A funny comment on ever-serious architecture, it looks like a child's toy which gives it a charming naïve expression.
I wouldn't really want to see a lot more of this kind of buildings, but as a one-off, it has quality.

Although I can't imagine why anyone would like to have such tower (meaning the owner)......but I believe it has something to do with its corp identity (maybe).

This isn't the architect's fault as I believe this is the result of the client's creativity ( or the lack of it! :D ).

Nevetheless when I was in Bangkok I kept looking for the building and I managed to saw it twice. This building could be an attraction by itself and a landmark!

I remember pointing it to my family on the way to our hotel upon arrival in Bangkok and they were amazed (maybe horrified) by this building. I may give zero for the building itself but instead I've given it an 8 for attracting my atttention.

Seriously....there is only three buildings in Bangkok that I looked out for........first is Baiyoke II....then the Asia Bank HQ (the robot building along Sathorn Rd) and this! :eek:

Cool shot isnt? Seeing it for the first time in my life was quite exciting. Its pretty wide. But seeing the Baiyoke coming in from the airport was heaven for me..did u spot it?

yea......it was exciting for me too and I took like about 7/8 pictures of Baiyoke II eventhough the weather was kinda bad and the sky is getting dark! :D

I'll post a picture of it when I get back home......;)

The pictures later on make it look better. It's still a little silly though.....but the design does give more window space.

Because IMO this is better than an anonymous tower, even if its ugly like this. At least there is something there to amaze me, and that is the general shape of three towers connected at the top to create a huge M.

The idea to make an elephant of it was bad, they should have settled with an M building.

Massive building, and very uniqe. But extremly ugly, and a boring and easy design. The facade is a easy mess, the shape is easy and cheep but a bit funny. 5/10

Well I recognize the name, but I'm not sure I would be able to tell the location of it (before now).

its the tallest tower in Thailand about 310 meters tall I think :)

The picture itself is of low quality...as is the building. However, I find it no worse than the bland block-style buildings of Europe ("commie blocks", as they've come to be known) which are omnipresent. For locking my attention and being light-hearted and somewhat innovative, I rate it a 4.

i give it 7. It's not a building that i think is meant to be taken seriously. It's obviously NOT a masterpiece and wasn't intended to be so.
i like the gigantism of it all though.

Looks quite good from a distance.

While it might seem tacky, I think the M shape structure is a good architectural solution to a 'difficult' site to build upon. Someone have pointed out that it would have looked worse had they built it as three separate towers.
The fact that this building resemble an elephant was purely coincidental, I think. The architect just did a last minute job by adding in elongated boxes the top which represent the trunks of an elephant. So they named it an elephant building. very whimsical.
I give it an 8.

This building is pretty unique (for all the right or wrong reasons ;) ), but elephants aside, it isn't that pretty at all. The windows and basic facade of it just give off a very ugly image of it. It's design looks quite cheap also. The only thing that's really going for it, is the fact that it resembles an elephant. ;) But in terms of everything else, it's not that aesthetically pleasing, but because of its audaciousness, I'll give it a 5/10.

i've heard that the interior is pretty nice though. anyone has pics ?

Actually, in SE Asia a white elephant is a good thing, directly contrasting to the western view of the same subject. Not that it makes the Elephant Tower discussed here look any different but anyway :)

What I hate abot this building is the base. If it didn't have that horrible car garage on the bottom it'd be okay. But they base just sends shivers down my spine.
