No need to worry about this market structure going to rot because if Robinsons will acquire it, those buildings will be demolished anyways. However, the city really needs to establish that through road so this site will not become a dead end. I think this why this place is struggling, if not for the IBT, nothing could have survived. When this agora was done way back; it was perceived as a great example of a bus and commercial project in the MissOcc and Zamboanga Peninsula area. The only other better one during that time was the one in Cagayan. Sadly, this project just look as it was way back when. This could have been like Oroquieta Town Centre. By the way, is Savemore on-going at GeeGee? Thanks.

This is a nice modern frameless glass at the corner and I was hoping Goldilocks can make use of that, would be good for lunch and dinner since sitting at ground level is right on a busy street.

Pusod said among the completed projects were those funded by the DPWH Regular Infrastructure Program for Calendar Year 2011 particularly the construction of two sections of the Bonifacio-Don Victoriano Road involving 0.520 km. worth P11.92 million and some 0.600 km. worth P9.30 million.

Also under the DPWH Regular Infra for CY 2011 is the construction of the Ozamiz-Pagadian Road involving 2.07 km. worth P37.17 million, which is still on-going and 65 percent completed.

Pusod said the construction of the multi-purpose building at the Lorenzo Tan Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Barangay Lorenzo Tan, this city, under the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of the Coop Natcco Partylist worth P1 million is now 80 percent completed.

Meanwhile, two projects which were implemented starting CY 2010 under the PDAF of Congressman Loreto Leo Ocampos and contracted by the RN Builders and General Merchandise, have been completed as of the period.

These projects included the improvement or expansion of the Carriageway along the Ozamiz-Oroquieta Road, Sinacaban Section, involving 1.416 km. worth P10 million and the Tudela Section involving some 0.370 km., also worth P10 million.

TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental, Nov. 30 (PIA) -– With the final touches done on the replica of the Christmas Symbols being readied for the Dec. 1 opening, people of the city are keeping their fingers crossed that the festival will draw more tourists, this year.

This, as the City Tourism Office (CTO) data show that 239,209 persons who visited the city, were walk-in guests during the Christmas Symbols Festival, from Dec. 1, 2010 to Jan. 9, 2011.

Vicenta B. Paller, Senior Tourism Operations Officer (STOO), said this number of walk-in guests represented almost 50 percent of 502,116, the total number of persons who visited the city and availed of its public and private facilities from January 1, 2010 to January 9, 2011.

The festival begins in Dec. 1, when all the lights of the Christmas Symbols are put on and ends up in the first week of January when all the lights are put off.

SW has a way better air circulation because it is planned as a true mall set-up. The supply air to the public area is isolated from the tenants which has their own. Why is there a billiard table at Calda's pizza?, for the ambiance? I think they need to reserve that in a location that suits a more sophisticated crowd.

MANILA, Dec. 1 (PIA) —- President Benigno Aquino III conferred the 2011 Bagong Bayani Awards to the Filipino crew of three international vessels and 15 other land-based overseas Filipino workers in a ceremony held at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Thursday.
Filipino seafarers who risked their lives by keeping their ships afloat during the destructive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011 led this year's awardees as outstanding overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

The awardees for the culture and arts category were Rosalito Ceño Nebre and Elmer Ortega Dumlao.

PDEA agents arrest 20 drug pushers in separate raids

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed 20 drug peddlers, five of them said to be notorious operators of drug dens, during massive drug operations in Bulacan, General Santos City, Cagayan, Pangasinan, Iligan City, Oroquieta City and Tabacco, Albay recently.

PDEA director General Jose Gutierrez identified the alleged 5 drug den operators as Rizza Jacinto, Rodolfo Tinea, Rowena Jacinto, Dabio Bondoc, and Fernando Fernando.

Gutierrez said Rizza Jacinto was considered as the shabu queen in the area.

The PDEA operatives swooped down at the alleged shabu tiangge located in Barangay Banga, Plaridel Bulacan early morning yesterday.

Joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 3 and the National Capital Region , in coordination with the local police, raided four establishments in a compound in Barangay Banga, Plaridel, Bulacan, around 5 a.m. by virtue of four separate search warrants.

Operatives were able to recover sachets and bulks of shabu and paraphernalia from the four establishments operated by the suspects.

Rizza Jacinto, who was locally considered as the shabu queen in the area, yielded approximately 50 grams of shabu. Also recovered from her house was one firearm together with an NBI badge allegedly owned by Rodolfo Tinea, her live-in partner.

About one meter away from Jacinto’s house was the house of Rowena Jacinto, her aunt, where several sachets of shabu were confiscated.

Another batch of shabu sachets and paraphernalia were separately seized from the respective residences of Dabio Bondoc and Fernando Fernando.

Gutierrez also said that the successful operation is a product of series of intensive intelligence and surveillance operations conducted by elements of PDEA RO3 under Director Roybel Sanchez.

Meanwhile, four separate anti-drug operations conducted by PDEA agents in Surigao del Norte; Urdaneta, Pangasinan; and Iligan City resulted in the arrest of six drug suspects.

Topping the drug list in Pangasinan were Ramiro Espelita, Roelh Que, Michael Arana alias Baki, Rebecca Amper, Jayson Calle, and Jubilee Tampos.

In Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental two of the most wanted drug pushers were finally captured following a buy-bust operation here on November 30.

The suspects were Mario Louie Bongabong alias Ingig, 43, a resident of Purok 5, Talairon, Oroquieta City; and Lyn Banaag alias S-boy, female, 35, of Poblacion 1, Oroquieta City.

Bongabong and Banaag were ranked No. 3 and No. 8, respectively, as the top 10 priority targets in the province of Misamis Occidental. They were arrested by operatives of PDEA Regional Office10 (PDEA RO X), in an entrapment operation at the vicinity of Barangay Poblacion 1, Oroquieta.

Confiscated from the duo were 39 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu and the buy-bust money amounting to P300.

Joint elements of PDEA Albay provincial office and Tabaco police conducted a search and seizure operation along Purok 6, Quinale, Tabaco City, Albay on Nov. 29 that resulted in the arrest of suspects Lito Lopez, 38, unemployed, and Rolly Bonavente, 30, pedicab driver.

A total of 13 shabu sachets and cash amounting to P4,970 in various denominations were recovered from the suspects.

Bongabong and Banaag are presently detained at the Oroquieta City Police Station, while Lopez and Bonavente are under the custody of Tabaco police. The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In General Santos City, PDEA operatives nabbed Fidel Castro, 38 and Abdul Alumidin, 58. They were arrested in two entrapment operations on November 29.

Castro, a butcher, of Sitio Toning II, Barangay Lagao, General Santos City, and his cohort, identified as Danilo Tobis alias Bobong, 50, an alleged member of Bangsamoro Republic Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), were caught selling one transparent sachet containing shabu to a poseur-buyer.

The two were arrested by anti-narcotics agents of PDEA Regional Office 12 (PDEA RO12) along Acharon Boulevard, Silway, Barangay Dad West, General Santos City. Castro is listed as one of the primary targets of the law enforcers.

Recovered from the suspects were two units of mobile phone, one knife, one unit of Honda Wave 100 motorcycle with plate no. 2917 MU and P500 marked bill used in the buy-bust operation.

On the other hand, Alimudin, a resident of Simsiman, Pigcawayan, North Cotabato, was nabbed by elements of PDEA RO12 at Lot 3, Block 04, MC Village, Fatima, General Santos City. Confiscated from him were two pieces of transparent sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money used during the operation.

Likewise, three pushers were held for selling 20 bricks of marijuana dried leaves in a buy-bust operation at Sitio Kavuluan, Liwan Sur, Enrile, Cagayan. Arrested were Jun Jun Gumangan, 38; Maximo Madamba, 57; and Juanito Palangaya, 68.

Recovered from them were 20 marijuana bricks, one unit of RUSI motorcycle without plate number, one farm tractor with trailer and the buy-bust money consisting of P1,000 marked bill and 29 pieces of P1,000 bills of boodle money.

The suspects are all farmers, including Palangaya, a former Barangay Captain and an incumbent Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Santor, Rizal, Cagayan.

On Nov. 29, operatives of PDEA Ilocos Norte, in collaboration with Provincial Anti-illegal Drugs

Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG) and Banna Police, conducted another buy-bust operation in Barangay Tabtabagan, Banna, Ilocos Norte that resulted in the arrest of Mark Anthony Domingo, 24, a delivery boy.

He was caught red-handed selling one shabu sachet in consideration of P1,000 to an undercover PDEA agent.

In another raid, PDEA RO2 agents arrested Jorge Carniyan Jr. alias Jun, 31, farmer and his cohort Jayson Canceran 31, jobless in Barangay Ugad, Tumauini, Isabela. Recovered from the suspects were three transparent plastic sachets of shabu.
