Here are pictures of Achaemenid clothing.

I wonder about the men's clothes. The noblemen seem to wear robes; the soldiers, robes with leggings, or tunics with leggings. Do you think the soldiers' robes are wrap-around things that separate when they ride or run? You would think that the active man would be inhibited by long skirts.

The first noble looks like his "drapery" might be wrapped around each leg separately. Isn't it sweet the way he's holding hands and looking at his companion?

I love the picture for the expressions on their faces (and the blank look of the guard in the background) and for the space between them that shows the art and architecture of the palace.

Nice modest traditional clothing over all regions of Iran.

So here's a picture of a woman in traditional dress riding a horse. It looks to me that her skirt is so full that she can straddle the horse in it and still be modest. Is that how it appears to others or is she wearing some kind of robe over pantaloons?

During the Persian Empire the style for women lacked the veil(sp?).
The dress actually reminds me of Indian fashions(maybe they borrowed influences from Persia?).

They do not!

The Fez is not Turkish!...It's called a "fez" because it comes from Fez in Morocco. The Turks adopted it when they did their sweeping reforms through-out the Empire (and got rid of the "old fashioned" turbans). Different versions of it exist in different countries in the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa.

It was called a "fassy" in the beginning but then the Arabs called it a "tarboush" which is a derivation of the Persian word sarpoush, oddly enough.

There needs to be more Iranian fashion designers who can make new and contemporary clothes but with some traditional elements to it, like what they do in India. The former Queen has the money, and so she can afford to have traditional Iranian clothing that also looks modern and trendy:

Because let's face it, although a lot of the clothes in this thread are very beautiful, they are not going to be popular among modern Iranians (this includes my pics of Mahchehreh Khalili), and that's why it's rare to see people dressing in Iranian clothing these days. Iranians need to try and get the Iranian clothing and allow it to evolve into the modern world, not to just completely ignore it and let it die out! Fashion changes all the time, and Iranian clothes has changed a lot over the past 3000 years, but throughout all this time they still got the Iranian look and style! We need to also try this now and not allow the West to dominate us culturally!

نیمابهنود، یکی از طراحان ایرانی موفق در نیویورک استکه به خاطر طرح ها و نوشته هایایرانی از جایگاه خوبی برخوردار است.
نیما متولد ۲۷ مرداد ۱۳۵۵ در تهران است و طراحی لباس را از سال های پیش ، تقریبا 16-17 سال قبل ، وقتی که شلوارهای جین را پاره می کرد و روی آنها نقاشی می کردتا الان که لباس هایی با مهر های قدیمی و خطوط نستعلیق ایرانی و بسیار زیبا و به یاد ماندنی تولید می کند ، دنبال کرده است و در حال حاضر به صورت خودجوش گروه 17 نفری نیمانی که یکی از گروه های موفق زیرزمینی فشن نیویورکاست را اداره می کند.نیما بهنود در سانفرانسیسکو رشتهگرافیکرا ادامه داده است و در سال 2000 وارد مدرسه عالی مد نیویورک و بعد از چهار سال فارغ التحصیل شده است.

نیما بهنور اکنون یکی از مشهورترین طراحان لباس ایرانی است که ارتباط وی با جریان صنعت مد و پوشاک داخلی نیز برقرار است، تا آنجا که دو تن از معروفترین بازیگران سینمای امروز ایران(بهرام رادان و میترا حجار)، برای لباس*های وی تبلیغ کرده*اند.





مصاحبه اختصاصی سایت دوخت با نیما بهنود که هم اکنون ساکن نیویورک است را می خوانید:

دوخت : کار طراحی تی شرت را از کی شروع کردید؟


نیما بهنود: در واقع یکی از واحد های درسی من در مدرسه فشن، چاپ روی پارچه بود . من از همان موقع کار دوخت و دوز تی شرت و چاپ بر روی آن را شروع کردم و تا حالا که 4 سال است این کار را به صورت بیزنس ادامه داده ام.





دوخت : پروسه طراحی و تهیه یک تی شرت برای شما به چه صورت است؟


نیما بهنود: نوع نگاهی که ما به طراحی و تولید یک تی شرت داریم بسیار متفاوت از تولیدات انبوه و کارخانه ای تی شرت است. ما ابتدا یک سری تحقیقات در مارکت تی شرت می کنیم و انواع دوخت و دوز ها را بررسی می کنیم. همچنین درباره مد جاری و علاقه مشتریان تحقیقاتی به عمل می آوریم، بعد از انتخاب مدل و طراحی تی شرت نوبت به انتخاب پارچه می رسد. ما از بهترین و اعلاترین کتانها برای دوخت تی شرت استفاده می کنیم. ضمنا ما با چاپ دستیطرح های روی تی شرتها را چاپ می کنیم.





دوخت :درباره طرح های روی لباس های نیمانی توضیح دهید. خیلی غیر منتظره*است که مثلا شعری عرفانی با خط نستعلیق را آدم روی لباس یک مانکن ببیند. چطور این کار را می کنید؟





نیما بهنود: ما از مهرها و شعرهای قدیم استفاده می کنیم. هیچ کدام از این عناصر معاصر نیستند از مهرها گرفته تا نوشته ها. همه از کتاب های خیلی خیلی قدیمی در آورده می شود. این بخش کار یکی از مهمترین و سخت ترین قسمتهاست. برای این کار معمولا از جمعه بازارهایی در ترکیه ، مراکش و ...کتابهای قدیمی خریداریو قسمتهایی از کتابها انتخاب و پس از اسکن به وسیله کامپپیوتر اصلاح و طراحی می شود.





دوخت : قیمت تی شرت های نیمانی در چه حدود است؟


نیما بهنود : قیمت تی شرتها یک رنج مختلف دارد از 60، 70 دلار شروع می شود تا 120 دلار است که قیمت تی شرت های عالی است. اما الان دامن و ژاکت هم تولید می کنیم که قیمت آنهااز تی شرتها خیلی بیشتر است. تی شرت در بازار پوشاک و مد بسیار محبوب است مخصوصا تی شرتهایی که دست دوزند و چاپ دستی هم دارند. اگر همین تی شرتها تولید انبوه داشته یاشد و کارخانه ای تولید شود خیلی قیمتشان پایین می آید.





دوخت: در حال حاضر به غیر از تی شرت چه محصولات دیگری تولید می کنید؟


نیما بهنود: ما لباس های زنانهغیررسمی(یعنی لباس هایی که جزء لباس های شب نیستند) ، کت ، ژاکت های کلاه دار و کمربند تولید می کنیم که در فصل آینده همه ارائه می شوند.





دوخت: چه جاهایی شوی لباس داشتید و کجا بیشتر استقبال شدید؟


نیما بهنود: ما تا به حال در لندن، فرانسه ، تورنتو ، ونکوور و تمام امریکا شو داشتیم و بیشترین استقبال در لندن شده است. البته ما به طور مداوم در نیویورک شوی فشن داریم و خیلی زیاد هم استقبال می کنند.





دوخت: شما جایزه ای هم از مسابقه گرانیف توکیو کسب کردید. از آن بگویید.


نیما بهنود: در توکیو مردم ثروت خوبی دارند و به لباس های خاص هم اهمیت ویژه ای می دهند . تی شرت در بازار توکیو خیلی مهم است و کسانی که کار تی شرت می کنند با گرانیف توکیو آشنایی کامل دارند.
این یک مسابقه ای است که هر 3 سال تکرار می شود و از بین پانزده هزار طرح سه گروهاز طرح ها به عنوان طلا و نقره و برنز انتخاب می شود که ما در این مسابقه جایزه برنز را گرفتیم.





دوخت : مشتریان شما چه کسانی هستند؟


نیما بهنود : بیشترین مشتریان ما در نیویورک هستند . جوان های که خیلی به فشن علاقمند هستند یا در مدرسه های فشن درس می خوانند و یا استفاده از طرح های ایرانی برایشان خیلی جالب است. اینها در واقع مشتریان شماره یک ما هستند.


در شهر های دیگر تقریبا نسبتمشتریان ایرانی به غیر ایرانی نصف است. از آدم های معروف، خواهران هیلتون (پاریس و نیکی)، هایدی کلوم (مدل سرشناس) و شوهرش جیم کری و گروه موسیقیفوجیز مشتریان پرو پا قرص من هستند





دوخت: محصولاتتان در کجا بیشتر به فروش می رسد؟


نیما بهنود : با 4- 5 فروشگاه کار می کنیم که لباس های ما رو میفروشند که دوتا در لوس آنجلسه ، یکی تو نیویورک، یکی تو ایالت ویرجینیا است و یکی هم در ژاپن که بعد از گرفتن جایزه گرانیف توکیو باز شده است.





دوخت : غیرایرانی ها در مورد عناصری که بر روی لباس ها ست سوال می کنند ؟ چه جذابیتی برایشان وجود دارد؟


نیما بهنود : بله خیلی می پرسند و اصلا نمی دانند که این نوشته ها فارسی هستند و فکر می کنند که شکل های جالبی هستند که روی تی شرت چاپ شده اند و ما برای آنها توضیح می دهیم که این نوشته ها و مهرهای فارسی خیلی قدیمی هستند و این براشان خیلی خیلی جذاب و جالب است. شاید به این خاطر که این فرم ها تا به حال استفاده نشده است و اولین بار است که دیده می شوند.
حدود 6 سال پیش نوشته های چینیژاپنی خیلی مد بود و خیلی هم استفاده می شد، بعد دوره کوتاهی این اتفاق برای نوشته های هندی افتاد و این طرح ها چون از هند بود و کسی در خارج از هند این کار را انجام نمی داد خیلی زود از مد افتاد . الان نوشته های عربی و فارسی تازگی دارند.

دوخت : نظرتان درباره هفته فشن نیویورک که گذشت چیست ؟ آیا در این هفته شو داشتید؟
شهر نیویورک از نظر مد و فشن در آمیرکا از شهرهای دیگر جلوتر است. این فصلی که گذشت خیلی از طراحان جوانی که نتوانسته بودند در فصل های قبلی شرکت کنند طرح هاشون را در هفته فشن نیویورک نمایش دادند.خیلی جالب است طراحانی بودند که برای بار اول شو داشتند اما استقبال زیادی از کارشون شد. ما هم شوی خوبی داشتیم و خیلی زیاد هم استقبال شدیم، می توانم بگویم یکی از بهترین شوهای ما بود.

دوخت : درباره همکاری آقای بهرام رادان و خانم میترا حجار برامون توضیح بدهید آیا این کار تاثیر خاصی گذاشت؟
نیما بهنود: من از این کار برای تاثیر مالی استفاده نکردم فقط قصدم این بود که نشان بدهم این قشر جوان ایرانی که مستقل رشد کردند ودر زمینه های مختلف پیشرفت خوبی داشته اند با هم ارتباط دارند و اگر کسی به موفقیت رسید با دوستان جوان ایرانیش سهیم است و از هم حمایت خواهند کرد. من همیشه خیلی تعجب می کنم در شهری مثل نیویورک این همه غیر ایرانی از طرح های ایرانی استقبال می کنند.
دوخت: فکر می کنید اگر طراحان ایرانی بتوانند طرح هاشون رو در شوهای بین المللی نمایش بدهند استقبال خواهند شد؟

طراحان ایرانی که من می شناسم و هم اکنون اینجا مشغول کار هستند و سبک مخصوص خودشون رو دارند مثل خانم صراف پور که الان یکی از طراحان تاثیرگذار در نیویورک است ، بسیار موفق هستند و طراحانی که از ایران باشند و اصول کلاسیک مد و فشن را صد درصد بشناسند و تحصیلات آکادمیک داشته باشند می توانند موفقیت خوبی در این زمینه کسب کنند. اینجا بالاخص در نیویورک رقابت خیلی خیلی زیاد است و کسی بیشترین موفقیت را کسب می کند که ابتدا سواد کاملی از فشن داشته باشد.

دوخت : درباره شوی آیندتون که در 20 و 21 اکتبر در ونکوور است توضیح بدهید.

نیما بهنود: ونکوور یکی از شهرهایی است که تازه وارد میدان فشن شده است و مردم علاقه ویژه ای به تی شرت های جدید و خاص دارند و خیلی از مجله هایی که درباره مد می نویسند از ما دعوت کردند و درباره ما مطالب زیادی نوشته اند.در این مجموعه که داریم به کانادا می بریم اولین بار است که لباس های زنانه را هم نمایش می دهیم همچنین یک سری از لباس هایی که برای فصل آینده طراحی کرده ایم نیز در این مجموعه وجود دارد.



دوخت : ما تمامی خبرهای مد و فشن جهان همچنین هفته های فشن مهم رو در سایت منتشر می کنیم اما خیلی ها درباره بعضی لباس ها سوال می کنند و براشون عجیبه که مثلا یک طراح بر سر یکی از مدل هاش مکعب میگذارد یا لباس های عجیب و غریبی مثل شوی گالیانو براشون جای سوال دارد؟

نیما بهنود:بله از هفته فشن میلان هم خیلی ها ایراد گرفتند که خیلی شوها تئاتری بوده است.

در حال حاضرخیلی از مدل هایی که در فشن شوهای مهم نمایش داده می شود لباس هایی نیستند که مردم عادی در خیابان و مهمانی ها بپوشند و قصد اون طراح هم این است که مردم به ذهنیت او پی ببرند. این شو یک دریچه است که مردم به دنیای طراح وارد شوند. طراح هم پس از شوی لباسش و شناخت هنرش به مردم ، طرح های آماده پوشیدن خود را در مغازه عرضه می کند .

دوخت :در ایران هم فروش دارید یا نمایندگی که مردم از آنجا محصولات شما رو تهیه کنند؟

راستش خیلی از ایران تقاضا داشتیم ولی ما دوست نداریم که این تی شرت ها کارخانه ای تولید شوند. ما بیشتر دوست داریم یک گروه طراح جوان و فعال و علاقمند این کار رو در ایران انجام بدهند.
ما فعلا هیچ نماینده ای در ایران نداریم و هیچ یک از محصولات ما در ایران به فروش نمی رسد. در همین رابطه هم ایمیل از ایران زیاد داریم که گویا تی شرتهایی با کپی برداری از طرح های نیمانی تولید و به فروش می رسد اما ما کاملا بی خبریم و هیچ نماینده و یا فروشی در ایران نداریم.

نیما بهنود (زاده ۲۷ مرداد ۱۳۵۵ در تهران) طراح مد ایرانی است. او طراحی لباس را با مهرهای قدیمی و خطوط نستعلیق ایرانی تولید می*کند و در حال حاضر گروه ۱۷ نفری نیمانی را که یکی از گروه*های مد نیویورک است، اداره می*کند. وی در سانفرانسیسکو رشته گرافیک را ادامه داده است و در سال ۲۰۰۰ وارد مدرسه عالی مد نیویورک و بعد از چهار سال فارغ*التحصیل شده است. نیما بهنود اولین طراح مدی است که خطوط نستعلیق خاورمیانه ای را بر روی لباس طراحی و رایج کرد(بیوگرافی در ویکی پدیا)
در میان ایرانیان خارج از کشور، نیمانی و تی شرت هایش، به عنوان یکی از زیبا ترین نمونه های کار آفرینی با استفاده از عناصر فرهنگی ایران شناخته شده است. نیما بهنود ساکن نیویورک است و در 2 سال گذشته با استفاده از خوشنویسی که هنری قدیمی اما ناشناخته در خارج از کشور است اقدام به تولید تی شرت های دست دوزی نموده که در مدتی کم در بازار پر رقابت مد توانسته جای پای محکمی برای خود باز کند. الگو های نیما ساده و بی آلایش هستند که اغلب به صورت استفاده از خطوط و نقوش قدیمی به صورت تک رنگ روی تی شرت های مردانه و زنانه است.
او نه خوش نویس است و نه طرح های مورد استفاده او به طور کلی بدیع است، اما هنر او (تلفیق خوشنویسی و تی شرت) اقدامی بسیار نو آورانه است که با تمجید کارشناسان و منتقدان و خریداران مواجه شده است. برند مهمان عزيز لينکها فقط براي اعضاي سايت قابل مشاهده ميباشد. اگر از اعضاي سايت هستيد وارد سايت شويد, در غير اين صورت ثبت نام نماييد امروزه و در مدت بسیار کوتاه به برندی شناخته شده در تولید تی شرت های دست دوز تبدیل شده است. محصولات "نیما نی" در کشورهای مختلف جهان در شوهای کوچک و بزرگ عرضه می شوند. از هنر پیشه های ایرانی تا کنون بهرام رادان و میترا حجار در تبلیغ این محصولات با وی همکاری کرده اند.

بهنود در مورد طرح تی شرت ها چنین می گوید:
ما از مهرها و شعرهای قدیمی استفاده می کنیم. هیچ کدام از این عناصر معاصر نیستند از مهرها گرفته تا نوشته ها. همه از کتاب های خیلی خیلی قدیمی در آورده می شود. این بخش کار یکی از مهم ترین و سخت ترین قسمت هاست. برای این کار معمولا از جمعه بازارهایی در ترکیه، مراکش و...کتاب های قدیمی خریداری کرده و قسمت هایی از کتاب ها را انتخاب می کنیم و پس از اسکن به وسیله کامپپیوتر طرح ها را اصلاح می کنیم.

Because let's face it, although a lot of the clothes in this thread are very beautiful, they are not going to be popular among modern Iranians (this includes my pics of Mahchehreh Khalili), and that's why it's rare to see people dressing in Iranian clothing these days. Iranians need to try and get the Iranian clothing and allow it to evolve into the modern world, not to just completely ignore it and let it die out! Fashion changes all the time, and Iranian clothes has changed a lot over the past 3000 years, but throughout all this time they still got the Iranian look and style! We need to also try this now and not allow the West to dominate us culturally!

you guys get the point, theres diff types, and also , many of the ones above are almost 100% traditional persian , theres hardly any effort

but they can be furtherly developed

tirgan festival, a yearly summer festival for iran's culture is held in downtown toronto (at harbour front centre) , its a 4-5 day all day exhibition (open bazar , music shops, workshops, iranian food etc) and at the evening to the night theres plays, music performances and concerts , theatre ,dance, poetry etc and sometimes a club event at midnight, most performances are free, its like an open air thing

even thousands. even some English words that have entered the language have been Frenchized because the French way is easier for us to pronounce them. recently the organization of the regulation and refining of the Persian language has suggested new words for those French and English words but if you want to look carefully you'll see that most of the devices that are around us are called in a Persianized French way. the only difference is we say 'r' as a real r instead of a qh.
