Many thanks, Blue Milkyway. Baria has changed so much that I lost my way the last time I was there. A four-lane street replaced a small dirt road that runs through what used to be my family's farm. Man, I wish we still have that farm.

there's one thing about vungtau i'm not sure if anyone notices, is the small French section near front beach. That part of the city reminded me so much of good old district 3 in saigon in the early 80s when I was growing up.

tall tall trees line the quiet streets with french villas along the sides. Saigon still has that in district 3......but too much tall tube houses now replacing the old french villas.....and the streets are so crowded.
the first time i came back to vung tau i walked around the French area, it felt so nice, so quiet, low low 2-3 storeys buildings, almost like i'm back to good old saigon in the french colonial time a hundred year ago.
school children in their uniforms lined up to enter the school, every now and then only 1 or 2 scooters or cars passing on the streets.......you could practically walk in the street. I hope they expand saigon so they can return district 3 back to the old days.

the heat was very strong, but in the french section under those big big trees you just want to hang a hammock somewhere and sleep, so peaceful and romantic.
but at night it's dead......i still love the saigon nightlife

Vung Tau hasn't got any supermarket now I hope when VT Seaview and Hodeco Plaza complete Vung Tau will have a new face

Yes yes but in Vung Tau now hasn't got so much French's villa than before because they were destroyed for building new houses, for ex look at PetroVietNam Towers ,the foundation of it used to have 2 villas but people had removed it for building a highrise building

funny story, the last time my family and i went to a karaoke party in ^ palace hotel, vung tau after we attended a traditional wedding. i called for reservation for 20 special guests and they had the room filled with a dozen hookers mistaking i was there for hoochies. it was totally embrassing when my family and i walked into the room finding there were half naked girls lunging toward us.

Vung Tau Seaview is the highest building in Vung Tau (21 storeys ) being built and will be completed in 2007. Take a look at this VT Seaview on the right and Vung Tau Trade Center area on the left

WOW Vung Tau is so developed. Haven't been there for like 10 years (since I was a little kid).

I compared 2 pictures of Vung Tau "front beach" from above
and I just discovered something interesting.

the large park running along the beach is reclaimed land.
During the early 90s, they had no park at all and the street was very narrow.
No wonder the last time I'm back I couldn't believe how big the park was, I thought they had to relocate people.

same thing with CatBa-Halong city
before 2000 the waterfront street was only 2 lanes and had no park.
now they have 6 lanes street, and huge park running along the waterfront.

I watched that game show "Amazing race" last week, they came to Halong city, so beautiful, even the black girl said the scenic "is like in the travel magazine"

no it's not reclaimed land, it's result of relocation, i was there summer 2005 while the brick houses were being demolished with red brick lying all around.

Vung Tau front beach park is really give a new face for Vung Tau, it's the first park here and citizen feel very delighted ( me too ) this park is the place that everybody can relax everyday and now Vung Tau's looking forward to cable car system here , maybe this event can attract many tourists go to VT for their trip :)

skidlin which city are you talking about? I'm very positive both cities expanded their waterfront by reclaimed land. I've compared the 2 and see all the same buildings along the waterfronts are still there.

maybe in Halong they have many parts to the waterfront?

The last picture shows where my house used to be before they flat eveything and put up new townhouses. So, my childhood home is no longer exist, but, fortunately, I had some pictures of it before it got bulldozed.

Well, Baria is only one of my hometowns, like Bang said.:) , just kidding. Saigon is my hometown, and Baria is my childhood town.

I'm very worry about my parents living in Vung Tau now , Vung Tau citizens are facing to the most violent storm in 10 years recently , tonight when I saw the news in VTV , I'm very depressed with the city of tourism as Vung Tau has destroyed very much from the storm , many trees in street were pulled down , many houses were collapsed, many electric wires were ruined :(
the sight of city is very terrible......

Milkyway, How are you coping with the storm? How is Saigon and VungTau?

Uhm I had contacted with my parents this morning , what a luck both of them are alright , and it's really fortunately that behind my house there is a big mango trees , it had protect my house from the storm , while almost neighbours roof were blown away , my house's still in good condition :) but unfortunately that tree had been pulled down , surely that I will take photo of it when I come back Vung Tau :(

Yeah , I was very surprised at many changes in Vung Tau after " trận cuồng phong Durian " :) , although Vung Tau must face to many difficulties in recovering city from that disaster but I think it'll become more beautiful day by day ^_^ , and actually I was very dissapointed when I saw the mess at the site of Bach Dinh , I just went to there last summer,the air of that place was very fresh due to its huge forest at that time , the area was full of trees , many trees surround it but now it's only the big mess and Vung Tau must have many time for recovering it :(

Vũng Tàu cũng nhiều dự án lắm nhưng hầu hết đều u/c hồi trước đi hội chợ Fesival Biển thấy quá trời dự án luôn :)

milky if ya want your vungtau city to grow, write a letter to chu tit nao do.......and tell him.......build a sea crossing bridge connecting Vung Tau to Saigon.
the 2 cities are very close by sea distance..... I just checked the map...the coast is crested like a horseshoe, between the 2 cities, therefore 2 cities meet eye to eye by the sea.

if you climb up Big Mountain in Vung Tau , you can see Can Gio district in SG , SG and VT is really close to each other through the distance of sea and river , mà này xây cầu bắc từ VT đến SG e hơi khó , xây xong chắc được ghi trong sách kỉ lục Guinesss cầu vượt biển dài nhất TG quá , cái này nằm mơ cũng ko thấy quá :bash:

mà thấy cũng là người ta xây building dọc theo mấy thành phố ven biển mà sao VN cứ đi vô đất liền mà xây nhỉ , SG nằm gần bờ sông view đâu có đẹp , còn mấy bác VT ở đây thì bãi biển xây nhà tà tà từ 7 đến 11 tầng là nhiều , còn chính giữa thành phố thì tương mấy cái apartmnet to tướng hoành tráng lắm , nhưng mà thấy cũng đẹp mang đúng nghĩa từ Center và đặc biệt ko có electric wire :D , cả VT mới thấy có chỗ này " chặt chẽ trong quản lý và có đồng bộ trong quy hoạch " ^_^

Can Gio land is naturally not very stable for structures...just wait till vn has enuf money...Saigon will have a landscape like hong kong by the sea

saigòn không nằm gần biển đẹp nên không bao giờ bị biển đánh cho phù mỏ, chỉ có mưa thì phải đóng xuồng chèo qua chèo lại .......thơ mông và lãng mênh nữa.
nhưng vũng tàu chỉ đẹp buổi sáng sớm 5-10g sáng thôi, sau 10giờ thì không muốn ra vunt tàu. buổi tối Vũng tàu buồn , ra ngoài biển còn thấy buồn hơn, và tối hơn, lúc đó chỉ muốn bỏ về saigòn liền.

nhưng buổi sáng ta ngồi ở công viên bãi trước Vũng Tàu nhìn vể bờ biển xa xa có những cánh chim hải Âu bay qua bay lại, gió thổi nhẹ nhẹ, mát thiệt mát không có nóng kinh khủng như buổi trưa.

có những con tàu màu xanh đánh cá đi qua đi lại.....rồi mấy liền anh, liền chị vũng tàu mặc đồ sport sexy chạy qua chay lại tập thể dục, nhìn cũng lãng mệnh giống Miami beach

The skyline of Front beach looks better than Back beach , doesn't it ??? just because Front beach has more trees along the coast than Back beach does :) but Back beach is the best place for swimming :) . Vung Tau citizens always go to Front beach every afternoon for relaxing and enjoys themself with the wind from sea ( me too :D ) and the pavement of Front beach is covered with "đá hoa cương" ( công nhận mấy bác VT chơi nổi vụ này quá , nhà nhiều người còn ko dám lát nền kiểu đó mà vỉa hè ven đường dám lát :bash: nhưng mà dù sao tiền vô đây cũng đỡ hơn là vô túi mấy bác quan chức gì gì đó :D cũng nhờ đó mà VT đẹp hơn ^_^ )

Mấy bữa nay về VT toàn đi chơi nhảy hip hop với đám bạn nên ko có thời gian đi chụp hình VT mấy bác thông củm :D , sáng nay cao hứng bắc thang leo lên mái nhà mình chụp hình chơi mới mấy bác xem wa :cheers:

i forsee in the future that VT will be like Newport Bech in Cali where the high class come to live and commute to saigon for work...but there needs to be some work done before that...develop an expansive exressway system...and build a marina for yatches and boats in the VT harbor.

Ngày mai 25/2, tại Chí Linh - Cửa Lấp, phường 10, TP Vũng Tàu sẽ diễn ra lễ khởi công Khu du lịch 4 sao quốc tế Eden Thanhbinh. Đây là khu du lịch được xây dựng theo tiêu chuẩn 4 sao quốc tế đầu tiên tại TP này.

Công trình này do Công ty TNHH Tư vấn - Dịch vụ - Thương mại Thanh Bình phối hợp với Công ty Cổ phần Eden tổ chức. Chịu trách nhiệm tư vấn thiết kế và giám sát dự án là Công ty kiến trúc Creatis (Pháp); Công ty BMC là đơn vị thi công.



Quy mô diện tích của dự án Khu biệt thự - Du lịch cao cấp Thanh Bình rộng hơn 25ha, được chia thành nhiều khu chức năng gồm: Công viên Cửa Lấp, biệt thự sinh thái hỗn hợp, biệt thự đặc biệt, khu thể dục thể thao, khu spa dịch vụ nghỉ dưỡng, khu resort, khu khách sạn cao cấp, khu thương mại và các công trình thể thao…



Cụ thể, dự án có tất cả 3 khách sạn cao 11 tầng đạt tiêu chuẩn 4 sao, 1 khu resort biển tiêu chuẩn 4 sao, gần 200 căn biệt thự sinh thái và các công trình công cộng có khả năng phục vụ từ 500-700 người. Tổng kinh phí đầu tư dự án khoảng 450 tỷ đồng.



Thời gian thực hiện dự án trong vòng 5 năm, từ 2006 đến 2010. Dự án Eden Thanhbinh Resort khởi công xây dựng ngày 25/2/2007 là một trong các hạng mục chính của dự án Khu biệt thự - Du lịch cao cấp Thanh Bình, có vốn đầu tư 5 triệu USD, bao gồm 81 Bugalows và nhiều dịch vụ vui chơi giải trí đạt tiêu chuẩn phục vụ khách quốc tế, sẽ xây dựng hoàn tất sau 12 tháng và chính thức đi vào hoạt động đầu năm 2008. Trong tương lai, Eden Thanhbinh Resort sẽ được mở rộng, nâng cấp thành resort đạt tiêu chuẩn quốc tế 5 sao.



Chí Linh - Cửa Lấp là nơi được tỉnh Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu quy hoạch để phát triển không gian du lịch sinh thái và đô thị chất lượng cao. Tui hay chụp vào khoảng 9 giờ sáng VT lúc nào cũng yên bình thanh tĩnh như vậy , đó là điều tui nhớ nhất mỗi khi xa VT chứ ở SG thì ...:ohno: có điều tui cũng muốn nói luôn đó là tui lúc nào cũng phải canh cho xe cộ chạy qua hết mới bắt đầu chụp hình bởi vì tui muốn bức hình chỉ có hình của building thui cho nó đẹp ^_^ nhớ lại hồi đi chụp Cantavil ở SG đứng rã cả chân tay gần 10 phút mới chụp được tấm hình >_< là tấm này nè :) ở xa lộ HN mà vắng vẻ thế này cũng hiếm thấy nhỉ :D

Mấy bữa nay cất công đi kiếm khu vực xây Saigon Atlantis và VT Disney Land đỏ cả mắt mà ko thấy đâu hết , có lẽ 2 dự án này lớn quá nên triển khai chậm chăng nhưng Saigon Atlantis có lâu lắm rồi mà ta :)

Theo mấy bác , mấy vụ dầu tràn ven biển Việt Nam dạo gần đây là do đâu thế nhỉ , tui nghe nói là do mỏ dầu ngầm dưới biển nhiều dầu quá nên phun lên mà nó lại nằm ở vị trí nhạy cảm là khu đảo Hải Nam TQ mới khổ chứ , VN mình ko lẽ lại sợ nó hả +_+

Villa Vũng Tàu đẹp quá!

vung tau is very sad...the city is dead at night...only during early dawn that the city is awesome...the beach front is so blue, clean, refreshing, young, alive and active.
they should increase the population in Vung tau to atleast 2millions

The front beach always more active than back beach :) but according to my friends just came back from VT on their vacation to there , all of them said that Back beach in VT look wonderful , more beautiful than it used to be ^_^ , local authorities is going to develop this place very good :)

Bãi sau ở VT buồn sở dĩ là do chưa có công viên thui , với lại đường bờ biển sát quá , ngồi hóng gió ở đó có mà cát bay đầy mặt >_<

Vung Tau chi buon neu dem so voi HCM hay Ha Noi thoi, chu toi di may noi khac nhu Nha Trang, Can Tho, Hue, Da Nang , Da Lat cung buon chet di duoc.Dan so VT ma len toi 2tr thi ko con la VT nua, luc do chac kinh khung lam, hix hix.Vung Tau nhu vay la OK roi chi can them vai khu vui choi la tuyetttttt

Put your camera on a tripod, and then reduce the shutter speed, or use night mode if your camera has one.
