Rusty Gull March 17th, 2007, 08:13 AM Does anybody else here agree that Vancouver (the Vancouver section) should have its own link on the homepage (top level) of the Skyscrapercity.com website?
I notice that under the North America category, for example, cities that do have their own link include Seattle, Miami and Tampa.
But according to Emporis, Vancouver has the 30th most dynamic skyline, compared to Seattle (52nd spot), Miami (41st) and Tampa (not ranked in Top 100).
This according to the Emporis skyline ranking at:

So what about Vancouver?
dchengg March 17th, 2007, 09:03 AM Well, if its made the way it is.. i think it would be good already,
its just where the link is.. doesnt really matter much
might get even confusing when things change..
im happy with whats there right now`~
zachus22 March 17th, 2007, 05:16 PM There was actually a massive 21 page photo thread of Vancouver I looked at a while back, and it got me wondering why Vancouver didn't have its own link under North American cities.
I was actually thinking about whether I should start a thread trying to get some support, but figured I'd get closed down or something. Good on you, I'll support any petition, poll, or anything you decide to stick up.
zonie March 17th, 2007, 06:38 PM If anything, they should merge a bunch of boards together, rather than continuing to separate things. There's not enough traffic at the moment.

Fully agree !
Rusty Gull March 18th, 2007, 08:48 PM OK, well if there is enough support for my approaching "senior management" of SSC to get the link up, I will make a valiant attempt. Otherwise, I'll leave the issue alone.
DrT March 19th, 2007, 02:01 AM I support it too.
Is there a way to compare the posts or views traffic, for say a six month period, with some of the other cities that you mentioned? That may make the bid more convincing.
Vancouverite March 19th, 2007, 10:13 AM I also agree Vancouver should have a link on the main North America page. Not just for the reasons mentioned, since to me a ranking of skylines is hopelessly subjective, but because Vancouver is an important city in the realm of north american cities. The city has an incredible number of high rises, a dense downtown core, it is scenic as can be, and it is an important trend setter for urban living.
Joev March 19th, 2007, 11:16 AM The Official Vancouver thread here has been un-sticky'd.

A suprising lack of interest in a city with tons of new developments going ahead.
I think a direct link would be ok, but then everyone would want one for any city over 2 million.

Yeah, I think mr.x wants a separate thread for each new major development, rather than one giant hodge-podge thread with every project in Van lumped together into the one sticky that we had before. I think every major project should have a sticky that you can add to on a continuing basis with news, pics, discusion, etc. and new threads started for minor stuff which drop off as discussion declines.
Luv2travel March 21st, 2007, 12:02 PM If Seattle and Tampa/St. Petersburg can, then surely Vancouver should have it's own link
mr.x March 26th, 2007, 05:46 AM I'd like someone to start a topic for Shangri-la. And regarding the link, i'll see what i can do.
