I knocked up this retrofuturistic house concept based on Harry Seildlers, Killara house. It borrows design elements and recontextualises them through an extraneous use of materials with a high-tech slant, pun intended.

Split level 3.5 floor beachside residence, with extensive use of polished concrete, pink reflective glass and polished metals/plastics. Probably look at home in Surfers Paradise, Miami or Fort Lauderdale.

Probably not for everyone.

Here are some additional views of the 2.5 floor version...

LOL its pink reflective glass, there are lights on inside the house to make the windows semi transparent in the rendering.

Think OPT tower, or this...

haha^^

i like futuristic/modern houses but i wouldn't like living in that one lol... first off i don't really like the "polished concrete, metals, and plastics" nor the "pink reflective glass"

If it used more natural looking materials then it would be an A++. Smooth concrete, aluminum, and medium to dark woods with shiney metal accents thrown in would make it for me :)

LOL I'd never build my house with wood! :) I hate wood! The only wood i think I can get into is parquetry flooring and it wouldn't have that either.

It could be easily adapted to feature alternative materials like woods and more subtle materials but this house is designed up primarily for what I'd have.

Granted smooth concrete, woods and veneered sections, clear semi reflective glass might look more acceptable but it wouldn't have the same tacky decadence or impact.
