Tuscani01 March 12th, 2007, 12:53 AM One of my favorite projects going on right now. Theres days when I just bus to Yonge & Eglinton to get to school so I can see whats going on there. In a few years it will be quite dense and tall... cant wait!
zerokarma March 12th, 2007, 01:03 AM Good Update
Marcanadian March 12th, 2007, 01:21 AM Nice to see this in the international forums. It will definitely add a lot to the area.
W!CKED March 12th, 2007, 01:23 AM Really nice tower
Mplsuptown March 12th, 2007, 01:57 AM I really like this project.
b13 March 12th, 2007, 02:57 PM I like this project but why does every condo in Toronto have to have a balcony?
Northern Lotus March 12th, 2007, 10:03 PM I like this project but why does every condo in Toronto have to have a balcony?
Building Code.
Balcony is counted as 'recreational space' and every apartment development requires 'x' % of s.f. of recreational space. Gym, swimming pool, meeting rooms, etc. are common in most apartment development in Toronto.
JuanPaulo March 13th, 2007, 03:42 AM I was involved in this project and had the opportunity to do part of the structural design for the towers. It's good news to now see them rise!
Ralphkke May 1st, 2007, 03:52 PM Nice project!
SkyLerm May 1st, 2007, 06:41 PM Elegant and classy :)
Taller, Better May 1st, 2007, 06:49 PM I like this project but why does every condo in Toronto have to have a balcony?
Uhmmm... to sit on and enjoy the fresh air? I have a balcony and use it all the time. I think it is a quality of life issue, rather than just an aesthetic visual thing. Most people I know, if given a choice between having a balcony, or not having a balcony would vote overwhelmingly toward having one.
Sentient Seas May 1st, 2007, 11:49 PM Good for Toronto! These look to be excellent towers, they will look good with the rest of the existing skyline definitely.
isaidso May 2nd, 2007, 07:54 PM I'm all in favour of balconies despite the fact that most of them detract from a buildings looks. My issue is the size of most balconies constructed in Toronto. Balconies should be the size of a room, but outside. Some are so small that all you can do is stand there: completely useless.
Walk about town, the vast majority of balconies go unused because they have been tacked on with little consideration for usage. Alot turn into storage areas.
caltrane74 May 2nd, 2007, 08:31 PM nice project!! ( one of my favs for sure)

As pleasing as it might sound to have a 12 foot deep balcony, the overhang from the balcony above would completely block sunlight from entering the living space. We would have huge balconies, and dark living spaces. Also, there is a limited amount of land to build on.. if the balconies extend too far, they will detract from the square footage of the living space. Northern hemisphere countries can only use their balconies part of the year.
VikkyD May 7th, 2007, 02:36 AM I like these buildings! The South Tower has topped out! and it's lookin' FLY! woohoo. I like.

Alweron July 2nd, 2007, 11:29 AM What a great design. I really like those towers. That little "park" in the middle looks very nice. Toronto seems to be growing very fast. There are quite a few projects under construction.
Skyman July 3rd, 2007, 05:31 AM Agree, that's pretty good news for Toronto

isaidso October 7th, 2007, 03:50 PM Eglinton is feeling closer to downtown all the time. These towers will definitely help.

These things rise above the rest of the city, and you can see them from across the Don Valley.
caltrane74 October 31st, 2007, 05:38 PM tall..........for midtown at least.
LordMandeep November 2nd, 2007, 12:55 AM yes i was able to seem them from Eglinton and Weston...

So, this second tower will be taller than the first one? It's going to offer dynamite views of the downtown. That purple advertisement depicts the view it will offer. A bit too small to make out, but I walked by the other day and it will be a fantastic skyline view from some of those upper level condos.

Elkhanan1 November 17th, 2007, 05:40 AM These buildings just look phenomenal. And they're atop the most attractive base in the whole city, which, BTW, looks much more deco than the deco-wanna-be RoCP. The stone and curved glass are simply gorgeous. Great job, Minto! :okay:

isaidso March 9th, 2008, 01:59 AM Is this Toronto's first 500+ footer outside of downtown?
Surprisingly, I believe so. There's a huge number of highrises outside of downtown, but none over 500 feet. This looks to be the first, but will soon be joined by Absolute 1 in Mississauga.
