yeah, new york doesnt have a crazy king with tons of accruied oil wealth (from other emerates) and a state-owned construction company. But thats the american way, we (mostly) have all private development

these renderings are the best that ive seen of the WTC! ! Alot better than the color day and night one that they first released. Also Goldman seems to have real winner in the lower Madd-Hatten area. They're going to be beautiful.

Man, I didn't know there was that much construction going on there!! I should call my friend that lives in Long Island that does HVAC also and see what kind of pay those boys are making and how much of a PITA it would be to find reasonably priced housing and all the while get to see and enjoy NYC:cheers:

With the Freedom Tower, WT2 and 3 the GS building and Gehrys tower this by far is the most densly packed area of skyscrapers u/c and or approved in the world. Keep in mind that all buildings are at least 800ft...with a coulpe of monsters over 1000ft and a nice middle finger at over 1300ft.:)

Well it took a minute, but now this is just what i wanted to see, as many towers going up on and around the World Trade Center site as possible. This makes four. I heard that tower 4 (WTC) will start soon, can anyone conferm this?

thf5007
April 20th, 2007, 07:05 PM
I don't know, but it would definitly be nice if the other towers started soon because ideally it would be nice if the other towers were finished around the same time as the Freedom Tower.

Another resisential/hotel tower (just as taller if not taller than the Barclay tower that you asked about) will rise right next to it on the site of the old Moody's building.

I used iPhoto to edit the photos.
I used Keynote to create the presentation.
I used GarageBand to create the music from scratch.

Then after all of that, I simply used iMovie to finalize the movie for upload.

For the timeframe, a straight week to do this project (principle photography was one week ago). :cheers2:

the glass is really a bit darker than we thought

when we're looking at the pics, all we're seeing is the dark unfinished ceilings and stuff. once the interior starts coming together and ceiling goes in, it'll be much lighter because the ceilings are white and the glass seems to be pretty transparent.

From that angle, this tower will look taller than 7WTC even though they are the same height. It will top out at around the same height as the WFC Tower with the green pyramid crest - the tallest one, giving the west side of lower Manhattan's skyline an utterly massive and amazing addition. It's really starting to have an impact now. By the time all the glass is up, we'll be watching Freedom Tower starting to rise behind it. Even though, let us say, WTC Tower 4, a supertall, were built right now, from the west, the GS Global HQ would have much more of an impact on lower Manhattan's skyline.

I consider this tower the new 7WTC's twin since they are both the same height and about the same size are both green office skyscrapers. We might as well call this tower 6WTC. And what an impact she will have. Move aside BoA and NYTT, it will be GS's time to shine very soon!

Wow! Perhaps it should have been about 60 feet taller to really add even more to the skyline w/ the WFC, but it's utterly amazing as it is. That diagram ust show how massive it is.

My ol' dad is more negative than some emo kid. I remember telling him that the new WTC towers would be over 1,000 feet tall and he snorted out, "Yeah, like they'd ever build even that tall again; you're crazy if you think that." Then I told him that the GS tower would be as tall as the tower he used to work in, 3WFC, (he still has over 3 dozen keys to it in his desk) and he told me I was making up "BS." He just doesn't believe anything till he sees it, no matter what.

I wasnt sure just how big this one would be, and I am happy that Downtown Manhattan is constructing some awesome things.
In some skyline shots of Downtown, the area near the WFC is the only place I can see gaps. That will change, and it'll look crazy

There's at least 6 more floors to go, and I'd say at most 9. You can tell because the tower has not reached her final setback yet, and the setback has 6 floors.

What a great addition to the skyline!!! 7WTC and 3WFC have a new buddy!

Lower Manhattan really needs the new supertalls bad.

Without the Twin Towers - it just looks wrong.

Still has four more floors to go. I'm loving it more and more. Hard to believe that it's just one of dozens of towers of roughly the same scale being built at the same time on that small island.

Always has... Although it's obvious now after 9/11.
I think the guys who created the teaser poster for the movie Cloverfield used this sport of Manhattan for that very reason.

Stunning shot and building! Really good to see different angles of this because it seems like almost every shot is from the west! here's another new angle :D
