View Full Version : Stavanger - Norway. Another tall building for Stavangers skyline. Nimbys hate it
vadmyra March 8th, 2007, 07:11 PM Long story short, alot of old houses has been demolished so a new 39m tall hotel can be buildt in the middle of all the other tall buildings. But the comunist nimbys are angry because of all the old houses was demolished because of a tall building. So now they complain in our local newspaper forum and write crap about how terrible Stavangers skyline look like. Maybe one of the reasons that Stavanger looks N.American is because alot of people emigrated to USA from this area back in the days. Many people here have relatives in USA.

The Stavanger mayor was on the local TV a few weeks ago and said that Demolision of old buildings and building new ones is part of being a city :) .
And the tall building will be built, the old houses are already gone:
