Hey guys. Walk with me through this beautiful neighborhood in NYC. Pics taken by me on January 27, 2006. Hope you enjoy the tour! :)

Morningside Heights, Manhattan:

Morningside Heights is the academic quarter of New York City. It stretches irregularly from about 106th Street to about 123rd Street between Morningside Park and Riverside Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. From the top of a 135-foot bluff, it overlooks the Hudson River on one side and Harlem on the other. It is about 20 minutes from midtown Manhattan by subway and the area has the second-lowest crime rate in Manhattan. With apartments on the "Gold Coast" of Riverside Drive routinely selling for over $1,000,000, the Heights is one of the more desirable residential neighborhoods in Manhattan. Several books and films have been written about it or set here. It is currently home to about 35,000 people, and over the years has housed a long list of famous individuals as well as world-renowned institutions.

Great photo's Krull. I love walking around Morningside, it reminds me of South Ken / Chelsea / Knightsbridge area in London. Has a very similar feel and look I think. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the many photographs. Together with the recent ones posted of Brooklyn, we can see that it is a culturally rich and diverse city. NYC is a place I always visit for at least a week every time I go to the USA. I never tire of the place. It has to be one of the greatest cities on earth.

Interesting that one can fly there from Australia's east coast for the same (or even cheaper) price than to go to Los Angeles.

Who else has some photos of this city that are worth posting?

Amazing shots! NYC has so much more history and charm than LA, and these pics prove it. Thanks for sharing

That's the one used in Seinfeld- I think it's at 112 and Broadway.
