Nightsky February 25th, 2007, 08:33 PM Nice city/photos!
I have heard that Cork is more modern and Dublin.
premier February 26th, 2007, 12:37 AM mmm.. I wouldn't say so. When I think about it I could count around 10 'Modern' buildings in Cork. I can bet that in Dublin there is way more since there is so much constrution going on there.

Irish Blood English Heart March 13th, 2007, 02:31 AM I was in Cork in November, its got quite a large Polish population now which Im very happy to see  how do you find it?
premier March 13th, 2007, 08:57 PM I think that Cork is great. The city is changing relly fast. In few years time Cork is goin to be evan nicer since so much renovation is being done. :)
edit: I forgot to mantion, I love St. Patrick's street. :)
toRRone March 22nd, 2007, 02:59 PM Piotrkowska might be jealous for St. Patrick's, don't you think? two declarations of love one so close to another?;) and what is it like to leave a big city for a ***hole? i'm about to do so but the one i'm heading for seems even deeper.
premier March 22nd, 2007, 10:23 PM Piotrkowska might be jealous for St. Patrick's, don't you think?
No I don't think so ;p :) Although, I do like St Patrick's Street, I wouldn't say that it's more beautiful than Piotrkowksa :)(Ofcourse it's only my opinion) I relly do love that place (Piotrkowska). I cant stop smiling when I'm there becouse of the climate and the beauty of the street :)
and what is it like to leave a big city for a ***hole?
Calling it a "****hole" would be a bit extreme ;) It's not to bad, but it could be better :) For eg. I do miss some attractions like big shopping centres (;)) or parks/sport parks.
i'm about to do so but the one i'm heading for seems even deeper.

now you can see where i'm gone to and i'm currently working on an escape plan;) now, as i checked it in person i feel sure that no money is worth going ...you know where. however i'm glad to have experienced it myself. there's still much to see and learn around... now i'm thinking of slovenia as another destination. as far as i know not many poles have arrived there since 2004 what, considering the language that is related to ours, outstanding climate conditions (in comparison to british or norwegian) and easy access (low fare airlines to Venezia/Treviso) i find surprising. and you? still carrying on?

Bulldozer November 30th, 2007, 03:42 AM Some good photos, I visited recently and Took photos of a lot of the same buildings. The extension to the council offices (95) next to the fire station changes colour at night but i did not have my camera at that time. The yellow Dunes store is now just a facade and the block to the left of it most has gone as a massive new Mixed use retail / residential is under construction through to the Arts building behind ( next to the opera house.
Is there a General Republic of Ireland Thread ?
premier December 4th, 2007, 04:40 PM Wow, the Dunnes Stores is just a facade now? wow, good that they didn't demolish the whole thing, I liked that building a lot.
I haven't been in Cork for about 3 months now, but I'm coming back to visit pretty soon so I'll have the chance to see it live.
Anyway, you breaning back the thread reminded me that I still have some photos to post :)

I was totally surprised by that Dunnes Stores demolition, while visited Cork during Easter this year. It's nice that they left the facade though. They did that with many other bulidings in Cork, as far as I remember.
Everytime I visit this lovely city, I really do appreciate how nice it is and how many good examples Lodz could take from them to become a place to be called "city" - and to become the 2016 European Capital of Culture, as Cork held that title in 2005. Lets just look at St. Patricks Str. and Grand Parade or Oliver Plunket Str., lets look at the Old English Market, lets look at the Cork International Airport...
Dreams, dreams, dreams...
