kramwerdnalasru June 30th, 2011, 05:12 AM Hi folks... Absenot is back. Hehe.
Nakakita na jud kos zip line sa Hoyohoy gahapon. Grabe kahabog murag magduha duha kog sakay ato duh.:lol::lol:. Pero sulayan to nako.
Nangutana ko sa staff didto wala pa daw exact date sa opening sa zip line. Abi pud nako tinood nato ilang gi post sa FB na June 28.. :ohno::bash:
kinsa'y nabanhaw? welcome back jeb! :)
kramwerdnalasru June 30th, 2011, 05:14 AM A drug store and general merchandise will open soon in lam-an Go bldg.
dugay na man ni nga plano di ba? kinsa tag-iya gold? nagsugod na construction? :)
kramwerdnalasru June 30th, 2011, 05:15 AM Got some info that Mindanao Solidmark Inc., of Cagayan de Oro
will be having a slot daw in the ongoing expansion of Gaisano Ozamiz :)
dako ni siya nga appliance store? maayo kay mura siyag abenson, sm appliance center, or automatic center... :okay:
kramwerdnalasru June 30th, 2011, 05:18 AM Do you think that if they put ferry from lag-ozc our airport will probably shut down?
i don't think so gold... many would still prefer to fly via ozamiz especially those from other towns in mis occ and zambo sur...
even ako kung naa'y airport sa ato ngano muadto pa man ko LAG... except of course if the flight is international... the worst
thing that could happen, IMO, is that the number of flights will not increase significantly which i think is bearable... as long
as we have regular flights to and from manila and cebu, there's nothing to worry about... :okay:
*GoldFish* June 30th, 2011, 05:26 AM pero kung e compare nimu sa Emcor, quality appliance, citi appliance, Imperial, etc! murag lesser cla gamay and yes naa pa gyud pod clay tinaguan nga presyo..
Even I agree nga barato ang Gloria Bazar pero Imperial akong suki kay wala koy e cash sa Gloria :lol:
You can have installment plan in Gloria Bazar. Mr. Kai shek is a nice person when it comes to bussiness. You can also do pre-order.
*GoldFish* June 30th, 2011, 05:36 AM nawala gyud ang akong excitement gold pagkabalo nako nga 500 ila "promo rate"... 18 gud mi kabuok, mamatay pod ang mubayad... :bash::bash:
pero muadto gyud ko bahala'g ako ra isa...:lol:
Thats 9k! Wow! Gamay rana para nimo kram! Kadungog ko naa na sad silay buffet didto. Free ride from baga to hoyohoy for more than 10 persons.
Anak sa seven seas. Sa Go bldg ra sila mag abang.
*GoldFish* June 30th, 2011, 05:51 AM ^^ kayamukat gold... tan-awon lang lagi... mas barato pod guro mag-dolphin island na lang... :)
Dolphin island still cost you 500 and up. Boat ride + swim with dolphin + snorkel gear
*GoldFish* June 30th, 2011, 05:58 AM i don't think so gold... many would still prefer to fly via ozamiz especially those from other towns in mis occ and zambo sur...

Right! But Lag is not yet catering intl flights so domestic pa ilaha tanan. It might be the airline companies will decide to stop or lessen their flights in our airport. But if the price remains cheaper here then we will have more passengers.
nivramster June 30th, 2011, 06:01 AM dako ni siya nga appliance store? maayo kay mura siyag abenson, sm appliance center, or automatic center... :okay:
they have i think 12 branches all over the northernpart of mindanao..
thier biggest branch is in Limketkai Mall..
nivramster June 30th, 2011, 06:02 AM hahaha tinakot mo ako lalo niv..hehehe:lol::lol:
wag kang matakot... hahaha
nivramster June 30th, 2011, 06:04 AM nawala gyud ang akong excitement gold pagkabalo nako nga 500 ila "promo rate"... 18 gud mi kabuok, mamatay pod ang mubayad... :bash::bash:
pero muadto gyud ko bahala'g ako ra isa...:lol:
Sus :bash: mumho ra nas sweldo nimo kram
paksi-i lang sa gud pud ng imong billiones diha.. hehehe
nivramster June 30th, 2011, 06:06 AM Right! But Lag is not yet catering intl flights so domestic pa ilaha tanan. It might be the airline companies will decide to stop or lessen their flights in our airport. But if the price remains cheaper here then we will have more passengers.
for sure ang mga taga lanao mabahin jud..
*GoldFish* June 30th, 2011, 06:15 AM for sure ang mga taga lanao mabahin jud..
But if the price is cheaper here then I dont think so. Ferry fare + tricycle cost you only 50pesos? vs bus lanao-lag + lag-airport.

Sakto ka nivs. One advantage in lag is that daghan choices of flights especially if you have emergency plan schedule. Maka benefit sad ta ani labi na sa mga pasahero nato diri nga ma byaan sa ila flight.
nivramster June 30th, 2011, 06:33 AM ^^ yup.. mao pud nay isa sa mga advantage :okay:

That ferry will only happen once Laguindingan would have established direct international connections in a capacity like what Mactan have now. By that time it happens, Ozamiz would already have probably multiple flights to Manila just like what Tagbilaran or Butuan have now. It is much convenient taking a connecting flight than taking a ferry with your luggages then transfering to another vehicle to get to the terminal itself, whereas if you transit in the airport itself, you know you are already just connecting from one side to the other. If Panguil bridge will be built, then that is even more convenient but the number of flights will not drop for the simple reason that passengers from Lanao would prefer Ozamiz even more because the terminal fee is less plus you get to the airport in less time and processing to pre-departure would be simpler. Large terminals always give you more jitters and anxiety because you can't see the plane parked beyond. In simple airports like Ozamiz and Pagadian, you can still pace yourself indulging in native food in the nearby carinderia and still be confident you can be at pre-departure in due time. Just keep our provincial terminals simple, clean and orderly.
Blueleo June 30th, 2011, 01:41 PM i heard si Cong. Ocampos ang nag try sa Hoyohoy Zipline last friday. kuyog niya ang iyang mga staff ug amigo.

im not sure about this. If the victim was indeed released, it will surely come out in the news plus the denial by the military that ransom was being paid by the kidnapped victims family.
as usual, they will always reiterate the no ransom policy of the govt.

mckentoy1941 July 1st, 2011, 04:39 AM korek ka master niv ... church of St. John the Baptist ang name ana d i hehe :bash:
Naa ko nasilip sa net...
A cathedral is the chief church of a diocese in which the bishop has his throne.
Basilica has both an architectural sense and a canonical sense. In the canonical sense, the term usually refers to major buildings. Major basilicas include St. Peter's, St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul-without-the-Walls... one of the features of major basilicas is that they have a "holy door". The pope can declare a particular church as a basilica.
"Chapel" is a very broad term, and can apply to anything from a section of a much larger church or cathedral, to small buildings. The word itself is associated with the idea of relics, since it is drawn from the idea that St. Martin divided his cape (chapelle) in half and left half with a beggar.
"Church" is a word that covers pretty much everything given above... generally any building set aside "in perpetuity for the public exercise of Divine worship."
nivramster July 1st, 2011, 04:51 AM ^^ so does this mean, St. John the baptist of jimenez is not a cathedral?
*GoldFish* July 1st, 2011, 04:58 AM Mao lage..dre man unta ko mag highschool.. pero pagka grade 3 nako nagtransfer nako sa tudela... hahah

korek.. it's the main objective sa mga kidnappers to have the ransom..
hypocrite kaau kung mutoo nga walay ransom gihatag.. what's the purpose of the abduction then kung dili lang man diay gihapon makakuha ug ransom money ang mga kidnappers.. :bash:
ice_fire July 1st, 2011, 05:27 AM Naa ka puyo lam-an ice? When man ka mag uli-an sa tangub?

adrian_01 July 1st, 2011, 06:32 AM I hope ozamiz will grow at par with the national growth. We can't deny the fact that its twin city, CDO, is now considered a highly urbanized city. We are lagged behind with all our neighboring cities. Pagadian's economy is booming with the construction of robinsons and sm malls. Iligan is growing industrially. Dipolog and Dapitan are doing excellently in tourism.
Whereas, the 3 cities here in Misamis Occidental are posting negative growths in their respective economies. Is it true the our cities (Ozamiz, Oroquieta and Tangub) are included in the POOREST cities in the Philippines?

adrian_01 July 1st, 2011, 09:19 AM The economic developments of our city is very slow. Last year the GDP growth of the Philippines was 7 plus percent but we don't feel the impact of such growth here in our city and the rest of Misamis Occidental.
Some projects, i think, will not push through. The panguil bay bridge is very REMOTE.

Blueleo July 2nd, 2011, 07:30 AM RDC okays Pulangi hydro plant project
Friday, 01 July 2011 ; Goldstar daily
THE Regional Development Council has approved the proposed 300-megawatt Pulangi V hydro electric power plant project in Bukidnon and North Cotabato. The approval came a week after the project proponents presented the project to the RDC's infrastructure committee. After nearly three years of preparations, the proponents won the approval of the RDC during its Ozamiz meeting last Tuesday.
The planned hydro-electric power plant project is seen to contribute significantly to the power supply in Mindanao which is projected to have a shortfall of about 500-mw by 2014.
Currently, the Mindanao power supply is in a precarious situation as the isLand's reserves have gone down to about seven percent, way below the industry buffer rate of 13 percent. But the RDC asked the project proponents, Greenergy Development Corp. and the First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative (Fibeco), to update the project feasibility study and incorporate in it an updated financial and economic analysis.
Engr. Cerael Donggay, chief executive officer of Greenergy, said the project proponents would comply. He added that the projected financial internal rate of return (Firr) and economic internal rate of return (Eirr) are way above the minimum standard of at least 15 percent set by the government. The RDC approval came even before the environment department could make an environmental impact assessment which is a requirement for the issuance of the required environmental compliance certificate. Donggay said this was being processed.
Also, the project has yet to receive the green light of the National Water Resources Board and the National Commission for the Indigenous People (NCIP). Jaime Pacampara, head of the RDC-infrastructure committee's technical secretariat, said local governments in Bukidnon and North Cotabato would also need to endorse the project. Pulangi V is located in the southern part of Bukidnon covering the towns of Kitaotao, Dangcagan, Kibawe and Damulog.
It is some 40 kilometers downstream of the existing Pulangi IV (255 mw) while its dam site would be located in the municipality of President Roxas in North Cotabato. Of the 22 barangays to be adversely affected by the project, only two villages in Kibawe town have yet to issue their endorsements. The Pulangi V plant would have three units of 100 mw each. It would involve the construction of river diversion facilities, dams, embankment and reservoir filling and commissioning.
A 20-km double-circuit 138-kilovolt transmission line would link it to an existing power substation in Kibawe.
The project is expected to be commissioned 69 months after the commencement of construction. The project was originally proposed by the National Power Corp. (Napocor) in 1991 but had to repeatedly defer implementation of the project due to the power crisis and the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
Napocor eventually gave up on the project in 2001 with the passage of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act.
Incidentally, Donggay served as one of the vice presidents of Napocor in the '90s. Greenergy said the project would help stabilize Mindanao's power supply. More importantly, it would generate clean and cheap renewable energy. It said the Pulangi V project would "neutralize" the high power rates in Mindanao.

seastwofly July 2nd, 2011, 01:31 PM Misamis Occidental biz groups propose P5 hike in daily wage
Thursday, June 30, 2011
OZAMIZ CITY -- A daily wage increase of P5 has been proposed by different business groups in Misamis Occidental.
The proposal is contained in a joint position paper submitted to the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-Northern Mindanao during a recent public hearing held in Cagayan de Oro City.
The activity was held to get the side of both labor and management groups in Northern Mindanao on the petition of the Allied Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) for an across the board daily wage increase of P79.66 in the region.
"There is no question about increasing the daily wages of our laborers because of the intervening conditions that the country is facing today. The only problem is how much such increase would be," said lawyer Alan Macaraya, director of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole)-Northern Mindanao, who is also the Chairperson of RTWPB.
In their position paper, the business groups of the province said they cannot afford to give in to the petition of ALU-TUCP because it will defeat the purpose of inviting investors to invest in the province and provide work to unemployed Misamisnons.
Misamis Occidental is predominantly an agri-based province that is largely dependent on weather conditions, thus prices of agricultural products are often dictated by outside economic players.
As such, more than 85 percent of the population's income is derived from agriculture while 80 percent is derived from the sale of copra and rice/palay.
The price of copra is often dictated by the price of oil in the world market, while the price of rice/palay is often affected by the entry of smuggled rice from various neighboring countries.
The business groups also pointed out that the inventory of standing coconut trees has tremendously decreased due to its continuous cutting for lumber as alternative wood supply and a means for immediate income generation.
Because of poverty and lack of income opportunities in the province coupled with desperations on the unfavorable price of copra in the past, many of the coconut farmers resorted to the cutting of coconut trees as a means to obtain immediate money to bridge their economic needs.
They also said that in reality, Misamis Occidental is not a tourist destination because of the limited tourist facilities it can offer.
"Although we have air trips to and from Cebu and Manila, as well as marine vessels going to and from the different islands, Misamis Occidental does not have the potential to invite numerous guests and tourists to come to its places because they have only the Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park as a major tourist destination," the groups said.
The other reasons cited by the groups for their inability to grant the P79.66 daily wage increase are that only retail stores are predominant businesses in the province while big stores are controlled by businessmen from outside that resulted to a loss in competitiveness of local entrepreneurs; prices of gasoline and crude oil are not stable resulting to an increase in the costs of operation and that business taxes are continuously increasing every year.
As computed by the groups, the daily wage increase of P79.66 will result in the increase of P2,452.96 per month or P29,435.56 per year in employer cost for every employee.
"With this proposed salary adjustment, businesses could not imagine how to increase selling prices of goods and services sold to cover up the annual increase in operating expense by almost P30,000 per employee per year," the groups said in a statement.
The signatories of the position paper include the presidents of the Ozamiz City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation Inc., Misamis Occidental Chamber, Ozamiz Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Elvira D. Tan, PCCI regional governor in Northern Mindanao. (Rutchie Aguhob/PIA)

By Elaine O. Ratunil
Businessweek Mindanao
OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, June 29, 2011 (PIA)—Ozamiz City Mayor Nova Princess E. Parojinog-Echavez hinted that participatory and consultative democracy in planning is a key towards rightful governance as envisioned by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III.
The lady executive expressed this during the 89th Full Council Meeting of the Regional Development Council in Northern Mindanao (RDC-X) held in Ozamiz City, yesterday, June 28, as she underscored the importance of planning in the process of development.
“Ozamiznons are very proud to host the RDC-X 89th Full Council Meeting for the first time in this area,” she said.
This undertaking has belied the accusations that the PNoy Administration has not prioritized planning as part of the National Policy, Echavez, who id also the RDC-X Chairperson for Infrastructure and Utilities Development Committee, said.
“Our presence today is the living testimony that even at the Regional and Sub-Regional levels, planning especially, participatory planning, is part of the conditions necessary for development,” Echavez said.
In fact it has been said that the evolution of a carefully processed plan makes the bottle for the development half won, the Mayor added.
She also said this activity has put together the best people and the right competencies to put in place the development road map that will realize the vision of the region and with optimism we are proud to be part of.
Meanwhile, Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 3 directs the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) to coordinate the preparation of the Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) and Medium-Term Public Investment Program (MTPIP) for 2010-2016.
This is to be jointly formulated by the executive and legislative branches of the government in a participative process involving the other sectors of the Philippine society – the marginalized sectors and communities, and private organizations.
The said MC is specifically issued to translate the “Social Contract with the Filipino people’ into consistent policies and programs, and considering the need to specify the resource allocation of the national government to ensure efficiency in public spending and implement effective government policies, programs and project. PIA Press Release

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, July 1 (PIA) -–Governor Jurdin Jesus M. Romualdo of Camiguin has been nominated as Chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in the region.
This, after the members of the Regional Development Council in Northern Mindanao (RDC-X) approved a resolution endorsing and supporting Gov. Romualdo’s nomination to Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III, during its 89th Full Council Meeting held in Ozamiz City, early this week.
The RPOC play a key role in crime prevention by being on the frontline of the government's continuing efforts to enhance the level of cooperation between the police and the private sector.
After all, POC’s were created through Executive Order 309 to implement and execute national policies, plans and programs on peace and order.
Among its goals is to empower the local community towards greater participation and involvement in the formulation and implementation of peace and order programs.
They are also tasked under the law to monitor the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at the regional levels and the operation of Civilian Volunteer Self-Defense Organizations and counterinsurgency programs and activities in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
They are likewise required to make periodic assessments of the prevailing peace and order situation in their respective areas of responsibility and receive complaints, if any, against government personnel, whether civilian or military.
These complaints are indorsed to the agency concerned, which are, in turn, compelled to submit reports of action taken on these grievances to the RPOCs.
Meanwhile, RDC-X Chairperson Lawrence Cruz, City Mayor of Iligan, in a press forum, recommended to immediately convene RPOC to address pressing issues and concerns on peace and order in the region.
“Without peace and order, there will be no sustained economic development,” the RDC-X Chair reiterated.” (PIA-10)
