The "cool" fences by now are there only in the area next to the end of Corso Como. All the other Fences of the città della moda complex are just temporary, I think.
Anyway, when i go there, I'll take a a shot :)

Regoine lombardia fences, instead, are a mix of previous walls, previous advertising fences and new fences with renders of the construction.

During this week Milan gave hospitality to the members of the board of the BIE, in order to show the projects for the Expo 2015.

For 3 days Milan was enlightened by some special light-effects in the sites where all the skyscrapers will rise...

Nope. Not yet, at least. They will decide the next year. This week they presented to the BIE all the projects involving the city for the Expo. ^^

BTW, the construction speed will increase dramatically from now till the next spring.

Workers will be 850, instead of the actual 150 and the working hours will be 24, so non-stop works till the end of the structure (2009).

During the last week the italian president (Napolitano) visited the worksite and there was a little ceremony with the presentation of the project by the architect Cobb.

Oh God... this is absolutely beautiful. I have never been in Milan but I think that is a very european city in it's architecture and culture, maybe this building will destroy that image of the arts and culture in Milan.

Don't worry, the area where is going to be built actually suckS.

This project together with Porta Nuova ( the other mega-project in this area) will give to Milan a new modern district and a cool skyline. :yes:

The building have a large capacity and... I'm thinking about the the impact of the hundreds new workers in the neighborhood... Is the global capacity of the transport system sufficient? How about the metro conexion? tram perhaps?

there's this workshop by Peter Bosselmann (a professor from the US who is an expert in urban simulation... he was my former professor) in Politecnico di Milano about these projects... they are building a model of the whole garibaldi area in order to see the impacts of these new developments... i know a couple of people who are working on it.. and i've seen it and it looks interesting to see all the projects laid out... its not yet done though...

Anyway the area is now served by 3 metro station (2 lines) onother under construction and 2 railway stations.

Hi :) In the area there is the Metro2, the Metro3 is not far, the S lines and the Metro5 will also reach Garibaldi-Repubblica, furthermore there are several buses and trams connections

This name was given by the Nimbys who opposed to the project; actually it was not at all a wood, at contrary it was an abandoned and unsafe place

We have to mantion the fact that the cladding we see in these pics is the "external skin" of a double layer facade.
The actual claddind will consist in two different glass facades separated by a ventilated space. This solution will decrease a lot winter heating and summer cooling expenses.
Another important choice is the presence of a large area of photovoltaic pannels in the south oriented facades.

i like this building a lot. especialy the lower part.:cheers:

What a wavy design. The facility is quite massive, interesting.

Indeed, the lower buildings are massive, but the curvy lines and the glass façades turn it into an interesting structure.

But the most interesting feature is the huge glass-covered roof at the top of a square born through the spires of the lower buildings...can't wait to see it! :nuts:

The auditorium looks great...the residential buildings are so close to the tower &to the office buildings...from the green building, it seems to be maybe only around 20m to the tower...
The inhabitants of the green building can now probably claim to be the people that live closest to a highrise in Europe, maybe even the world! (I'm sure they aren't too happy about the construction noise though ;) )
