* The Contract for National Land Use Right was signed with Shenyang Plan and Land Resources Bureau in August 2006.
* Shenyang City Hang Lung Plaza is located on the south side of City Plaza, along Qingnian Street, Shenhe District of Shenyang City.
* The City Plaza is the definitive landmark in Shenyang City, with the Liaoning Grand Theatre and Liaoning Museum to the east, the Municipal Government Building to the west and the central business district to the north.
* Qingnian Street runs along the centre of Shenyang City and is known as the Golden Corridor. The Corridor forms a major part of the urban development strategy of Shenyang City, the capital city of Liaoning Province.
* The newly proposed No. 2 metro line will run along The Golden Corridor with subway stations at the City Plaza and Qingnian Street.
* The construction is anticipated to be commenced in 2007.
* Office towers over 300m are to be constructed, which will be among the tallest office buildings in the Northeast provinces;
* Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates;
* World-class shopping mall, office towers and 6-star hotels are to be built along the Qingnian Street, the "Golden Corridor" that offers direct access to Shenyang Taoxian International Airport. The twin office towers sit opposite the City Plaza, which was awarded one of the "Best National Cultural Plaza" by the Cultural Bureau in 2006.

I agree, it does has some reminiscent of the original design by Lieberskind; but the final design of WTC complex deos not look cohesive at all. I like this scheme better than the final WTC complex design (the tower of WTC is not bad but the surrounding towers are very mediocre).

　　沈阳市消防支队一位官员表示，按照200多米的高度，这些大厦内应设有专门避难层、消防通道等。

　　更为重要的是，这些200米以上的大厦也需要安装消防电梯，可以在1分钟内将顶楼上的市民快速运输到下层。

No changes and still no final heights. I used the zoom to count the floors, counted 82 and 75. 86 and 78 including the projections on the roofs.

Depending on the angle these towers can look either fat and rather short or slender and very sexy. The base is too rectangular imo.

Future view, but it is not conceptual. Say around 2015.

All the big projects you see here are real and they are u/c or planned. This area is North Station CBD at Shenhe district, about 40% of the coming big skyscrapers for this city.

Sadly, they didn't include the Eton Center (1x400m, 1x300m, 1-3x200m), which will be located at the block next to Hang Lung towers that they left in green. I wish they could enlarge the model one single block :(

suzhou GDP ranks 5th amony chinese mainland cities(2006year) ,only after shanghai , beijing ,guangzhou ,shenzhen. industurial production rand second only after shanghai. but it's a subprovincial city, so maybe not famous international. but suzhou is very well known in china , like wuhan ,harbin you mentioned.

Finally we can confirm some height. The tallest tower will be 384.2m and 76 floors. No height for the other 3 towers by the moment. The second tallest will be probably above 350m either. This is far taller than the 330m~ figure we expected for the two big ones.

SHENYANG CITY HANG LUNG PLAZA
SHENYANG, CHINA

The design for the Hang Lung Dou Mu Gong Mixed-use Development in Shenyang seeks to create a dynamic new icon for one of northeast China’s most vibrant and swiftly developing cities.

Situated at the south side of City Plaza with ample frontage on Qing Nian Da Jie, the site is undoubtedly one of the most desirable development sites in the city. KPF’s design features two dynamic office tower forms at the north site which act as a gateway from City Plaza to the development and serve to reinforce the edge of the part. Between these two elements is a large canopy which covers a plaza in front of the main retail entrance. The central zone of the retail mall is situated a bit further south, thus allowing easy access from the later phase office tower and the hotel tower.

Finally, the southeastern portion of the site is reserved for three serviced apartment buildings and retail stores specially tailored for the needs of apartment residents.

The architectural language of all buildings is based on a gently curved geometry, which is meant to suggest the flow of the river. The office towers and hotel slab taper subtly in section to open up a sense of space in the middle of the complex. The office towers are conceived as a family of forms and are united though the use of a consistent curtain-wall design. These towers are capped by floating crystal forms that sparkle during the daytime and function as beacons at night.

and also shenyang has a very strong ground so it is easy to build a skyscraper unlike shanghai or other cities in china which have an extremely weak sand .

I still think some of those swamps are sinking. But what interest me is. The buildings would've been built on base rock and there fore very little weight to the actual ground. So what's causing places like Pudong to sink? er settle for those of you who are sensative.

^^ That's some massive foundation raft! It's gonna start growing soon it seems.

Hopefully they will start the Eton Center soon (400m, 300m, 250m~). It will be located at the monster plot on the left in this pic. You can see one of the remaining residential midrises (all of them uninhabited) at the bottom. Seeing the two monster projects next to each other rising at the same time would be amazing.

* The mixed development comprises a world-class shopping mall, Grade A office towers, hotel and serviced apartments. Its twin office towers rising above 350m will become the tallest office buildings in the northeast.

the two twins and the main tower facing the square ( a bit like citic plaza in guangzhou) look so depressing. Gz did such a better job. Demolish them and built something better

Nice complex! Shengyang as the biggest city in Northeast China, deserves these quality supertalls.
I have a curious question, would the constrcution work continue during winter time when the temperature drops to 20 degrees below zero?:)
