It was main source of fishing there and quite famous, may be fish population decreased. But I really doubt there's no trouts fishing at all, I guess it's just limited.

it's an absurd situation. It's illegal to fish it for most of the time but it's not illegal to buy it or sell it in restaurants. So obviously the prohibition doesn't help much. Not that the situation with the trout population is critical but it's not at a level at which it should be.

MojaBL, I've eaten regular trouts caught here. It's from the same or similar kind or subgroup (I dunno the exact Bio term) -brown or something. And I know that Ohrid ones are pretty famous. But I really doubt I've eaten one -pls don't draw me as poacher :D

Well if you're wondering whether they'd turn a Greek guy down coz he's Greek; most wouldn't do that, most wouldn't take it into account what nationality a guy is (maybe religion). I know a (Macedonian) girl in my city who is engaged to a Greek guy and both their families are cool with it:) the guy seems nice too, i've seen him at our church a few times and parties someone from our community might have. But the girl he got engaged to is really really beautiful:)

Soooo much tequila, nice smilling girls and european-outlook historical city of Ohrid together:lol: Simply great vacation. (one tip - in some pub between castle and amphitheatre was small tequila just for about 30 cents:cheers: )

It's a freshwater lake, as are most of the lakes in the world. It is also the oldest lake in Europe.

it has been a tourist hotspot for the last 30-40 years. The structure of the tourists has changed over the years due to the well know reasons but the numbers more or less remained the same.

But I promise myself i will visit whole Macedonia next year at March or April at least for 1 week... that's because I dont have much time for this year.

Is it problem for you if I post the remaining pics in 1024x800?I post them 1024x800 because in Bulgarian forum it's the most frequently used size.

To see photos size 1024x800 you have to have screen at least 19" and photos are being slower uploaded and downloaded at that size.

I like the bulgarian paintings in the church , but they need renovation.

Nice little town, reminds me of a smaller version of Kastoria in Greece. The churches are very nice.
