Er Rachidia is more of a base, or a stop over, than a destination in itself. Located in the Ziz valley, and north of the Tafilalt valley, and the central town of Erfoud, there are a couple great one-day excursions that can be made while you stay the nights in Er Rachidia.

Except for the majestic qasr, Er Rachidia has little to offer tourists coming for sites. But the city is well known for its pleasant atmosphere, and high level of activity in the streets at evenings, when all seem to join the crowd (women are returning home some hours before the men).

The city's best offer for tourists is therefore the people, and getting in contact with locals is easy and almost always highly rewarding. As a foreigner, you will soon find yourself surrounded by genuinely curious and friendly people, but language can be more of a barrier here than in more central parts of Morocco.

Le sanctuaire de Feu Général Mohamed Oufkir à Ksar, Boudnib située dans le Tafilalet à 90 km d’Erfoud et au Sud-est à environ 100 km d’Errachidia, son père avait été nommé Bacha par Lyautey en 1910, Mohamed Oufkir devint capitaine de l’armée Française et la France l’impose comme aide de camp du roi Mohammed V au lendemain de l’indépendance, il a exécuté une répression lors du soulèvement du rif en 1958, puis à Casablanca en Mars 1965 et a participé à l’assassinat de Mehdi Ben Barka. Le 16 août 1972 il échoue le putsch militaire contre Hassan II, Dimanche 15 Avril 2007.

Oui oui je te comprend... Errachidia est en état de STOP, tout comme Meknès d'ailleurs...

Mais quand même, Errachidia possède un Aéroport, qui reçoit maximum 1 - 2 avions par semaine...

Pendant l'été, elle presque vide... Et personne ne pense à Errachidia, vu qu'il n'y a rien à y gagner...

la Spirale d’Or, l’Escalier Céleste et la Cité d’Or:
La première œuvre est la Spirale d’Or. De l’extérieur nous voyons un très beau mur, un « tas de cailloux » très bien rangés en forme de spirale. Nous suivons la spirale, et au centre, Hassan nous en dévoile le secret. Il a une clef, ouvre une trappe qui donne sur un escalier lui aussi en spirale, qui mène d’abord à l’appartement à la fois magnifique et austère de l’artiste, et qui mène ensuite à un puits dont l’eau est d’une pureté absolue. L’ensemble de la construction a été réalisé suivant le nombre d’or et je laisse le soin aux lecteurs intéressés de faire les recherches concernant et ce nombre d’or et l’artiste.



La seconde œuvre que nous visitons est l’escalier céleste, sorte de Pyramide avec un escalier qui mène en son sommet et qui renferme également un lieu de vie.



La troisième est la Cité d’Orion, qui représente au sol, l’alignement de la constellation d’Orion

voici un article de aujourd'hui le Maroc les évoquant
L'ambassade d'Allemagne organise, en automne 2003, une exposition de l'un des artistes les plus célèbres dans le monde. Hannsjörg Voth a construit trois œuvres monumentales dans le sud-est du Maroc. Elles sont admirées dans le monde entier, sauf ici.
Au milieu du désert marocain, une ville surgit soudain. Le voyageur pense à un mirage ! Il a beau se rapprocher de la cité, elle ne s'évapore pas. Bien au contraire, elle lui révèle des détails. Ses tours ne vacillent pas. Ses murs ne tremblent pas.
Les creux opérés dans les murs pour l'évacuation de l'eau deviennent nets à mesure que le voyageur se rapproche. Il se frotte les yeux pour faire disparaître l'apparition, mais ne réussit pas. Il s'avance d'un pas décidé, et se retrouve tout près des tours qui le dominent de plusieurs mètres.
Il en appelle au toucher pour se persuader qu'il ne rêve pas ! Ses mains lui communiquent une sensation rugueuse. Il se résout enfin à accepter qu'il est en présence de constructions qui ne sont pas le fruit de son imagination ou d'une insolation.
Il entre dans la ville où il constate que les bâtiments sont conservés dans un état impeccable. Le voyageur se met à courir dans tous les sens, à crier sans que personne ne lui réponde. Il n'y a pas âme qui vive ! Il est sûr alors d'être le premier témoin de la réapparition d'une cité mythique, enfouie dans le désert pendant des siècles. Il court annoncer la bonne nouvelle à Erfoud où il est stupéfait de constater que personne ne s'enthousiasme pour sa découverte. «C'est la ville de l'Allemand Voth», lui répond un maçon.
Cet ouvrier sait de quoi il parle, parce qu'il a pris part à la construction de la « Cité d'Orion ». Son concepteur, Hannsjörg Voth, est l'un des artistes contemporains les plus célèbres dans le monde, et particulièrement dans la forme d'art dite “land art”. Cette expression désigne des interventions, souvent gigantesques, d'artistes contemporains dans des paysages naturels. Les œuvres participant du “land art” ne peuvent ni se commercialiser, ni se transporter vers d'autres endroits. Il existe deux façons seulement d'en prendre connaissance: la diffusion par la photographie ou la visite du lieu pour lequel elles ont été conçues.
Au demeurant, la « Cité d'Orion », réalisée en 2003, n'est pas l'unique œuvre que Voth a réalisée dans le sud-est marocain. Il en existe deux autres. « L'escalier céleste » date de 1987. Haut de 16 mètres, il constitue l'un des ouvrages les plus représentatifs de l'artiste allemand. Cette œuvre exprime l'inclination de l'Allemand pour la chose ancienne. La vision de cet escalier renvoie immédiatement le spectateur à l'Histoire. Pas n'importe quelle histoire, mais celle où les hommes n'étaient pas clairement distingués des dieux, où ils pouvaient toucher dieu, où ils s'érigeaient en dieux. L'escalier céleste est une espèce de pendant de la tour de Babel. On n'y parle pas toutes les langues, mais il permet une ascension. Cette œuvre ne peut s'appréhender indépendamment du soleil. Les escaliers dessinent des scies lorsqu'ils sont éclairés à certains moments de la journée. D'ailleurs, il arrive que des bergers se reposent à l'ombre de l'escalier céleste. La troisième œuvre de Voth s'intitule « la spirale en or ». Il s'agit d'un mur sous forme de spirale qui mesure 60 x 97 mètres. Il s'appréhende en une seule fois seulement par une vue aérienne.
« La spirale en or » ressemble à quelques vestiges des civilisations anciennes friandes des géométries strictes. Elle rappelle les tracées laissées sur des vestiges précolombiens.
« Il est impossible de regarder les œuvres de Hannsjörg Voth sans penser qu'une autre civilisation est passée par là », nous précise l'écrivain et critique d'art espagnol Emmanuel Borja qui vit à Rabat. Il ajoute que la facination de l'architecture sur Voth tient au métier de son père. « Je pense que Hannsjörg Voth est à la fois nourri par la nostalgie de son père qui était architecte, et celle des origines de l'art qui sont consubstantielles à l'acte de bâtir », dit-il. Pour construire ses œuvres près d'Erfoud, Voth fait appel à la main d'œuvre de la région et aux techniques de construction locale. Pas de grue, ni de bulldozers, mais des hommes qui répètent un geste millénaire, consistant à mettre une pierre au-dessus de l'autre pour élever un bâtiment. « La cité d'Orion », « L'escalier céleste » et « la spirale en or » ont été financés, selon Emmanuel Borja, grâce à la vente des esquisses et dessins de l'artiste. Ils sont bien connus des habitants d'Erfoud, mais inconnus de la plupart des Marocains. L'artiste ne tiendrait pas d'ailleurs à ce qu'ils soient repérés par des touristes. Mais est-ce une raison suffisante pour qu'un artiste célébré dans le monde entier, et dont les œuvres construites au Maroc ornent des catalogues lourds de plusieurs kilos, ne suscite pas d'intérêt chez nous ?

Oui il a raison, errachidia c'est nettement plus grand il me semble, pas loin des 100 000 habitants, tandis que Figuig ne depasse pas les 15 000 habitants ^^
