This is the South of Market development in Reston Town Center. The site is being developed by Boston Properties and will eventually be two 10 story and one 6 story office buildings with ground level retail. There is 2 levels of underground parking underneath all three buildings. In addition, the dirt site will be 9 levels of parking with ground level retail and offices built on top. Plans for this second phase haven't been published as far as I know. These Pictures were taken on 02.18.07.

There is an additional and better quality rendering on Boston Properties website.

It looks like they have topped out the middle and farthest building but the building closest to my vantage point still has a few floors to go.

Thanks for the pictures. Reston did their homework has executed its main cluster well so far and I hope it just continues to increase it's footprint w/ commercial/retail/residential development and w/ infrastructure.

This is across the toll road from Reston Town Center. I think this is going to be the Westin Hotel. JBG properties owns all the land from the Mercer (the Brick condo building to the right) all the way to Reston Parkway. They are developing the area into a smaller scale Reston Town Center called Reston Heights. There property includes a strip mall type area which is to be razed and replaced with high and midrise buildings. I can't seem to find any renderings of the Westin or any further news of the Reston Heights development.

I snapped these pictures out of my car as I was driving by so sorry for the quality:

Wow, very impressive developments. I wish Baltimore suburb areas did this kind of stuff.

This kind of development comes at the expense of the cbd. I'd rather we have more development downtown like Baltimore.

The day that happens is the day that Maryland Tax Payers/Voters come to their senses and vote against the anti-Growth Old Fashioned Communist Left Wing Extremist Democrats.

Thats fine and Great.

But it is EXTREMELY Ignorant and Selfish to not want the same Upscale Development for Columbia, Glen Burnie, Annapolis(ESPECIALLY), Owings Mills, Townson, and White Marsh.

Why can't Baltimore City and the Baltimore Suburbs share the same wealth of Upscale Development like DC/NOVA Suburbs, Atlanta/Suburban Atlanta, etc.
