A r c h i March 21st, 2007, 08:55 AM Project: CBW (Corner Bourke and William) cost $430 million
Developer: ISPT
Architect: Bates Smart
Currently the tallest buildings under construction in Melbourne at the moment until some of the big boys start mid year. I've put them together because it's a single development and 550 Bourke is only 6m under the 100m limit for this forum and I don't think it's worth starting a second seperate thread for it.
181 William St in the foreground, with gold, copper and bronze coloured glass.

Will probably look more like this render though:

I think people will either love or hate this building.
emzeti March 21st, 2007, 09:03 AM yea..graffiti
Drunkill March 21st, 2007, 09:18 AM If they get the glass right, it'll be good, and if it isn't good it's alright i guess, it's basically hidden from view while outside the CBD.
A r c h i March 21st, 2007, 09:20 AM It'll be visible from New Quay until the powerstation redevelopment gets underway but aside from that it's practically crowded out from most other angles.
xiaoluis March 21st, 2007, 10:45 PM Not very tall, but very nice..

Disclaimer: The bronze isn't really as dark as it appears in the photos.
BMXican April 17th, 2007, 05:54 PM I can't believe the tallest u/c in melbourne right now is "only" 120m tall
Sentient Seas April 18th, 2007, 01:28 AM I think this is a very nice building, I like the texture of the exterior alot. It looks somewhat futuristic.
A r c h i April 18th, 2007, 06:52 AM I can't believe the tallest u/c in melbourne right now is "only" 120m tall
That should change over the next year but yeah at the moment we're getting a lot of buildings in the 90m-120m range which fill in a few gaps in the skyline. Hopefully by the end of the year Prima (226m) will have started, as well as the tallest of the CUB towers (204m) and possibly one of the Powerstation towers (180-200m+ range).
Ithaqua April 19th, 2007, 10:04 PM I like the colour of Glass on the building. I don't think I have seen one with that colour glass before.
Phobos April 20th, 2007, 12:42 AM It's nothing special IMO.
Muse April 20th, 2007, 01:25 AM I like the colour of Glass on the building. I don't think I have seen one with that colour glass before.:cheers:Yeah, the glass on the larger tower will make this one.
Thanks for the pics Archibomber.
