Bosnians participation in building school in Bam, sign of friendship Bam, Kerman prov, Jan 15, IRNA Iran-School-Bosnian Deputy head of Bosnian `Marhemat' Charity Foundation, Haroun Imamovich, said on Monday that establishment of a school in the quake-hit city of Bam on behalf of the Bosnian people by this foundation shows friendship between the people of Bosnia and Iran. The remark was made while Imamovich inspected the school. He noted that the school has been built in response to the assistance given to the Bosnian people by the Iranian government during Balkan war. "Despite being financially humble, the school will be a sign of friendship between the two nations to make them help each other during crises," he added. Meanwhile, Bam governor, Majid Etemadi, said that construction of this school strengthens the relations between the people of two countries, adding that Muslims are bound to assist each other just as Iranians sympathize with Iraqi, Palestinian and Afghan people. For his part, the head of Bam Education Department, Moussa Hafezabadi said, "About 85 percent progress has been made in the 10-class school project, which is being constructed on an area of 3,000 square meters. The classes of this school are ready and being currently used by pupils. "Out of the 10 billion rials spent on the project, 6.8 billion rials was financed by Bosnians and the remaining was provided by the Iranian government," he added. http://www.irna.ir/en/news/view/menu-236/0701153957173346.htm shugs April 1st, 2007, 05:35 PM Found this http://www.parstimes.com/scitech/bam/ It has a ton of information linking to articles and information about the earthquake and the reconstruction shugs April 1st, 2007, 05:39 PM Some floor plans on the elementary school that was/is being built: From Canadians For Bam Reconstruction Committee Lookin at the site it looks like the majority of the members are Iranians http://www.canadiansforbam.com/ http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7128/47214069zi8.gif http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/644/40166618ii6.gif Gilgamesh April 30th, 2007, 01:02 PM Iran to end construction in quake-hit Bam mid-July ...
