I've always wanted to visit Niagara Falls, one of America's and Canada's "shared" treasures. I didn't even imagine Niagara Falls city even having a skyline other than that observation tower, so I'm pretty impressed. The buildings are interesting to look at, are most hotels though? Amazing natural setting next to the falls. 8/10

Rating the skyline, this is a bit crap. 5/10

I refuse to give it extra points for being by niagara falls...

1.
Don't tell me to shut up. I know you were talking about people who vote low and then run off, i hate them too btw, but you seemed to be annoyed that their votes were too low, rather than their cowardice...which brings me to point 2...
2.
This city looks no where near the city you seem to believe it is. "Retard" is the word i would use for the architects who designed what look like poor, lifeless buildings. This is less tacky than Las Vegas, but don't get too ahead of yourself.

And with the landscapa around it,it looks even better.

I visited Niagara Falls, Canada myself in October 2002 and was really impressed. Especially the view from the Skylon Tower is great.

7/10...because for a city with only 77,000 it really has an impressive skyline + of course the Niagara Falls itself.

Sorry folks, I had to give it a 4.5 or 4. Niagra Falls is known for its falls, not the skyline and these pics just confirm that. Some interesting buildings and towers for a small town though.

Ah Niagra Falls the fture Las Vegas of Canada -_-.....It makes me gag....Indeed it is a fun city to be in but it absolutly ruins everything about Niagra falls...especialy that stupid cup bme fuilding AHH! i just want to take a giant sciccors and make the cup fall down of that little stick....Also the buildings are all hotels mosty...

Something funny about this city if you ever go there, is the number of "Haunted Houses" that are sprawled about everywhere (alien houses, ghosts, vampires...) Me and my cousin drove aroudn teh city and counted 11 of them O_o...all equally small and stupid

canada_habs2004
January 29th, 2005, 09:12 PM
Niagara Falls deserves much more than a 5/10. I live one the other side of the Niagara Region, the falls are like a 45 minute drive away, but there is this one spot on my road where you can actually see the skyline, especially at night, and it is really quite enormous, when I'm so far far away, and the city is such a small population.

I'll try to get a picture sometime, unfortanelty I only have 2x zoom on my camera

7 / 10.

Although I haven't been to the city itself yet, I'd say that's not too bad for a city of what? 77 000 people?

10/10 for me, because of the skyline for a city of its size, 80,000, not to mention probably the FUNNEST city in all of Ontario or even Canada, possibly. But I still think nearby Buffalo's and Hamilton's both have more character. :)

True, I'd rather have a decaying city full of smokestacks and industry with a horrible view of the falls over a thriving tourist hot spot full of nitelife, lots of tourists, a beatiful skyline and many attractions.

Niagara Falls is now a city, and probably the funniest cities ever to be successful. I would give this city a good cheeze, without the molding on it. This is a very tasteful piece of cake with nice icing all over, and this city is one of them. Clifton Hill is the main attraction, more so than the falls itself, with it being so attractive at nights that draws the people in. Though, there is a lot of people there, not a lot of people from Toronto though. With it's low qualities over on the American side, Niagara Falls takes the top of being the most unique places in North America, probably after Las Vegas. If there were more buildings, then this city would be in the top of my contract. 9/10.

Amazing, i love the skyline. Very impressive for a city of 80,000 people (roughly 400,000 in the metro "St.Catherines-Niagara")

It has one 229m tower on the way, another 172m tower and a 166m tower with a 109m tower under construction now!

I rated it a 7.
I live here, and I see those towers everyday. It's sort of a fake skyline. It's a thin wall of hotels surrounding the falls. If you see it from a side angle, it looks like only 2 or 3 towers.

The newest tower, the Fallsview Hilton expansion, was set for 58 stories but I've heard from construction crew that they decided to stop at 52. It's a tall imposing building, but they made it match the old tower, which has a brutal turn of the 90's look to it. 52 stories of pale beige stucco with small square windows, such a waste.

These are just some random shots off flickr, i don't have any good ones of my own. I'll have to take some come spring time.

A magnificent view in one of the rooms of a hotel and dining at the top of Skylon tower is just lovely. 6/10 for the skyline, falls 10/10.

For it's population, 10/10.

But for the skyline itself, 6/10.

The city is a million times better than its sister city on the other side. The skyline is not that good imo and doesn't complement the unparalleled natural beauty of Niagara Falls. It's quite sad actually. But I understand that the place is quite touristy hence all the casinos and Clifton Hill. But I hope they keep the tackiness to a minimum. Anyways, the SkyWheel is amazing, especially at night.

There are proposals for about 4 buildings over 200m in Niagara Falls, 2 at the foot of the bridge and the other 2 near Skylon. Up to another 3 buildings over 150m might be in the works. The skyline could get dramatically bigger within the next 5 years.
