TAKE ACTION! VOTE!

Vote? Dharavi produces 1/6th of India's GDP. Its a driver of India's growth. You can't get rid of it, so get used to it. It might be ugly, but Mumbai can't function without it.

Dharavi exports goods around the world.[12] The total turnover is estimated to be between 500 million US dollars[13] and over 650 million US dollars per year.[6]

You mean middle right or left of the towers in the center? Anyway, why'd they shrink it?

meant that as as joke :) ..when we moved in, the 17 story building was the tallest in that area ...now its dwarfed by all the other ones around it. Tons of development in the area. Have been waiting to see pictures of it. Maybe if I can get my brother to click some pictures, I could post some myself.

Apart from the imperial towers the rest of the buildings look very cheap. Just look at that tall white building. Far from enhancing the skyline they are eyesore. It is better to have no skyline than these huge ugly things.

I have comparing the banner to the ones they had for Hong Kong and I definitely think, the skyline in the banner is looking better than any other city in the world. Give it a few more years, with some more buildings to come for construction, this is going to get just better.

I gonna have to disagree with you, Jihadis don't need Google Street View or any other Google thing to attack us. They will certainly not change their plans just because Google doesn't have the street view of the city.

Exactly!

They used pocket guides and maps to the city which is available everywhere.

Great photos though, some of the best in quality.

My only major gripe is that I think Marine Drive needs palm trees along its entire strech as it would look magnificent and deserving of a promanade such as this.

These are not street views. Instead these are 360 Degree pics of some selected areas. In case you haven’t noticed, they create street view while driving on the street not at the side walk as you can see in Haji Ali and Oberoi Hotel’s pictures.

the annexe to the stadium (with the new squash courts, best in bombay) is operational

was thinking the nano might replace the rickshaw and the taxi. Nano is the definition of a city car.

Mumbai is the best city in Inda guys! i don't mean to offend you all in this forum but, i think cityscapes of Delhi look better coz they are open and panoramic. the buildings and skyline are a kind of "USP" of mumbai. but look at makati skyline man, will mumbai be ever able to match it!! that "USP" of skyline that mumbai boasts of looks like nothing to me. at least delhi can be smug about wider roads and open spaces ans flyovers and metro!!!

Boss those bridges (like the Marine Drive and some at Charni Road stations) have been home to advertisements for a long time. Actually, if anyone noticed it. We complain about Skywalks, right?

But there is a bridge on the east side of Charni road station. When you go from Mangalwadi and take the bridge, there's actually a long bridge taking you to the station. Now that actually is a skywalk. I have been using it since kid and it serves a great purpose as well. The other thing I like about it is that the Charni road station has fences around and it acts as a fortification. But there are still miscreants who like to break the rules and remove a fence or two to use the short cut to the station.

I am being a hypocrite right now, but I don't want anymore of those MMRDA skywalks. They are fugly. Honestly.

yea that is B.E.S.T's way of phasing out / replacing old buses. I think we will hopefully get some modern buses and not some rehashed junk buses by march

I think the bmc have bought some plants or palm trees similar to what you have in the mumbai airport .they will be planting them all along the marine drive and later all over mumbai probably areas like versova juhu area .Only problem who is gonna look after them?
