Jerusalem, the capital of Israel is one of the most unique and historic cities in the world,
This amazing city was developed and created by so many nations,religions and cultures.
Its skyline is basicly few skyscrapers,beautiful churches, and the old city with the beautiful golden dome!

Interesting and historical, but not much of a skyline.

Jerusalem/Tel Aviv = Washington D.C/New York City

Is the reason for Jerusalem's low-slung skyline more economic, or are there other reasons, like D.C's height restriction?

Jerusalem looks so beautiful as well as its important city in the world - Holy Land.......

extraordinary history but little skyline. the view from mount of olives is breathtaking but take away that big golden dome and we're left with another cairo, a sprawl of mud brick and 10floor concrete. despite this i give it a very generous 5.5/10 because it is unique, exciting and dramatic.

incidentally west jersualem is the capital of israel, the east has never been officially recognised by anyone except the israelis.

5 for the skyline. and to not get bashed i must say that the city is more than that:), possibly a 8, or 9

Thats true! only few countries have in fact recognized the whole Jerusalem as the capital!
Jerusalem isnt recognized as the capital at all! not even the west! most countries dont have an official Capital for Israel! Although all the Israeli government buildings are indeed in Jerusalem! and Jerusalem plays a role as the capital! (BTW even east Jerusalem is full with government landmarks)
this city is just fascinating...

I doub they will ever built! surely not buildings such as in Tel Aviv or Ramat Gan! it just doesnt suit...

BECAUSE its a city which is so important it will never have huge skrapers, by building a huge skyline it will ruin the crucial look of this amazing city....

the skyline gets a 5/10 because of the impressive Dome of the Rock on Haram al sharif. But Jerusalem as a city is an incredible place. It is one of the greatest and most important cities in the world, and it really does belong to the heritage of the entire human race. No other words to describe Jerusalem other than amazing, and breathtaking. It is one of a kind.

And I agree, there shouldn't be skyscrapers built here. Jerusalem is above that, it is too special to be ruined by skyscrapers. The most important thing is that it's historical value is preserved and all new buildings built should also reflect an architecture that blends in with the extremely cultured environment around it.

I so agree, and thats why there are severe restriction of building by the Israeli government, getting a building permission in Jerusalem is everytthing but easy ;)

It seems that the Palestinian (sp?) landmarks are the most beautiful, prominant, and important landmarks in Jerusalem.... ( am I right?) I mean without the churches, the golden dome of the rock, and the other mosque next to the wailing wall, Jersulam would be pretty bland...

I give this beautiful city an 8 !! :) especially b/c of the golden mosque... such a beautiful building, and beautiful city !!

I know it's a very important city with a lot of history but i don't think that it's skyline is very interesting to look at except for maybe the dome of ther rock and the parliment building.

i only like the Mosque.. its stole my attention.. :D:D

the greatest city in the world imo. i will visit some day. it is my dream to explore the land of milk and honey. as a canadian first nations person this will be a spiritual journey.
