A new station will be built by the hospital, the TERRAGLIO-OSPEDALE station. Trains every 8 minutes (peak hours) or every 10 minutes will carry the hospital visitors to Venice or Treviso and stop at the stations on the line.

nazrey August 17th, 2008, 02:36 PM Safe ducts in case of earthquake
In designing new complexes for use as hospitals or for residential, commercial or industrial purposes in areas at high risk of earthquakes, the safety factor associated with these structures require great attention and meticulous consideration. This means that a careful assessment has to be made not only of the performance of the architectural structures but also of the installations involved in them, particularly the ducts systems for the handling of air. P3 developed this research that focuses on the behaviour of P3ductal system compared to traditional sheet metal ducts in case of earthquake.
nazrey August 17th, 2008, 02:37 PM Our ecological footprint to save nature!
A sustainable environment is for us a constant and serious social duty. A commitment which becomes reality with eco-sustainable production technologies and the Hydrotec patent which uses water as the only expanding agent for the insulation in P3ductal and P3isomac and therefore without using any greenhouse effect gasses during the expansion of the polyurethane foam. With P3 saving the environment is a reality.
nazrey August 17th, 2008, 02:39 PM A new air for hospitals! The new Mestre hospital
Maintaining the correct thermohydrometric conditions and air quality is fundamental in all hospital
applications. A great deal of attention, starting from the designing phases, has to be given to
changing the air distribution ducts. P3 has developed a panel on purpose for hospital applications
(available also with an antibacterial treatment) capable of guaranteeing an extremely high level of
hygiene.

polojr August 27th, 2009, 07:42 PM I completely agree that this is the best hospital in the world. The big news is that it is away from the bustle of the city and its unique design invites you to rest and relax. Is designed around the comfort of the people.

Slartibartfas January 10th, 2012, 01:04 AM What is the frequency of rail service between central Mestre and/or Venice and that new hospital station?
I think it is a terrible choice to build a hospital on the outermost periphery of a city. A hospital is a heavily frequented place and as such should be well connected by municipal transportation and well located. It is pretty inconvenient and inefficient if you have to board a regional train to get to your main hospital of you town.
And I haven't even thought about the implications on survival chances if the hospital is so far away from the mainland centre, let alone the old town. Or are there other emergency hospitals available there?
Fab87 January 10th, 2012, 09:27 AM ^^ I agree with you. I prefer hospitals that are right in the middle of the city. In my home town Verona we built a new hospital next to the centre of town. It doesn't look as futuristic as this one, but it might be more practical in the end. Plus, due to this huge glass facade they were having a lot of problems with the cooling system, i don't know if they fixed'em.

Mestre is an ugly city.
