I'm sorry, but some of these buildings look bad! The Third and Fifth photos from the top are plain hideous! Where did these people learn to become architects?

The last set of photos of the model building are nice - A contemporary Iranian design.

Updates on the construction, most if not all of the projects are finished and about four times as many are half way through development throughout Karaj.
Its a construction BOOOOOOM!...

Do you have a House in Karaj?

So any skyscrapers in Karaj?

Mahdi jaan, no i do not have a house in Karaj. I stay with family in Karaj, well...to be exact Gohardasht...thats where all my fathers family live in close proximity to one another.

Rahmani, there are developments, but i'm not sure exactly where...there isnt much publicity unfortunately so the updates I get are from family in Karaj itself...
Next time I go I will take more pictures of new projects and also current pictures of the construction which has been completed from the summer (2006) when I took the photos.

Some of the skeletons of these buildings look so frail. I'm no expert on construction, but I'm comparing it to what is the norm in the west. They look like they could come tumbling down with a 7+ earthquake.

مرکز توسعه تحقیقات فیزیکی، اخیرا رقابتی برای ساخت مجتمع مسکونی در مهرشهر کرج برگزار کرد.
این رقابت بین 30 شرکت مهندسین مشاور برای طراحی 6000 واحد مسکونی در سایتی با مساحت 750 هزار مترمربع برگزار شد، و در مجموع، طرح گروه طراحان ContemporARchitectURban برنده این رقابت* شد.

هدف اصلی برگزارکنندگان این رقابت، یافتن راه*های جدید جهت توسعه ساخت*وساز مسکن برای اقشار متوسط جامعه متناسب با فرهنگ و نیازهای سرزمین ایران بود،مسأله ای که در سال*های اخیر به دلیل انبوهی ساخت*وساز،به فراموشی سپرده شده است.

این مجتمع شامل سه بخش مسکونی است که توسط باغی که در طول قرار دارد به هم متصل می*شوند. در طراحی باغ، از باغ*های سنتی و قدیمی ایرانی الهام گرفته شده است.

آپارتمان*های این مجتمع برای پاسخ*گویی به سلیقه های متفاوت خانواده*های ایرانی در تیپ های متنوعی طراحی شده و در طبقه همکف هر ساختمان، مهدکودک، فروشگاه*ها و دیگر امکانات مورد نیاز قرار گرفته است. هر کدام از این بخش*های مسکونی دارای حیاط میانی و زمین*بازی مخصوص کودکان نیز می باشد.
