Al Capone February 17th, 2007, 08:08 PM In the city of Tijuana, the largest port of entry in the world, a project is being built that can change the face of Mexico. New City is 7 tower, 25 floor condominium project that is as close to the international border as you can get. You can see the growing San Diego skyline from the top floors.

Alej February 17th, 2007, 08:15 PM I think it is a very good project, but it is not the most important of Mexico. C´mon, are you kidding? I think this thread just would make the world to believe that there are no good projects in México.
P.D. Sorry for the worst english in SCC hehehe
Al Capone February 17th, 2007, 08:22 PM I´m not talking about the biggest or most impressive so stop acting like a peasant and pay attention.
1984 D.F. February 17th, 2007, 08:54 PM Is not the most important, some projects are more impressive.
Rock Point, Puerto Vallarta or Cancún, have projects more important.

I never talked about bigger projects, i just said "more important". I do not act like a peasant, im just giving my opinion, and you should respect it "dont act like a peasant". I like the project, is just that you are taking it to another level of delirious, of course is important but there are at least five porjects more important than this.

Gendo February 21st, 2007, 04:51 AM How is anything in Tijuana capable of being the most important project in Mexico? Face it, Tijuana is a suburb of a major American City, and that is all Tijuana will ever be. You have no harbor, no half decent place to even build an artificial harbor for a port. Ensenada has more potential. Its also kind of funny how you describe this project as being so close to the border. Kind of like it just aspires to be on American soil.
Now, that aside...
The buildings are interesting. I like the fact that they are not clones of the same plan, but do share a style and choice of facade materials. It is a nice addition to Tijuana's skyline, despite the fact the skyline is spread out.
Al Capone February 21st, 2007, 06:30 AM first of all, Ensenada is 40 minutes away from the border... so is Del Mar... is del mar part of SD? yes.. next It was a suburb of SD until it joined with Tecate and ensenada, now it has a whole different potential.
Again, its not the most impressive project but that doesnt mean that its not the most important... 7 towers are more than TJ has. all I am saying is watch what comes from this, because contrary to public opinion there is a lot of money in Mexico and a lot of money in Tijuana and the culture in TJ is actually pretty cool.
So what if it is a "copy" of southern cali architecture... its in so cal... what did you want some dubai shit?
