congrats ozamiz for your upcoming robinsons! ^^

full scale mall ni ibutang diri? how big is this area?

initially supermarket with retail shops according to Mayor Nova for the old public market area in Agora.
but i heard pvt vacant lots surrounding the old public market are also being formally offered to RLC already.
Some details are still to be ironed out by the city govt and RLC.
As of now nothing is final yet until contracts are signed :)

yup. RLC have to demolish the old public market.
IDK if G-mall will construct a bridge.
we still have to see the rendering of G-mall annex bldg
but everyone whom i have talked to believes that G-mall should build a covered bridge

DILG awards 15 LGUs P1M each for 'Good Housekeeping'
PIA Press Release
Friday, March 18, 2011

MANILA, March 18 (PIA) -- The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded a total of P15-million to fifteen (15) fourth and fifth class municipalities in the country Thursday in recognition of their “good housekeeping.”

According to Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse M. Robredo, the 15 high performing local government units (LGUs) received a Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) of P1-million each after they being conferred with the Seal of Good Housekeeping.

The “good housekeeping seal” is given to LGUs that have excelled in the areas of planning, budgeting, revenue mobilization, financial management and budget execution, procurement and resource mobilization, he said.

An article posted on its website said good housekeeping by LGUs means excellent performance in governance in their respective localities.

The 15 LGU awardees are the following: Region I – Alilem, Ilocos Sur; Region 2 – Quezon, Isabela and Saguday, Quirino; Region IV-A – Mataasnakahoy, Batangas; Region V- Camaligan, Camarines Sur; CAR – Banaue, Ifugao and Lagawe, Ifugao; Region VII – Amlan, Negros Oriental and Maribojoc, Bohol; Region VIII – Kawayan, Biliran; Region X – Calamba, Misamis Occidental; Region XI – Dujali, Davao del Norte; and CARAGA – Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, and San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

“I am elated that more and more LGUs are becoming high achievers, showcasing reforms and innovations in good governance in their respective localities,” Robredo said.

Aspiring LGUs, he emphasized, should have “no adverse” report from the Commission on Audit, which means that they should have complied with all the requirements of the government’s auditing agency.

The PCF, which has a P500 million fund allocated by Congress, is an incentive granted selectively by the government to best performing local government units that have excelled in the delivery of various public service to their respective constituents.

The incentive, on the other hand, should be used for the implementation of priority projects of LGUs aligned to national government priorities in order to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, as well as maintain core road network to boost tourism and local economic development and comply with the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 and Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

Last year, the PCF awarded a total of P30 million or P1 million each for 30 high performing LGUs, many of them coming from Mindanao. (PIA-NCR/jcp/rjb)

Whirlwind strikes village, affects 65 families in Lanao del Norte
by Lorry V. Gabule
PIA Press Release
Friday, March 18, 2011

ILIGAN CITY, Lanao del Norte, Mar. 18 (PIA)—At least 65 families in Barangays Mukas and Tabigue, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte (LDN), were affected by a whirlwind that occurred in the area at about 8:00 p.m., last night, March 17.

People residing along these coastal areas were alerted by a strong wind that struck their village at the time.

It was high tide and people could hear the sound of the big waves of the sea and looking out of their house, they saw a whirlwind that rendered five (5) families homeless along with 40 houses partially damaged of Puroks 3, 4 and 5 of Mukas.

Another19 houses in the neighboring barangay, Tabigue, were partially damaged, with one (1) family homeless, said LDN Provincial Social Welfare Officer Annabelle S. Mendez.

As the strong wind occurred, the barangay folks feared that this might be an after-shock of the powerful earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, one resident said.

She said the Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) of Kolambugan will be giving cash assistance and construction materials to fix the damaged houses, as well, as put up new houses for the homeless.

Meanwhile, the Provincial DRRMC through the PSWD Office is now giving food packs consisting of rice, noodles, canned goods , coffee, and non-food items like plastic mats, blankets, clothing, kitchen utensils to the victims, especially the homeless.

“Having some families displaced because of this scary experience, we are far blessed that no lives were lost,” expressed Mendez.

Most of those victims with partially damaged houses returned home already, except those houses were totally damaged and who are now seeking temporary shelter at the barangay hall that serves as their evacuation center, Mendez said. (PIA-10)

By Jun Pasaylo (philstar.com) Updated March 14, 2011 11:36 AM

MANILA, Philippines – The municipality of Sinacaban in the province of Misamis Occidental started today the weeklong celebration of its “Sinakbang Festival”.

Sinakbang, a Subanen word that means “catches from the sea”, showcases the cultural heritage of the coastal town, while exhibiting the richness of its seawaters, particularly of Mindanao’s Panguil Bay.

Among the activities lining up for the observance of the 4th Sinakbang Festival are street dancing competition, seafood display contest, and the annual regatta.

I think traders from Pagadian will just go via Aurora, same route to Cagayan. But those from Molave, Mahayag, Tambulig wil go via Tangub since they are closer. Its really good having this barge option to Lanao since there's always a line up in Mukas.

A Filipino-American writer-photographer is banking on the support of her fellow Fil-Am netizens, after being selected as one of six finalists in a photo contest of an international science-oriented magazine.

Philippine-born Yen Baet, currently based in England, is the only Filipino to make it to the finals of the National Geographic Photo Contest. She is now vying for the grand prize: a nine-day tour for two through Peru.

“I happen to be the only Filipino who made it to the finals, and it goes without saying that I am proud to represent the country," Baet said in an e-mail to GMA News Online.

http://www.gmanews.tv/webpics/infotech/hallstatt.jpg

Baet, a native of Ozamiz City in Misamis Occidental, is a freelance photographer, who also writes and paints, according to her online profile.

She earned a degree in English from Holy Angel University in Pampanga, where she lived with her family until she migrated to the US in the early 1990s. She subsequently became a legal resident in the US.

Her entry, titled “Rainy Night in Hallstatt", was taken two years ago during a rainy autumn in the scenic village of Hallstatt in Austria.

“Braving the pouring rain under a small umbrella… protecting my camera, I trudged up the hill to where I would take my shot… and there it was, the church sitting quietly on the still lake, grazed by wisps of low-lying clouds, and embraced in soft mystical light. It looked like a dream," Baet narrated in an interview posted on the blog site Fil-Am Ako.

The winner will be selected through online voting, and Baet is calling her fellow Fil-Ams for support, as only legal US residents are eligible to vote.

Filipino-American writer-photographer Yen Baet won the grand prize of the National Geographic Exceptional Experience photo contest for her photo "Rainy Night in Hallstatt."

On her Twitter account, Baet announced that she won the photo contest: "It's official! Rainy Night in Hallstatt takes Grand Prize at NatGeo Photo Contest. Thanks for the support!"

Fil-Am photographer Yen Baet bested five other finalists in the NatGeo photo contest. Photo from Baet's blog
"A heartfelt THANK YOU once again to those of you who saw this through & made it happen. Will always be grateful," she said in another tweet.

The contest results were also posted on the National Geographic website.

"Those votes were definitely hard-earned, and I can’t stress that enough. Most of it came from people I don’t even know and spurred on by genuine friends and family who believed that this was so important to me, enough for them not to ignore or consider trivial," she wrote on her blog.

Baet was born and raised in the Philippines and eventually immigrated to the US. She lived in Japan and Germany before moving to England, where she is now based. She is the only Filipino to make it to the finals of the National Geographic photo contest. In an earlier interview with GMA News Online, she said she is proud to represent the country in the contest.

She bested five other finalists with her entry that was taken two years ago, on a rainy autumn day in the scenic village of Hallstatt in Austria.

The winner was selected through online voting, and each participant was allowed to cast only one vote. Only legal U.S. residents aged 18 years or older were allowed to vote.

The finalist entry that received the highest number of valid votes during the voting phase was declared Grand Prize winner.

Baet won for herself a nine-day trip for two to Peru, where she and a guest will visit the Incan mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu, listen to music of the Andes, and attend a private weaving demonstration. The approximate retail value of the prize is $13,000.

The five runners-up will each receive a copy of National Geographic Simply Beautiful Photographs, valued at $35 per book. — RSJ, GMA News

Ozamiz, Makati City ink sisterhood pact
Thursday, 24 March 2011 00:00
By ELENA S. PELARE

The long wait is over , Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez and Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay, Jr., had binding themselves as big and small sisters thru a sisterhood pact, Thursday morning, at the city mayors office, 21st floor Makati City Hall.

Witnesses and took important part of the historic event were former Ozamiz city mayor and now ABC president Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr., councilors, Romeo Jimenez, Atty. Roberto Cantago Jr., Rico Auman, Simplicia Neri, Cecilia Mabanag, Michael Tagal, Irene Embuscado and July Go.

The delegates are properly introduced during the occasion. On the part of Ozamiz delegation, Ozamiz City chief of staff Miguel Ochate is tasked in the introduction of the entourage of Mayor Nova Echavez. There are four other Local Government Units entering the sisterhood agreement with Makati namely the municipality of Bangued province of Abra, St. Bernard town, province of Southern Leyte, municipality of Pulupanda province of Negros Occidental and Sto. Domingo Albay province.

With the just entered pack between the city of Makati and Ozamiz, Mayor Parojinog-Echavez is optimistic that the dynamics of Makati City will be learned by the front liners of Ozamiz that would shape the development goal of the City. Mayor Parojinog-Echavez and Mayor Binay, Jr. are both successors of their fathers . The realization of the sisterhood pact between Ozamiz and Makati is the product of mutual friendship established by the then Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, Sr., and then Makati City Mayor now vice-president of the Republic of the Philippines, Jesus Jose Maria Binay.

In her speech before the signing of the sisterhood agreement, Mayor Echavez recognized the efforts of her predecessor who happened to be her father and the efforts of Vice-President Binay . "Vice-President Binay and my father are both visionaries whose outlook are even higher than the highest - rise -building in Makati City. The preparation in bringing this pact has started during the time of my father and the Mayor Junjun's father, that today I am ripping the fruit of their labors", the young lady mayor said.

KALAHI-CIDSS SUCCESS STORY: MisOcc has new day care center
Thursday, 24 March 2011 00:00

OVER the years, the community in barangay Poblacion, Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental has desired to have a safe and comfortable Day Care Center. As much as they wanted to provide a conducive learning environment for their children, numerous constraints hindered them to make this dream possible. The lack of financial resources and the area where to construct the project are among the major problems that the community have to solve.

When Kalahi-CIDSS was introduced to the municipality of Bonifacio, it stirred up the hope and the enthusiasm of the people in Barangay Poblacion to fulfill their long time dream. Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) is a community-driven development project that aims to empower people and alleviate them from poverty by giving seed funds for social services such as day care centers. This is one of the anti-poverty projects brought to the communities by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and is financially supported by World Bank (WB).

Since this is a community-driven project, the people are the ones who identify the kind of infrastructure project they need. The people are also given capability building seminars to equip them in preparation of the sub-project implementation since they would be the one to manage the funds, procurement of materials and the making of reports. MSgt. Leopoldo Gilvero (Ret.), a Kalahi-CIDSS volunteer, stated in his testimony that they have found out that the people and the children in their barangay needed a safe and comfortable day care center since their current facility is made of light materials and is not safe for the school children.

During the barangay assembly, they really worked hard to present and defend their chosen sub-project in order to get the vote of their fellow constituents. Since not all proposed sub-projects are going to be constructed because of limited resources, barangay Poblacion is one of the 13 barangays prioritized for the Kalahi-CIDSS project among the 28 barangays in the municipality.

To realize the sub-project, Lucia Digamo a barangay kagawad and a Kalahi-CIDSS volunteer, offered to donate their inherited land for the day care center. In her testimony she said that their family is happy to donate their 116.7 square meters of land because they know that a lot of children will benefit and also for the generations to come. Through Kalahi-CIDSS and the people will to develop their community and provide a good education to their children, the day care center of Barangay Poblacion has now been completed.

The sub-project was inaugurated March 8, 2011 and was attended by the municipal mayor Samson Dumanjug, board member of the province of Misamis Occidental Edwin Florida, barangay chair Felixberto Chatto, Kalahi-CIDSS implementers, with Engr.

NBI chief confirms plan to transfer office to Ozamiz
Nora Sorio ; Thursday, 24 March 2011 ; Goldstar Daily

ILIGAN CITY-- In a forum at city hall middle of this week, an official of the
National Bureau of Investigations confirmed plans of transferring its office from
this city to another neighbor city.

District chief of NBI Atty. Renato Mandaue, told his audience that there are
plans of relocating its office to Ozamiz City. This is so, because or principally of
the amount of the rental which he said the office had to come up with every
month. He did not say though how much the rent for the place. But he added if
not principally for this, NBI would like to retain its office here in this city. Earlier,
a city councilor here has taken steps to do something about the said move
which has been circulating for several months now.

City Councilor Moises DalisayJr., the Sangguniang Panlungsod's chair on the
Committee on Laws was quoted as saying then that he would seek the
approval of Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz to look for a place for the said NBI office.
Mandaue incidentally, along with other agencies, had foiled an attempt by
some unscrupulous personalities, early this month, to bring 15 persons, 3 of
which were minors, to Tawi-tawi by way of Zamboanga. Alerted by one
parent, Nenita delos Santos, Mandaue and company were able to intercept the
human traffickers and rescue the would be victims

PIA Press Release
Wednesday, March 23, 2011

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental, Mar. 23 (PIA) --- President Benigno S. Aquino III graced, today, the awarding of social services grants to beneficiaries in Northern Mindanao.

The event was held at the Oro Christian Grace School in Barangay Macasandig, this city, where recipients of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) programs received assistance and grants.

These social programs included the Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K), Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens.

At least seven (7) associations were awarded with checks with amounts ranging from P100,000 to P150,000 under the SEA-K program, a livelihood and capability building program aimed at enabling the poor to have access to credit and promote entrepreneurship, namely:

The Pearl SKA in Kadingilan, Bukidnon, Generosity SKA in Baroy, Lanao del Norte, Kauswagan SKA in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, Odiongan SKA in Odiongan, Gingoog City, and Amethyst SKA in Kadingilan, Bukidnon received P150,000 each while the Manobo-Talaandig SKA and the Kinamatta SKA both from Maramag, Bukidnon got P125,000 and P100,000, respectively.

A total of P148,228,847.59 has been released to 1,378 associations or 33,803 SEA-K beneficiaries all over region 10 as of February 2011.

Moreover, twenty (20) recipients were also awarded with 4Ps cash cards of which ten were from Barangay Patag while the remaining half came from Barangay Bulua, this city.

The 4Ps is a poverty reduction and social development strategy of the national government that provides conditional cash grants to extremely poor households to improve their health nutrition and education.

As of March 2011, a total of P974,392,152 has been released to 88,332 4Ps beneficiaries in region 10.

Of these beneficiaries, 41,586 came from Lanao del Norte, 15,336 from Misamis Occidental, 4,111 from Misamis Oriental, 601 from Camiguin, 18,337 from Bukidnon, 2,663 from Cagayan de Oro City, 1,131 from Iligan City, and 4,567 from Tangub City.

i heard that their vehicle was fired upon by armed men along the hiway near tangub city today.
their staff was supposed to deliver money to Molave.
i guess the driver did not stop upon seeing those armed men.
i assumed those were robbers. Somebody from the bank, security agency or anybody
must have tipped off those armed men that the vehicle would be carrying money.

PAO supports ‘Barangay Nova’ program
Friday, 25 March 2011 00:00
By JEMAR R. PELARE

Feeling the importance and sincerity of the administration of Mayor Nova
Princess Parojinog-Echavez towards achieving the vision of a real "Better
image, better lives" the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) has offered its out-of-
the-office legal services to the poorest of the poor by going out from their
office and supporting the Barangay Nova program. Atty. Alberto Cagaanan,
chief of PAO said , he understand the purposes of the Barangay Nova and he is
one of the public servant who is more than willing to render extra time to
serve the Ozamiznon needing legal opinions and legal matters that affects their lives.

The Barangay Nova program is an innovation of the administration of Mayor
Nova in bringing the city hall closer to the people.

All the day-to-day transactions at the city hall can be done in the barangay
whenever there is Barangay Nova.
This innovation clearly defines the importance of public value in every single
centavo spent by the government in its medical, dental and feeding program,
including the complete services of the Local Civil Registrar from the issuance of
death and birth certificates and marriage contract.

The teaching of agriculture and fishery ‘s technology, livelihood training,
distribution of seeds and other farm inputs , animal vaccination, payment of
business, real properties and other taxes, consultation with the barangay
officials, scheduling for road rehabilitations and other usage of the heavy
equipments of the City Government. Mayor Parojinog-Echavez has lauded the
PAO for its voluntary legal services rendered for Barangay Nova. Barangay
Nova program has started October of 2010 and it continuously gaining
popularity among the barangay folk. Helping the Barangay Nova in its dental o
utreach program is the Dentistry Department of Misamis University.

Under-23 football lures 38 squads
Saturday, March 19, 2011
Manila Standard Today

A TOTAL of 38 teams from all over the country are set to see action in the Suzuki-national under-23 football tournament.

Philippine Football Federation president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta Jr. said the tournament was made possible after the PFF entered into an agreement with Suzuki Philippines to hold the event during a signing ceremony held yesterday at the Football House in Pasig City.

The tournament will be participated in by teams from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and the National Capital Region. Teams will battle to make the semifinals of the group stage eliminations, which start March 29 in Ozamis City.

“We have already agreed on the format, and when the tournament will begin,” said Araneta, who formally received a check worth P3.2 million from Suzuki Philippines president Satoshi Uchida in support of the tournament.

About 18 teams will take part in the Luzon stage, 13 teams will see action in the Mindanao eliminations and five in the Visayas. Two teams will represent the National Capital Region. Peter Atencio

^^^^Suzuki to stage U-23 football tourney in PH
By Barry Viloria, abs-cbnNEWS.com
Posted at 03/03/2011 11:02 PM | Updated as of 03/03/2011 11:02 PM

MANILA, Philippines – ASEAN Football Federation Cup sponsor, Suzuki, will hold a national under-23 (U-23) football tournament in the country, said Philippine Football Federation chief Mariano Araneta Thursday.

The Suzuki U-23 National Football competition will kick off this March and will run until May, he said.

The PFF chief said the tournament will adapt the rules and guidelines of the AFF, wherein each team will play on a home-and-away series.

There will be a total of 8 teams— 2 each from the country's biggest islands and major region: Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and the National Capital Region.

In the elimination, the 2 teams from each territory will compete for the right to represent their region in the semifinals.

The top 4 will battle their way to the finals.

Araneta said the best players in the tournament will make it to the national team, which will compete in the 26th Southeast Asian Games in November.

Suzuki, a Japanese corporation, has been sponsoring the AFF Cup since 2008.

During the 2010 Suzuki Cup, the Philippine Azkals made its mark in the Asean football scene by defeating then reigning champ Vietnam.

The Azkals eventually climbed their way up to the semifinal round.

DTI launches NERBAC Ozamiz
Thursday, March 24, 2011 ; MH online

LOOKING to standardized the business processing time in the province of Misamis Occidental, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on March 4 lauched National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC)-Ozamiz.
DTI provincial director Delia Ayano, said Ozamiz City came second to Iligan City to put up NERBAC office in Region 10.

By establishing a Nerbac office in Ozamiz, the delivery of business intervention to the potential investor will be faster owing to the more efficient process of business registration and licensing, she said.

DTI assitant regional director Linda Boniao said NERBAC-Ozamiz City will serve as one-stop action that facilities documentation of all requirments in the establishment of business enterprise in the city.

She added that it also indentifies possible areas for investment; investment procedures and incentives, links perspective enterprenuers to credit services and estbalishes and updated data bank of all industries and business enterprises in the city.

In her message, Ozamiz City mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez said the establishment of NERBAC Ozamiz is sending a good signal to the business sector that the city is an ‘investor friendly’ area.

Saying she will support the program, Echavez underscores that a lot of investors have showing interest in putting business in the city.

The Nerbac was created through Republic Act 7470 to provide integrated business support services to prospective investors.

The NERBAC is created to support the policy of the government to enhance economic growth by providing necessary and strategic economic and business information and research assistance thereby expediting the process of business formation and encouraging the growth of entrepreneurship in the country.

The Center shall be manned by representatives of government agencies with regulatory functions so that the businessmen need not waste time going around in various offices that they need to transact with.
Under the regulatory aspect, the center shall organize a one-stop shop of services or assistance center that shall expedite the processing of all government requirements necessary in establishing a business. Member agencies with regulatory function like the Social Security System, PhilHealth, Bureau of Internal Revenue and the like will all be in the Center to help the entrepreneurs.

On the investment aspect, the member-agencies shall provide information to prospective investors, both local and foreign, on the different kinds of business opportunities that are in accord with set investment priorities of the government; to establish an updated data bank of all industries and business enterprise; and to prepare pre-feasibility studies of existing as well as possible industries in the area that can help entrepreneurs decide on what business to venture into.

The Center shall also conduct monitoring of technological advances relevant to business and economy for dissemination to the general public. It likewise formulates and coordinates the conduct of relevant research projects as well as monitor and collate economic, technical and industry research output of all agencies that have reference to business enterprises and to investors in the area with focus on the utilization and how to harness the indigenous resources and technology that are required for our development initiatives.

Reactions to the Presentation “Daylight in the Philippines: Accelerating Progress”

By Marlene Macaraeg – Camat, Board Chair, PhilExport-10A

Philippine Economic Briefing

March 23, 2011, Mallberry Suites Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City

Issues on Infrastructure

Issue #1: Need for additional budget support to the Laguindingan International Airport (LIA) Offsite Components

Background

The Laguindingan International Airport will be operational soon. However, offsite preparations are also needed for it to be efficient as a major facility and further boost Northern Mindanao’s competitiveness.

Recommendations

■Government to provide incentives for more air transport providers to locate in LIA and offer direct flights
■Budget for road widening of the Cagayan de Oro to Iligan stretch of the Butuan-CDO–Iligan Road (BCIR) to address heavy traffic flow once LIA will operate.
■Provide incentives to investors who can put up the necessary facilities in Laguindingan e.g. utilities (water system) and fast ferries from Laguindingan to Ozamiz, Camiguin, CDO and Iligan.

RDC-X presents NorMin dev’t imperatives to PNoy

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Misamis Oriental, Mar. 24 (PIA 10) –-Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz of Iligan City and Chairperson of the Regional Development Council, region 10 (RDC-X)presented to President Benigno S. Aquino III the development imperatives of Region 10, during the Philippine Economic Briefing at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, yesterday March 23, this city.
Cruz said, Northern Mindanao has the 3rd highest per capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the country and the largest regional economy in Mindanao.
As such, it is poised to become the most competitive, most efficient and most attractive transshipment hub and the leader in high-value agri-based and fishery products in the island in the next six years.
To push the regional economy further, Cruz said RDC-X proposed to the President the following Laguindingan Airport-allied projects:
The establishment of commercial seaport, implementation of the Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Corridor (CIC) Mindanao Railway system (MRS) project and the road widening into four (4) lanes of the Iligan-Cagayan de Oro-Butuan Road (ICBR) and Sayre highway.
Thus, Cruz appealed for the issuance of a Presidential Order certifying the project as urgent and priority and to direct the Dept. of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) to initiate the preparation of necessary studies and provide funding assistance for its immediate implementation.
He also called for the conversion of the 17-kilometer road from Misamis Oriental to Bukidnon going direct from the PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority (PIA) into a national road which needs an additional funding requirement of PhP786.68 million.
The third is the Panguil Bay Bridge which would connects Misamis Occidental to mainland region 10 through Tubod town in Lanao del Norte to Tangub City in Mis. Occ.
With its competitive advantages as to strategic location, vast and rich natural resources, potential for industrial development, power generation providers and generally secure environment, RDC-X is positive this development imperatives could turn Northern Mindanao as the leading industrial core and trade center in Southern Philippines, Cruz added. N. Mindanao wonders to be showcased at Mall of Asia
By Loui S. Maliza
Monday, March 28, 2011 ; Sunstar

NORTHERN Mindanao's beauties and wonders will take center stage during the "Pasundayag" at the Mall of Asia on April 14 to 19 in Manila.

Through a variety of cultural presentations depicting the rich culture and the abundance of the region's natural resources, Department of Tourism (DOT)-Northern Mindanao information officer Deceus Esmedalla said it’s going to be a blast for Northern Mindanao.

"We're out for a surprise and the cultural shows being prepared by our local talents are deemed to take the spectators' breath away," Esmedalla said.

Among the dignitaries to be invited in the "Pasundayag", Esmedalla said, are the mayors, ambassadors, the lawmakers from the senate and congress and the tourism regional directors.

Esmedalla said it is a major attempt by the local tourism agency to promote what the people of Northern Mindanao can offer to visitors.

Event performers will not just bring the good news from Mindanao in the forthcoming Pasundayag.

"They'll also be selling our best items in Northern Mindanao that tourists could not refuse to buy," the official added.

Resulta sa special audit sa Ozamiz dili angay nga kabalak-an
Thursday, March 24, 2011 ; MH online

(NEPTALIE BATOLENIO)
