải chạy theo quá mệt, nên lần thứ ba, người dân nâng luôn ở cao độ này, hy vọng nếu như có làm đuờng lần nữa thì không phải bám đuôi theo đường.

Đường Đặng Văn Ngữ, Phú Nhuận là tuyến đường có độ dốc tự nhiên về hướng cuối để thoát nước ra hướng kênh Nhiêu Lộc, Thị Nghè. Song có lẽ khi thực hiện tuyến đường kênh, để tránh tình trạng đường mới làm đã ngập, nên độ cao tuyến đường được nâng lên cao hơn mặt đường gần cả mét, trở thành con đê chắn ngang đường thoát. Hiện nay, chỉ cần một cơn mưa vừa, cũng đủ biến đoạn cuối đường trở thành một cái ao khổng lồ. Do yếu tố này mà toàn bộ đường hẻm, nhà dân tại khu vực cuối nguồn này buộc phải nâng cao ngất ngưởng hơn mặt đường kênh, vì nếu tuyến đường được cải tạo độ cao mới thì ít cũng lên cả mét.

Chẳng phải những khu dân cư trong hóc hẻm phải chịu cảnh nâng nhà chạy theo đường, ngay các tuyến đường chính như Nam Kỳ Khởi Nghĩa, Cách Mạng Tháng 8… vẫn có thể chứng kiến nhiều nền nhà nâng cao hơn đường vài chục cm.

Nâng đường, nhà biến thành ao

Hầu hết người dân chỉ biết một khi nâng đường, hẻm thì mặt độ cao được nâng tiếp. Khu vực hẻm 97, Trường Chinh thuộc phường 12, Tân Bình là một điển hình. Theo người dân sống lâu năm tại đây, khu vực hình thành từ những năm đầu thập niên 60. Mãi đến năm 1990 mới bắt đầu ngập nhẹ, tiếp sau đó là cứ năm sau ngập cao hơn năm trước. Ngập nhiều quá, chính quyền địa phương bắt đầu tính chuyện nâng đường. Lúc đầu chỉ làm hai con đường thấp nhất, độ cao được nâng chỉ khoảng 30 cm. Nâng thì hết ngập, nhưng những con hẻm xung quanh lại ngập nặng, vậy là nâng tiếp. Toàn bộ những con hẻm sau được nâng cao hơn hai hẻm đầu khoảng 20 cm. Tình cảnh lại quay về ban đầu, và cách giải quyết là sửa lại cao độ nền hai con hẻm đầu cho tương xứng độ cao những hẻm còn lại. Chuyện cũng chẳng có gì đáng nói nếu những căn nhà lầu mà không lên tiếng phản đối vì sợ nhà thấp hơn đường thì không biết độ cao hẻm sẽ lên đến bao nhiêu và hiện tượng nâng hẻm đến bao giờ mới chấm dứt…

Căn nhà 6F thuộc cư xá Cửu Long, phường 22 Bình Thạnh, được người dân trong khu vực này bình bầu vào “top 10” những căn nhà có độ sâu cao nhất trong khu vực. Để có thể lên mặt đường, cư dân trong nhà phải vượt qua được cây cầu tạm có độ cao khoảng 70 cm. Có lẽ vì không đủ kinh tế để cải tạo và không thể có sức dắt xe gắn máy ra khỏi nhà, chủ nhà đã cho một nhóm nam sinh viên “lực lưỡng” thuê lại nguyên căn, vì chỉ có sức trẻ mới có thể ra khỏi căn nhà này. Cách đó ba con hẻm, nhà chú Phan Huân, số 72D, cũng nằm trong tình cảnh tương tự. Căn nhà kiên cố một lầu giờ đành chịu cảnh nền thấp hơn đường 30 cm. Theo lời chú Huân, trước đây nhà chú có nền cao hơn đường 40 cm. Hiện trạng này có được sau ba lần nâng hẻm, lần nâng cao nhất là 50 cm. Tại căn nhà số 41D, do mặt đường cao hơn nền nhà 20 cm, để tránh tình trạng nước tràn vào nhà, chủ nhân đã cho xây một bức vách cao 30 cm ngay giữa nhà, biết là bất tiện nhưng vẫn còn hơn là chịu cảnh ngập lụt trong nhà ngay sau cơn mưa.

Thảm nhất khi phải chịu cảnh đường cao hơn nhà, có lẽ là cư dân thuộc chung cư Thanh Đa. Những căn hộ tầng trệt đối diện với chợ, nhờ công trình chống ngập nhiều tỉ đồng của chính quyền địa phương nên toàn bộ những căn hộ tại đây nằm lọt thỏm ở độ sâu 50cm so với mặt đường. Do chung cư đã cố định, nên chẳng ai dám nghĩ đến chuyện nâng nền, vì “không lẽ chui vào căn nhà có chiều cao 1,5 m?” chị Thuỷ, một cư dân ở đây chán nản.

Even though it's short, I like this building...kinda short and elegant like Vietnamese women....I guess it's appropriate for Phu Nu magazine building. Its the New World Hotel Tower, long time ago they announced it, but until today only few has been done, it will not be finished before 2010. Many projects in HCMC are stuck like this, I do not know why, sometimes land clearance problems, missing infrastructure (example Thu Thiem new urban is waiting for their Bridge + tunnel), corruption, not allowed heights which leads to time consuming new designs/renders, etc. They could learn from Hanoi, there it seems to going on more smoothly.

What are you talking about Fredi? Hanoi is having serious problem with land clearing. Read the below article from dothi.net for yourself. Of the 35 projects intended for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long, only 2 have finished with the land clearing.

Giải phóng mặt bằng ở HN quá chậm

Trong số 35 dự án trọng điểm phục vụ 1.000 năm Thăng Long - Hà Nội, mới có 2 dự án hoàn thành giải phóng mặt bằng (GPMB). 10 dự án khác đang bàn giao từng phần với diện tích chỉ 63,3 ha trên tổng số 321 ha phải thu hồi.

Theo ông Nguyễn Đức Biền, Trưởng ban chỉ đạo GPMB TP Hà Nội, việc mới có 2/35 dự án trọng điểm hoàn thành GPMB là chưa đạt yêu cầu, chậm so với tiến độ kế hoạch triển khai các dự án trọng điểm cũng như dự án phục vụ 1.000 năm Thăng Long – Hà Nội.

Nguyên nhân đầu tiên là một số dự án khi xây dựng tiến độ kế hoạch không sát thực tế mà theo ý muốn chủ quan, chưa rà soát các điều kiện cần để triển khai như nguồn vốn, tái định cư... Tuy đã có kế hoạch nhưng trong chỉ đạo vẫn còn dàn trải và chưa thật sự đồng bộ. Đã vậy, cơ chế phối hợp giữa các ban ngành để tham mưu thành phố những vấn đề cụ thể còn chưa thật sự chặt chẽ.

Trong triển khai GPMB, việc đầu tiên là phải có quyết định thu hồi đất nhưng nhiều dự án chưa hoàn tất thủ tục này. Chủ đầu tư cũng như thành phố phải dự kiến được nguồn kinh phí bồi thường, hỗ trợ để chi trả cho dân, nhưng không ít dự án triển khai rồi mà chưa có nguồn kinh phí.

Thậm chí, cùng một tòa nhà có phòng hoàn thiện, có phòng chưa, trong khi quy định nêu rõ nơi tái định cư phải bằng hoặc tốt hơn nơi ở cũ.

Chính vì thế, quận, huyện không thể chủ động trong việc bố trí nhà cho người đã nhận tiền đền bù. Về thủ tục hành chính, đôi khi có những vấn đề các sở, ngành họp thống nhất rồi nhưng lại thiếu chữ ký của người có trách nhiệm cũng khiến cho công việc chậm trễ... Hiện, dự án đường Vành đai I Ô Đống Mác - Đê Nguyễn Khoái, quỹ nhà tái định cư đã được bố trí nhưng lại chưa hoàn thiện để có thể đưa các hộ dân đến ở. Dự án đường 5 kéo dài trên địa bàn quận Long Biên và huyện Đông Anh đến nay cũng chưa xong khu tái định cư. Dự án đường Lạc Long Quân, quỹ nhà tái định cư cũng chưa có điện, nước...

Để giải quyết vấn đề này, ông Biền cho biết: "Trước hết, chúng tôi sẽ xem xét cụ thể từng dự án, xem vướng mắc ở khâu nào. Nếu là cơ chế chính sách thì tham mưu cho thành phố tháo gỡ. Nếu thuộc về tái định cư, về nguồn vốn... chúng tôi sẽ phối hợp với các sở, ngành tìm xem vướng mắc nằm ở sở, ngành nào, giải pháp tháo gỡ là gì để báo cáo thành phố. Tiếp theo là phải rà soát quỹ nhà tái định cư đối với từng dự án, tham mưu thành phố tháo gỡ tại chỗ. Lãnh đạo thành phố cùng với các sở, ngành và đại diện các hộ dân sẽ kiểm tra tại chỗ, xác định công việc phải giải quyết, ấn định thời hạn phải hoàn thành.

Ngoài ra, tiến độ GPMB thuận lợi hay không phụ thuộc vào cả hệ thống chính trị. Cũng cần nhấn mạnh rằng, bên cạnh bảo đảm dân chủ, công bằng, công khai, đúng quy định pháp luật, chúng ta cũng sẽ xử lý nghiêm những trường hợp cố tình chây ỳ, chống đối.

What are you talking about Fredi? Hanoi is having serious problem with land clearing. Read the below article from dothi.net for yourself. Of the 35 projects intended for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long, only 2 have finished with the land clearing.

Giải phóng mặt bằng ở HN quá chậm

Trong số 35 dự án trọng điểm phục vụ 1.000 năm Thăng Long - Hà Nội, mới có 2 dự án hoàn thành giải phóng mặt bằng (GPMB). 10 dự án khác đang bàn giao từng phần với diện tích chỉ 63,3 ha trên tổng số 321 ha phải thu hồi.

Theo ông Nguyễn Đức Biền, Trưởng ban chỉ đạo GPMB TP Hà Nội, việc mới có 2/35 dự án trọng điểm hoàn thành GPMB là chưa đạt yêu cầu, chậm so với tiến độ kế hoạch triển khai các dự án trọng điểm cũng như dự án phục vụ 1.000 năm Thăng Long – Hà Nội.

Nguyên nhân đầu tiên là một số dự án khi xây dựng tiến độ kế hoạch không sát thực tế mà theo ý muốn chủ quan, chưa rà soát các điều kiện cần để triển khai như nguồn vốn, tái định cư... Tuy đã có kế hoạch nhưng trong chỉ đạo vẫn còn dàn trải và chưa thật sự đồng bộ. Đã vậy, cơ chế phối hợp giữa các ban ngành để tham mưu thành phố những vấn đề cụ thể còn chưa thật sự chặt chẽ.

Trong triển khai GPMB, việc đầu tiên là phải có quyết định thu hồi đất nhưng nhiều dự án chưa hoàn tất thủ tục này. Chủ đầu tư cũng như thành phố phải dự kiến được nguồn kinh phí bồi thường, hỗ trợ để chi trả cho dân, nhưng không ít dự án triển khai rồi mà chưa có nguồn kinh phí.

the same damn Nguyen Huu Canh bridge , they use so much money to fix that new bridge 3-4 times, when they can use that to build something new. there are many many more issue I really don;t have time to address them all, but VN will not grow anytime soon if they keep relize on foreign investments.

You can clearly see this building is twice as tall as the New World Hotel. New World Hotel is 10 floor high so this building must be 20 or more floors.

it's not how we could figure out how tall the tower is. They just make the tower outstanding by drawing it taller and bigger than the surrounding buildings.
