From SSP:

Don't know if this was posted or not, but I heard from the source's mouth that CIM is looking for someone to acquire their iHope parcel. Their objective is to just pass along the project to another developer (with probably deeper pockets?). IF they do not find someone to buy it from them, they plan on just building a parking structure with possible retail on the ground floor facing Hope St.

^^ that actually sounds more like the parking next to iHope.

from the CIM website:

Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, 830 S. Flower is a six-story historic structure being redeveloped and repositioned for retail and parking in the busy South Village residential and commercial district. Contiguous to CIM Group’s Gas Company Lofts and adjacent to CIM Group’s Market Lofts, the structure provides 602 parking spaces on its upper floors and 18,785 sq. ft. of retail amenities at street level. Other CIM properties in the area include 8th & Hope, 9th & Hope, 801 S. Grand Avenue, and Flower Parking. Other nearby attractions include STAPLES Center and the L.A. Live entertainment campus.

^^makes sense to me, 1st picture is the structure on Flower across from 717 Flower and between the new Market Lofts and Gas Co. Lofts buildings whose backside was always shown in k3d's photos when he lived @ 801 Grand. The 2nd picture is a new extension of that building which also would contain parking and would come out to Hope Street. Ihope would be built north of that on the remaining portion of that parcel.

^ LosAngelesBeauty is saying that CIM Group is looking to sell the plans for the actual iHope proposal to another developer. If they don't find a buyer, they'll build another parking structure.

yea I understand that part. I guess that new extension to Hope will be solely for residents of IHope. I thought it was for Market Lofts. However, if I really wanted a building to get built it would definitely be Park Tower. and hopefully a developer could snatch up the Gansevoort next door. this block would be one of the most idealist in all of Downtown LA!

This tower is back. In late December, permits were filed for this tower.

This makes four towers starting this year in downtown. If it looks like a boom, and sounds like a boom...

Four? So it would be this one, the Marriott, the Grand, and the Courthouse right?

Four? So it would be this one, the Marriott, the Grand, and the Courthouse right? I wasn't even counting the courthouse. I was referring to the 19 story apartment tower that is starting later this year, the tower next to The Broad.

What is it called?

It doesn't have a name. Not officially. But it looks like this:

Ah...I was walking next to the broad observing the construction and this is the site for the building you're talking about Illithid Dude.

So they are going to eliminate that road? It's not in the picture you provided.

Sort of. That is the construction for the parking deck and museum. The actual tower won't start until around September.
