The Philippine American Life Insurance Building is conceived and designed as a world-class intelligent office building, whose architectural elements were generated by the cultural and climatic context of The Philippines and Manila's position in a global economy. The project is located near the intersection of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas in the Makati district of Manila. The site, directly across from the Ayala Triangle, offers a superb opportunity to take advantage of views of Metro Manila. The PhilAm Life building incorporates 60,000 m2 of prime leasable office space, an exclusive private club facility, two major banking halls and required support services.

- A 48-storey office building using fully unitized curtainwall of glass, aluminium panel and granite.
- The tower proper incorporated into the system horizontal sunscreens, vertical fins, light bullnoses, crown lighting and balcony trellises.
- Shallow and deep-set cladding was used extensively on the building envelope.
- The entrance facades employed mirror stainless steel shopfronts, capped with functional sculpted canopies in hairline finish.

^^ To my knowledge, it is also the most financially successful among the recent major office towers in Makati City built since the late 1990s. Despite the Asian crisis and the Erap years, the building has been 100% fully leased (based on pre-Asian crisis lease rates) and rarely, if ever, have any vacancies.

that's right. one of the very few makati skyscrapers with clear floor to ceiling windows making it look like flooded with light at night.

yes right Ryan. One of our coforumers (kalabaw) works with PCC. Time Magazine also has its office there. And yeah, JP Morgan Chase. One of my gurl friends who's into setting up of offices said they had a contract with JP to put up an office there at JP. Can't recall how many floors were taken up. Guess it's 3. If you try to observe this skyscraper - to all EDSA commuters, you will agree with Efren. It's the most occupied tower in Makati. RCBC and PB Com had catched up just recently.

Open sa public yung cafeteria sa 9/F, with al fresco dining and view deck, just atop the tower's podium. (you can see in the photos)

For me, this is the most beautiful tower in the Phil. Yes, name it: JP Morgan, Bank of America, BMW, GM, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, RiskMetrics, Sun Microsystems, Mysis, Navitaire, Nokia, and many more. But the real beauty of it cannot be seen only from outside... Plus nice but affordable food in the cozy open deck... And of course, pretty and smart people.

smart people? i'd agree with that. and perhaps good looking. :D hmm...one of my friend's brother works up there in an office overlooking the helipad. do you think al fresco dining at the 9/F is a must try experience? I think Sumitomo is also one of Philam's tenants.

i didn't know GM left Citibank Tower already. they used to occupy one of the topmost floors of the building.

OT: Some officemates transferred to MYSIS.

9th floor is not a must try experience. its just an ordinary caffeteria.

Our building is nice but needs improvement with the elevators.. Sobrang tagal parati.. and it seems not all elevators are working.. 9th floor needs more choices.. Sa Robinsons Summit mas maganda ang choices..

@crispypata -- so you're also working in philam? which company? miss ko na ang tower club... hahaha! as if nakapasok na ako. actually, miss ko ng makasabay ng mga alta sociedad. yung set ng lifts kasi ng tower club is the same as ours.

haha...ang magoofficemates at buildingmates nagkita kita sa SSC. try nga namin minsan ang cafeteria niyo diyan sa Philam. ang downside ng Summit - elevators are a bit slow. maybe because they were also intended to be used in residential condo, which the tower is planned to be.
