OZAMIZ CITY--ISIP kabahin sa gihingusgan nga kampanya batok sa pagsumpo sa illegal nga panagat sa Philippine National Police-Phillipine Maritime Command (PNP-MariCom) sa Ozamiz City, nasikop ang duha ka mga illegal nga mananagat.

Ang duha ka mga nadakpan mao sila si Allan Barera anaa sa legal nga pangidaron ug usa ka naila sa ngalan nga ‘Cristian’, usa ka 16 anyos nga minor de edad ug pulos nagpuyo sa Catadman, Ozamiz City.

Nadakpan ang maong mga suspetsado atol sa gipahigayon nga joint seaborne operation niadtong Nobiyembre 10 sa may alas nuwebe sa buntag.

Gipadayag ni police senior inspector Nolasco Cabasag Ratilla, PNP-MariCom chief nga nadakpan ang duha sa dihang nanagat kini gamit ang motorized push trawl kon ‘sud-sud’ sa kadagatan sa Cotta Area.

Gidala ang duha ka suspetsado sa buhatan sa PNP-MariCom alang sa dokumentasyon ug pagkhuman gibuhian samtang giduso ang kaso niini sa Ozamiz City Fisheries Division.(NEPTALIE BATOLENIO)

i heard that the city govt plans to have north and south bus terminals for Ozamiz.
they are already scouting land for possible locations of the 2 bus terminals.
The present ibjt is already being offered to a mall developer.
its only the bus terminal that is contributing to the city coffers at present while the public market at ibjt is
now abandoned and is deteriorating fast.
well, lets hope that these things will materialize soon for the good of Ozamiz :angel: :angel1:

there are Ozamiznons who are against the idea of selling the ibjt lot.
actually, another option given by the city govt is thru Build-Operate-Transfer scheme just like
what Unitop did in its present lot owned by the city govt.
the reason for offering the ibjt lot is that in case a mall developer comes to
ozamiz and could not find a prime commercial lot from the pvt sectors,
the ibjt is good option for the investors :) :cheers:

Mindanao local leaders upbeat on pushing for key programs, projects

DAVAO CITY, Nov. 22 (PNA) -- More local government participation in development planning will be seen at the regions, provinces, cities and municipalities of Mindanao as local leaders have vowed here recently to solidify their ranks and intensify efforts in pushing for high-impact programs and projects at the local level.

Davao del Norte Governor Rodolfo del Rosario, newly installed president of the Confederation of Provincial Governors, City Mayors and Municipal Mayors League Presidents in Mindanao, said CONFED is one of the vehicles for peace and progress and so with the election of new officers.

“We would like to become an active participant in local development planning,” Del Rosario said.

As a key advocacy group for Mindanao, Del Rosario said CONFED Mindanao will see to it that critical development programs and projects in Mindanao will be funded, particularly those that require private sector participation under the government’s public-private-partnership (PPP) program.

"The PPP for this particular year mainly qualifies Luzon and hopefully it will also include Visayas but we don't want to be left out of this. We have a list of projects which we think would qualify under the PPP," Del Rosario said.

South Cotabato Representative and former CONFED Mindanao president Daisy Avance Fuentes also called on Mindanao leaders to proactively participate in local development planning as the Aquino administration wants the identification of programs and projects at the local and regional level.

“We urge CONFED to move fast, make sure that projects identified are karapat dapat, those with economic impact,” she added.

Fuentes also pointed out that for an island-region where poverty remains a basic problem, Mindanao should already be getting a fair share of 30 percent from the national budget.

“The reason we’re not getting any is because we don’t have ready proposals on projects that will greatly accelerate the growth of Mindanao,” she said.

She then urged CONFED Mindanao to rally behind Mindanao bloc in Congress in pushing for Mindanao’s bigger budget starting next year.

“Rest assured that there’s a new spirit at the House of Representatives as we have been fighting for Mindanao’s bigger share,” she added.

In his keynote speech, DILG Undersecretary Austere Panadero also emphasized that DILG’s current thrust for Mindanao is pursuing peace and development by strengthening local institutions.

Panadero said DILG is scaling up various local government programs such as putting up a Performance Challenge Fund to help local income LGUs across the country.

The fund, he said which will be put up next year, can be accessed by LGUs based on merits of good planning, transparency as well as good fiscal and human resource management.

With these emerging opportunities for the LGUs, Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chair Luwalhati Antonino urged local councils to be stronger in their planning activities.

“Take out politics, look at the strength of every region, cluster common interest, formulate one tourism package and together promote Mindanao,” Antonino said.

In the next CONFED meeting, the local leaders are expected to discuss key issues on the proposed expansion of Mindanao air linkages and the Mindanao budget.

Del Rosario, was voted at large as the new CONFED Mindanao president, along with North Cotabato Governor Lala Talinio-Mendoza as executive vice president in a re-organizational meeting of CONFED Mindanao held 13 November at Emar’s Hotel, Restaurant and Beach Resort, Davao City.

Elected regional vice presidents also include Zamboanga Sibugay Gov. Rommel Jalosjos for Region 9, Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Cruz for Region 10, Compostela Valley Gov. Arturo Uy for Region 11, South Cotabato Gov. Arthur Pingoy for Region 12, Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong for Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and Surigao del Sur Gov. Johnny Pimentel for CARAGA region.

Meanwhile, elected members of the board are composed of Kidapawan City Mayor Rodolfo Gantuangco, Butuan City Mayor Ferdinand Amante Jr., Laak (Compostela Valley) Municipal Mayor Reynaldo Navarro, Isulan (Sultan Kudarat) Municipal Mayor Diosdado Pallasigue, Cotabato City Mayor Japal Guiani Jr., Panabo City (Davao del Norte) Mayor Jose Silvosa, Ozamis City Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez and Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano.

Established in 1990, CONFED Mindanao is an advocacy group of Mindanao local chief executives which promotes peace and development, nation-building and other pro-Mindanao advocacies.

The city should just allow them to connect two bldgs. with a pedestrian bridge, Peoples in Pagadian successfully did that. All they need is enough clearance for firetrucks. Gaisano's proximity to the busy port makes it a good sell for shoppers from nearby Lanao as well as a convenient stopover for shipping passengers. Before Jolibee existed, I probably have invested a good chunk of my money in their foodcourt!

that pedestrian bridge is actually still a retail floor that connects the two bldgs. They can do two levels of that if they like. The city should just allow them to connect two bldgs. with a pedestrian bridge, Peoples in Pagadian successfully did that. All they need is enough clearance for firetrucks. Gaisano's proximity to the busy port makes it a good sell for shoppers from nearby Lanao as well as a convenient stopover for shipping passengers. Before Jolibee existed, I probably have invested a good chunk of my money in their foodcourt!

its the Gaisano capital management who proposed to construct their new
bldg right beside the old main bldg of their mall and plan to transfer the
street a few meters from its orig location. i think they dont want to build
pedestrian bridge in their first proposal last year. i remember they were told
by former city Mayor aldong to consult city engineers office, city council and
conduct public hearing regarding their proposal to transfer the street. i think
the city govt will not oppose with the idea of constructing pedestrian bridge
to connect their 2 malls.
i dont know the reason why Gaisano Capital dont want to build pedestrian bridge in their first proposal.

PLDT has not fixed the damaged telephone line along DABA until now after their wire got caught by
a container van yesterday.
there are still no dial tone in most telephones in that area and no internet also

Who's the current manager of Gaisano? Would it be more possible to add more storey's on the old bldg than building a new one accross? I'm not sure the floor limit in that area. If GG has 4 storey's then why not in Gaisano.
