Acapulco has a great skyline! When you're driving from the International Airport towards the hotel zone, you get excellent views from the mountains. And most of the buildings were built from the 1980's up to nowadays, so they've got nice designs!

If you visit this place, you will never rate it's skyline under 9.0!

Pros: I like the city's natural settings, and the density isn't the best... but it's not the worst iether, and the height of some of it's high-rises aren't bad iether.

Cons: About half of the buildigs have some designs that I'm not a big fan of.

I quite like to go to Acapulco. I love the crescent shaped bay. And the cityscape with the surrounding mountains is cool

Ive been to both cities and its OBVIOUS that this picture is RECIFE-BR!!

To 5th photo it is not Acapulco. That photo is the beach of Boa Viagem in the city of Recife - Brazil. I believe that there was a misunderstanding, because sincerely they don't have anything there to be with Acapulco. I am not belittling the city, but Recife is very different.

I think that is possible to make a translation of the name...this way:
...it's the Boa Viagem (Portuguese for Good Trip) Beach in Recife*

*cities' names must not be translated unless there are old translations for them, like Lisbon for Lisboa.

I can't believe I made this thread almost 6 years ago! Anywho, theres been several towers completed since then... I hope that the skyline keeps improving, but its going to be difficult, since the skyline looks a little crammed as is. But to me the towers are just a plus, since I'd rather have that scenery over anything else! :)

Acapulco is a beautiful city and a great party town. I was there in February of 2000 with a few buddies and loved every moment of it. Plus the natural beauty of the bay and the famous cliff diving was also a treat. But I've heard that the city has taken a real nose dive due to drugs and Mexican Gangs overtaking the city, driving out international tourists for fear of safety. My understanding is that mostly rich people from Mexico City are the majority of tourists in Acapulco now. There used to be direct flights from Winnipeg and other Canadian cities to Acapulco; not anymore. You don't even see any travel agents or airlines advertising for Acapulco anymore. Damn shame as I would have went back in a heartbeat.
