Can't say I like the design, but it sure as hell is pretty unique.

BTW where did the height figure of 258m come from? So far I've only heard 228m and 240m for this building.

A Las Vegas Style building with an Asian Theme. Not exactly a beauty, but not butt ugly either. I praise it for its efforts.

eDit: i haven't been to Macao for about 10 years, it looks very different now.

Yes, different sources give different figures. Don't know which one is official. The figure 258m is from China Radio International Online. As for me, the building looks shorter than 258m.

I love the design. Macau is going to be the Las Vegas of Asia and I can't wait. I've read from BBC that its gambling winnings (or something like that) is higher than that of Las Vegas already.

Not sure if I like it at night...the grooves are a bit boring.. but the base (bulb) at the bottom is absolutely fab.
The gold colour disappears at night, and there a lots of flashing lights.

Macau is the gambling capital in the world (yeah, over Las Vegas)

In fact, Macau passed Las Vegas in gambling revenues last year, so it's arguably the premier gambling location in the world.

Correct. LV is more touristic and attractive for people (gamblers or not) from all around the world, while Macau attract mostly 'professional' gamblers from Asia.

Macau's city centre is actually a World Heritage Site, with lots of old buildings dating from the Portuguese colonial era. I think amidst all the press coverage on gambling, this huge part of the city gets overlooked.
