huit February 18th, 2007, 05:17 PM ^ Have you never been to Riyadh? They have at least two branches in Riyadh. One is on King AbdulAziz Street - do try their Shawarmas and layered fruit cocktail.
Agreed - Chilis, Applebees etc. are kinda expensive compared (and over-rated) compared to hundreds of other foot outlets available.
HiJazzey February 18th, 2007, 09:59 PM Good fast food in Jeddah:
for mana2eesh, I recommend: al-Man2ousha on Sari street.
They're fantastic. IMO the best Mana2eesh you can get anywhere.
Shawerma etc..: Jo7a on Hera2.
I love their Shawerma's. Their trick is putting a bit Tahina in the chicken Shawerma. umm umm. The rest of their food is also really good.
Mutabbag: Garmoushi on 70 st.
The original and best. Enough said.
Falafel: filipino market, Khaldiya.
I don't know the name of this place, but it is in the corner of the filipino market. They do Falafel and only falafel.

i was if I knew about reservition on nas airline:mad:
gohorns February 19th, 2007, 01:22 AM Funny how Chilis and Applebee's are the expensive and classy restaurants in the middle east. In the US, they aren't exactly classy or expensive. They're like....those places where old(er) people go...and sometimes people with families who are...lower middle-class.
They only seem expensive there because the other food places are soo cheap. It's amazing how you can get a good meal (Al-Baik - which I dearly love and miss) for ~$2.5 and shawarmas (which to me are only authentic if it's made by an unshaven Lebanese guy with a white shirt) for a dollar or so. You guys have no idea how fortunate you are to have all that around you. sigh :(
I have to spend around $8-10 for lunch even if I go to the cheaper places. The real classy places here (and when people want to go to expensive classy places here they don't go to a big hotel, it is usually a glamorous little Italian restaurant or a nice steak place) and it costs $40-70 a person. :bash:
YeMeNi_guy February 20th, 2007, 12:42 AM my favorate restraaunts are chilis, applebees, casper & gambinis, olive garden, tgi fridays, and planet hollywood

LeB.Fr December 14th, 2007, 03:35 PM One of the best restaurants in KSA is Aroma Café-Jeddah (it's a restaurant not a café as its name says). Too bad there isn't one in Riyadh...
huit February 10th, 2008, 09:16 PM T.J.I Friday's is coming to Riyadh... the first branch will open soon on Takhasusi Street, next to Euromarche. Its boards are already up and they're working on the interior as of now.

The Pharaoh January 24th, 2009, 07:53 AM Jeddah:
- Usaka for Oriental food (Best Sushi after the close-down of ZeeNoodle :()
- UNO Chicago's Grill: Despite what people say, their food and service are good!
- China Golden Gate: As the name, Best Chinese food I've found in Jeddah.
- Al Baik Of course, THE ONE AND ONLY!!! :D
- Joe's Diner: They make good burgers but dining-in is a pain in the a**. Pretty ironic when you consider the name.
Khobar:
- Bikki for Indian and Pakistani food. Still haven't found a decent substitute in Jeddah. :(
- Al Naoorah: They have one of the best pastries there.
- Zaki: Pretty much like Kudu but, somehow, better.
I don't think there's a need for directions to each restaurant of the above. However, if anybody wants directions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)
Saudi guy January 24th, 2009, 08:16 AM - Bikki for Indian and Pakistani food. Still haven't found a decent substitute in Jeddah. :(
are you serious?have you ever try sharizan restaurant for Indian food at al andalous road behind baskin robins? only negative point the price is actually a little expensive but it deserve it.
The Pharaoh January 25th, 2009, 07:48 AM Trust me, SG! Once you try Bikki, no Indian Restaurant will stand up to the standards anymore. Besides, Shezan's food was never spicy. I mean, how do you consider yourself running an Indian restaurant if the food you make isn't spicy? OK! The food is usually well done but half the taste of Indian food is in the hot spices.
Saudi guy January 25th, 2009, 08:27 AM ^^just tell them you want it spicy in Indian standard, anyway where bikki in khobar?
The Pharaoh January 25th, 2009, 12:06 PM Suwaiket area to the west of Samiramis. I don't remember the name of the street. It's kind of a small restaurant and not really an apparent one but you can ask any KFUPM student and you'll get the accurate directions in no time. You'd be surprised by how dependent is the restaurant upon KFUPM students.
<<< Used to go there 2-3 times a month when was enrolled in KFUPM!! :D

I like Herfy........
ProudArabian February 5th, 2010, 11:42 PM guys how is herfey now? i haven't had that in 10 years, last time i had it was in 1999, i still remember their huge burger which made Mcdonald and burger king look like baby burgers, do they still sell that? or was that a 90's thing?
Ahmad Rashid Ahmad February 6th, 2010, 06:51 AM ^^yup, thats the Jumbo burger of Herfy.........
Herfy is doing very well in Riyadh.........
flares July 6th, 2010, 08:30 AM On my last trip to Riyadh I saw an amazing concept restaurant as I was heading up Salahaddin at the junction of King Abdullah Road.
It appeared to be an immense 'Spit Roast' joint. Loads of carcasses being spit roasted in a row. Anyone know what it is called? It had a Spanish type name I think.
Definately going for a look-see-eat on my next visit.
carbonated.brainiac July 6th, 2010, 10:20 AM yes... its name is CORBITO... i also eyed it when i was leaving riyadh on final day..
the place juzz looked so awesome... n mymouth started to water..
huit July 6th, 2010, 12:07 PM ^ What is the exact location of Corbito?
flares July 6th, 2010, 01:10 PM ^ What is the exact location of Corbito?
It is on the right hand side as you head (north?) up Salahaddin towards the junction with King Abdullah.
Close to Sahara Mall which is on the North West corner of the junction.
Lots of roadworks in the vacinity at present so it's all u-turns followed by u-turns.
carbonated.brainiac July 6th, 2010, 03:01 PM ^^ dude... there is a chloting outlet CITY-MAX on kingabdulaziz road... its just beside it... or u can say opposite of salauddin mosque..!!!
ProudArabian July 9th, 2010, 02:32 AM ^ salauddin mosque was so near my house when i use to live in Riyadh, i use to go to that mosque every friday, i use to live just behind the Fall-tamimi safeway shopping center.
There was another small Turkish resturant in the that area, forgot the name, but it was amazing! That whole area had amazing resturants even 10-15 years back, now it must have so many more new ones.
Saudi guy December 23rd, 2010, 06:03 PM "Mama Norah" Riyadh's best restaurant (that what I heard), I can't believe this with all that popularity it has I Still can't find a single good picture for their food :?

jh1 December 25th, 2010, 10:50 PM Mama Norah is great !
flares May 24th, 2011, 07:11 PM Haven't tried Mama Noura yet but I know where it is now.
Had my first ever Cabrito (see earlier posts) tonight. Just a half roast chicken which was fine with rice with chilli in. Rice was too greasy but the chillis were good.
They also sell roast goat. Trad Saudi/arab food I guess. I had something similar when I visited this farm outside Riyadh last month. The goat slow cooked underground. Not a big fan of roast goat. Nowhere near as tasty as roast pig...oops sorry ;-)
